The band is too loud. Even outside it was hard to hear the people you were with, inside impossible.
Also, pretty tacky to charge for bread when you are spending over a hundred dollars for a couple.
Jays is always a good choice for a nice upscale dinner in old town.
Decided to give Jay's another chance as the first time we were seated but never waited on. Much better service this time for us, but the restaurant seems to have an issue with taking care of seated customers. We sat outside and two other tables left after they received no service. One table got drinks but did not see server again for 20 minutes and that was after they asked the busboy to get her. Other table not waited on because 2 servers did not know who was responsible. Even the "floor manager" seemed confused as he did not know where to deliver 2 drinks.
Our waiter was attentive and checked in on us often. He sought out answers to our questions about several wines, and he offered suggestions on food choices.
The food was adequate but not great. We started with salads, one kale and one caesar. The caeser was pretty flavorless, and the kale salad was missing two components listed on the menu (candied walnuts and dried cranberries). We also ordered 3 starters: shrimp and corn risotto croquetas, brussel sprouts and duck wings. All were fine, but nothing special.
Based on our two experiences, we will most likely not return.
Jay's is not what it use to be, the food prep has suffered a little, the flavors have changed not in my Paulettes favor. Still enjoy going there and have a good experience.
Jay's Bristo was conveniently located and the dinning in was outstanding. We got in the extra private room because there were seven of us. The food was absolutely outstanding. They have an outstanding chef. I love scalps and they were cooked perfectly. It was a perfect dining evening.
Once again I had a fantastic dinner at Jay’s. The scallops were amazing. Destiny was my server and she took very good care of me. I highly recommend Jay’s.
We always Jay’s Bistro. We have been going there for ten years. It is consistently terrific, from the bar to the table, we are never disappointed.

Service and food was wonderful
We have been to Jay's many times. It is unfortunate that the quality of the food was not excellent as in the past. Our filet's though tender were dry. The lobster in the Steak and lobster noodle bowl was dry and overcooked. Our server was good but spread to thin; not her fault, just not enough staff. Hopefully, Jay's will improve as we get out of the COVID era.
We really enjoyed the food and service. I loved the salmon.
Visited on vacation and enjoyed the food and drinks. On Friday night they had a good jazz band. Service was great. We had the filet, pork chop, steak and lobster pasta. All were very good. We would go again when we are in town.
Great food and service and the live music set it all off.
Jay’s is a great place. The food, service and ambiance are perfect for any occasion. I don’t know why more people don’t frequent the place.
Finally! Fine dining with truly delicious food and excellent service - in Fort Collins! I didn't think that existed before trying this place. We ordered brussels sprouts, calamari, Bison ribeye, filet mignon and Caesar salad, all of which was excellent. Our server's recommendations for wine and beer were spot on. Can't wait to return!
Love this restaurant! Haven't been in many years, and now will be adding it to one of our local faves for Fort Collins
Excellent Scallops! Wine choice exceptional. Wait staff efficient and enjoyable.
A wonderful evening to celebrate our Anniversary.
Great service, good food and good drinks. Will eat there again
Food and service fantastic. Could have done without the train blasting through but that’s a downtown FoCo experience to be expected. We were disappointed with our Martinis and we were well taken care of by the owner. We’re definitely going to have our son’s wedding rehearsal dinner here out on the patio.
Nice patio and good selection of entrees. Great location in old town Fort Collins.
I had the filet and lobster bowl. The steak was fine with the sauce , but the sauce completely overwhelmed the lobster. I pointed this out to the server. For dessert I had the creme brule. The sugar on the creme is supposed to be crispy and golden brown. In this case that was true on the edges but the center was essentially burnt black. Having already noted the problem with the lobster I did not mention this to the server. Jay's has been one of my favorites for years. This meal was not up to their usual standards. I'm not sure I will go back.
Everything was great, service, wine, food. Large portions, brought half of it back to our hotel. Only issue was a 1 year old that while cute was also noisy. Made us laugh remembering what it’s like to have small children and going out to eat.
Excellent service at a time when many are lacking. The food was very good. They had live jazz but it was tough to hear it.
We sat outside on a lovely night ... the only distraction was the concrete workers that were still working on the fountains area next to Blue Agave. They quit though about 7PM and it was very nice
We go to Jay's every now and then. Food is reliably good and service is friendly. I had the seafood caesar salad which was excellent. I'd highly recommend it. My wife had the scallops which was also delicious.
The food was great! The only issue we had and the reason I'm giving 4 stars is the service was a bit slow.
Food was delicious. Had Brussel sprouts, lobster bisque, and harvest salad. Great waiter! Nice place!
Great service and food! Beautiful restaurant. Perfect local restaurant with a Fort Collins vibe. Also, perfect location in Old Town.
On A Monday night when not busy, they seat everyone close together. The wine I ordered, the waitress did not know that they carried it even though it was on the menu. Eventually the bartender came over and explained that they had run out a day or two earlier, so we ended up with a mediocre Sancerre. The lobster bisque was closer to a roux in consistency and would not recommend this soup. The Scallops and Pork Chop we had were both very good.
Never been before. Highly recommend. We loved it. Filet was suburb.
Very accommodating and pleasant staff. Food was cooked perfectly and we were able to have an excellent experience for our anniversary dinner.
They made me feel extremely welcomed and special for my birthday. Loved the live music too! Will be back for another special occasion
Consistently one of Fort Collins best fining dining restaurants. They hung in during difficult Covid times and are back on track with their music venue as well.
Jays is one of our top 3 restaurants in Fort Collins, we recommend it to everyone
We ate in the bar on a Friday night and I thought the music was a bit loud.
Our anniversary dinner was lovely. The service is well-knowns at Jay's to be exceptional and ours was just that! They even treated us to a dessert:)
Meh. We came back to see the changes since ownership. It was an okay meal and experience.
Our dinner at Jay's was a memorable experience. We sat on the patio and enjoyed their heaters as the night got cool. The food was terrific and the service was outstanding. We will definitely be back again soon. The owner was even making the rounds at tables to make sure everyone was being well taken care of.
Great food, but multiple server errors.
Small portions. Very pricy. Very slow out of the kitchen. Too noisy. Will not be back
Everything was just about perfect for my Birthday celebration.
