This is one of our favorite Fort Collins restaurants so we chose it for a first-time dinner with new friends. We were a little disappointed. We usually eat there earlier in the week, so the fact that we were there on a Friday during holiday season could account for the slower-than-usual service and the lukewarm food. However, we had reservations and our orders were all simple and straightforward. We'll be back with high hopes for a return to our previous stellar experiences.
Service was great. I found a Pinot noir that I liked. Finally have a reliable place for outstanding sea bass. Their lamb trio was also very good.
Visiting daughter for holidays.
We were hoping for a truly traditional Thanksgiving dinner and they delivered. The food was delicious and the service was awesome!
Enjoyed traditional Thanksgiving Day fare. Great flavors and generous servings. Pumpkin cheesecake was fabulous!
We had Thanksgiving dinner at Jay's. The food was incredible. The service was spot on, even with the restaurant being full. A perfect place!
Experienced a great Thanksgiving dinner. Can't wait to go back and try their regular menu!
Still setting the same high standard that Jay’s has always maintained!
A great spot for locals in the know - excellent food and service!
Wonderful first visit to Jay’s! We will be back!
We were celebrating a birthday at lunch and our server, Maddison, did a great job discussing a few menu options with us. We ordered the bouillabaisse and spicy chicken sandwich and they were both excellent. We will definitely go back and ask to sit in Maddison's section.
Fabulous dinner with cousins in town! The menu is amazing and ambiance is really nice. Brussels Sprouts incredibly delicious!
Food and service was excellent. John, our waiter, was very engaging and this made the evening very relaxed and comfortable. I ate there two nights in a row it was so good. The jazz music was a little over powering if you are too close to the band area, but acceptable.
We celebrated my daughter’s birthday with lunch at Jays!
They were wonderful and enjoy gifted her with a creme brûlée!
My wife and I love Jay's! We tend to pop in more for happy hour but love to go for special dinners when we can find a sitter for the little one... Filet mignon, scallops and wagyu filled us with decadent happiness last time in!
Everyone of the three of us enjoyed our meals - scallops, lamb trio and pork trio.
It was my husband and my 5 year anniversary. I noted this when I made the reservation, but we got no recognition. I saw a basket of origami cranes at the hostess station on the way out and asked what they were for. She said they put them on the tables for people who are celebrating birthdays or anniversaries. It would have been nice if that had been done for us. Especially considering my husband and I lived in Japan for a few years.
We each revived the wrong cocktail. I sent mine back because there was bourbon in it and it was supposed to be Prosecco and St. Germain. My husband just suffered through his without saying anything. We had two servers try to bring food to our table that we didn’t order.
It wasn’t a very busy night so I’m not sure what the issue was.
I made a reservation on line for 6 people, 5:15, in the bar. When we arrived, they had my name and number of guests but had us seated in the restaurant. There was no availability in the bar and there were reserved tables marked. We sat in the restaurant until our food came when the Manager came out and said they could move us to the bar as soon as we had eaten. He apologized and brought a small cheese plate as compensation for not having my reservation available. I will not use the on-line reservation again, only call.
Ross was absolutely fantastic. We loved loved the Colorado lamb trio and the half chicken. Unparalleled service and outstanding food; the pinot noir on the happy hour menu was delicious and the $5 Frisco was more than worth it! We never felt rushed, which we appreciate so much as we don’t want to hog a table but we really love taking our time, especially when the food and service are so enjoyable. This is our new favorite place in town.
The only suggestion I have would be less sauce on the plate with the trio chop. Sauce was tasty but my personal preference would have been just a drizzle. The meat itself can stand alone. Fantastic experience!
I love this place! It is my favorite place to hangout for for a date night with my hubby and to hangout with friends
Server was very wonderful and accommodating! She was attentive but not overly attentive and she noticed I wasn’t drinking the drink I had ordered (it was too strong for me) and she offered to get me something else. The atmosphere was nice and every one of the employees was very hospitable. The boy who was filling our waters came around often to make sure our glasses were full and he was very nice.
Always a superb dinner and cocktails
Music is superb
Wait staff is always attentive
It is just so normal to have a great experience at Jay's that I forget to write a review on occasion. As usual, our drinks (thanks Ray!), service (thanks Abby!), and food was all delightful. We had the wedge salad, beet and guacamole appetizer, shared the scallop dish w side of sweet potatoes (sweet potatoes was a special side that night... oh my, they were delicious!), and ended w choc decadence cake w a scoop of the key lime pie ice cream. All yummy! That is why we dine at Jay's regularly.
Always a good experience. A Ft Collins tradition for many years.
They have tweaked their menu with the same good taste and a well informed staff that is very helpful.
This is a loud restaurant! My husband's dinner was delicious and mine was so-so. We had excellent service and the manager (?) was concerned that I didn't really care for my meal. That was nice. I'm not sure we'll be back though.
Jay's staff went out of their way to make sure our anniversary was special and were affable. Food was delicious and drinks were made to order. We will be back for sure.
Wait staff was superb. Very friendly and attentive, knowledgeable about the menu and wine list, went the extra mile to keep us satisfied. Only disappointment was the Kung pao brussel sprouts which were too spicy and sticky to eat.
Always reliable good location for out of town guests.
This is like the old Jay's and so glad we tried it again. The service was outstanding and the food was great - my all time favorite Lobster Bisque.
Great food, great wine and great service with Ross! Awesome night out, we will definitely be back!
We had a nice evening at Jay’s, I think we caught them on a off night as we waited an unusually long amount of time for our entree.
Our server John was very friendly and efficient
We have been going to Jay's Bistro for years and are always extremely satisfied with our entire experience! BRAVO
Generally all the food ordered by our dinner group was good to very good. But the portions were very undersized for the prices charged. And there wasn't anything special about the service. We even mentioned it being a birthday celebration for one of our dinner party. And there wasn't anything done or mentioned regarding this special occasion.
Went looking for an upscale place and Jay’s did not Disappoint!
They had live Jazz in the front of the restaurant. We were seated in a lovely circular booth in the back.
The Busser was prompt keeping our glasses always full, and prompt with our dishes as we finished each course.
Our server, Tori, was very pleasant and extremely knowledgeable about the menu and describing the tastes of the variety of options; and a great suggestion to complement our choice of entree.
The food was a new experience and EVERY bite was an adventure.
We savored each bite.
The Caliber of ambiance, service and quality of taste of food made for a GREAT experience
All of the food was great. There was even live music, which was okay if you were not too close to it.
We enjoy going to Jay's because we know it will be a pleasant experience... great food, drinks, service and atmosphere. The new beets and guacamole appetizer is yummy. The Alaskan halibut was cooked perfectly, and the herb roasted potatoes were delicious too.
Date night at our favorite Fort Collins Restaurant. Always a great meal and service!
Good food for Fort Collins. One of the better meals I’ve had in Old town.
Food was amazing as usual and our waitress - Maddison - was a delight.
