Chef Johannes Bacher whose global modern European award-winning cuisine including his popular fan favorite “Wiener Schnitzel” has been a downtown Palm Springs staple since 1999. Chef Bacher continues to use his many years of traveling the world as the inspiration for his subtle, creative dishes that are exciting and tastefully show off his Austrian roots.                                             Our fav desert restaurant—for food and ambiance. Great drinks! Terrific apps—meatballs,shaved brussel sprout salad, cheese spaetzen delicious. Every kind of mouth watering schnitzel imaginable. Lovely desserts. All that plus warm, pleasant service.

                                            Terrific food option in Downtown Palm Springs. Nice to venture away from typical cuisine found on most menus. The Spaetzle and Schnitzel dishes were prepared perfectly. Great wine list including wonderful Austrian whites. Service was attentive and professional.

                                            The first miss we’ve had at Johannes. Food was solid, but surprising number of service screw ups - one of our mains came after the other main, wine came after entrees - no urgency to fix or remedy, no bill consideration or even an apology. Disappointing from a place that’s always been tremendous.

                                            25th Anniversary menu had so many choices, but we had to stick to Schnitzel. The restaurant was full and the noise level still allowed for easy conversation at the table. The cheese spätzle appetizer was tasty too.
