   We were looking forward to this restaurant on this trip. We had heard that it was phenomenal - wrong. The waiter was absolutely HORRIBLE and very inattentive. We ordered apps, salads, entrees and a few cocktails and drinks. The food was delicious and hot. The waiter NEVER asked us how the dinners were. Never approached the table. Never greeted us with “welcome to Johannes, have you dined with us before?” NOTHING. Asked if we wanted bread and butter at $8 for a baguette loaf that obviously came from Sam’s. We opted out. The bus boy tried to put it on the table and we told him NO. The waiter dropped the check off and didn’t thank us for dining with them and encourage us to return again. An ice tea that was cloudy was $7 and a small 8oz Diet Coke bottle was $7. Total rip off. The manger never circled the dining room asking tables how everything was. Our total check was $345 we normally tip 20/25% which we didn’t do this evening. The waiter was worth MAYBE 5/7% but we did tip 15%. This evening was a total let down. Will never return. Too many restaurants in Palm Springs and surrounding area.

   We will dine there again. The fried oysters were delicious.The duck, and the wiener schnitzel were great, and the apple strudel was yummy.

   Excellent food and outstanding service. We have dined here many times and the experience has consistently been wonderful.

   Another excellent dinner Johannes! For a change ordered the rack of lamb rather than my favorite Jaeger schnitzel -- delicious. Starters for the table included the excellent tuna tartare, mussels, corn soup w/crab and a special salad for the evening that was an architectural marvel. Our guests were very pleased with their main courses of lamb as well and, special for the evening, the goulash....and again, Barry provided the best service and attention in the valley. The entire staff is topnotch, with David always graciously greeting and seating us. Thank you!

   The food continues to be exceptionally good and consistently outstanding. Barri is a fantastic server as are all the staff so friendly and accommodating. The schnitzel is to die for. My husband had the bone in pork chop special and it was also so delicious. The chef continues to amaze and delight with new specials.

    We’ve wanted to go but never have until last evening. Not desperate to go back anytime soon but it was alright. For the price point the service could have been better and the servers could be dressed better. Our server was looking a bit disheveled. Sat outside which was fine. Had the Ahi Stack and it was good. I had the wagyu beef patty plate which was serviceable. Our anniversary was mentioned at the beginning but never again. And if you bring espresso to table bring sugar with it regardless so there no waiting… Best part was leaving my wallet at the table and the wonderful host meeting me on the sidewalk with it as I walked back.
