Our waitress Suzan O was the best, she was so attentive and her service was A+. The food was cool to perfection. The restaurant was so beautiful. Great ambiance and definitely would go again when am in Kansas
Great experience! Food and staff was outstanding! Would definitely recommend and will be coming back!
The food was amazing. My wife and I are definitely going to come back. Worth the 45 minute drive that we had.
Great place. Never disappoints. Service. Good. All great.
Lovely dinner and our waiter Jonah made the evening great.
The services was extraordinary, the food was amazing and the ambiance was perfect for a intimate night out.
Excellent Thanksgiving dinner! Even had leftovers for the next day. Delicious!
I love this place. Old school, simple, yet delicious.
Great Thanksgiving meal. Karen B was a superb server! Very attentive!
While the steaks tasted good, 3 of the 4 were overcooked. We ordered medium rare and they came out at best just under well done. My son had to send his back. I didn’t want to wait for refire. The table across from us and behind us had the exact same problem with their steaks too, so not just an isolated incident. I realize it was Thanksgiving, but the service was not the best either. I have had really good experiences the previous visits. Disappointing for the cost of the meal and considering the occasion.
The bar area was very cold from the door opening and closing for the entire stay. You should add some drapes to the entry way to the bar to help this. The baked potato wasn't fully cooked and came out to be somewhat hard inside. The steak was great.
Awesome traditional Thanksgiving meal. Special thanks Suzan for great attention.
I thoroughly enjoyed the Thanksgiving 3-course dinner.
Nice table seating. Too bad the very loud waitress was serving in our area. Our waitress was excellent! Our Thanksgiving plate choice was very disappointing. The sweet potatoes were the only item with any taste at all besides the Caesar salad. My husband’s favorite place, but no longer.
Food quality and taste was outstanding. Some of the best turkey I’ve tasted. Price was a little bit on the high side but overall our experience was above average
As always a great eating experience. This is the first time that we tried J Gilbert's on Thanksgiving and it was not disappointing. The three course Thanksgiving meal was perfectly prepared as well at hot and fresh.
food was great and the service was even better!!! best dinning experience I've had in a long time. We go back soon!!!
It was nice. The food wasn’t as good as it usually is but overall a good dinner
Had some issues with service that were frustrating. Food is great.
It was my birthday and mi was sent an email for a $25 off entree with a second entree. That paid for drinks but not the meals. I always forget how expensive it is. It was delicious though. My favorite restaurant.
Shane was our server. He was outstanding, very personable!
We really like the atmosphere and ambiance at j Gilbert’s. There is a very good selection of appetizers and entrees to choose from. We’ve never had a bad meal there. The service is top notch. I just wish prices were a little bit lower.
Excellent experience. Food was great, server was a gentleman
The food is the best!! It’s our go-to place for all special occasions!
I have been a patron of J. Gilbert's for over 20 years. About 3 weeks ago, I made a reservation for my boyfriend's birthday. I also signed him up for the birthday club but used my email address as I wanted it to be a surprise. As a part of the birthday club, the diner receives a complimentary entrée. However, I never received the email. So when I pulled a manager aside last night to discuss it, she indicated I had signed him up with the same email address I used for myself in 2012. I thanked her for looking into and confirmed with her that I had never used it for myself. She agreed and said she would "take care of it". I assumed that meant she would comp my boyfriend's entrée. However, when the bartender closed out our tab, he indicated that the manager had offered us complimentary dessert. This was apparently in lieu of the entrée. Had we known that what was she was going to offer, we would have only ordered one entrée and saved room for dessert. Unfortunately, the way the manager handled our tab completely soured what should have been a spectacular birthday celebration for my boyfriend and at what used to be one of our favorite restaurants. And just so all are aware, my boyfriend and I typically order 2-3 rounds of cocktails, an appetizer or salad and 1-2 entrees. We did the same last night, and always tip off the total amount vs. what we are charged. I am so very disappointed at how the evening turned out.
Great server and atmosphere
Steak was good lobster tails a little over cooked
Excellent food and service. Great evening out.
Steaks prepared precisly as ordered. Exactly right amount of attention from the server. We tried the crab cake for the first time and it was excellent
Food was amazing. Service was excellent. Thank you, Shane!
Great food, as always. The server was very professional and attentive. Just a very enjoyable evening, and something we’ve come to expect at J. Gilbert’s
What a great place to celebrate a birthday. The entire experience from reservations, to seating, to service, to food and cocktails was all superb.
We will return!
J. Gilbert’s was great as usual. Fun bar for pre-dinner drinks, and a great meal to follow
Outstanding. Celebrated my daughter’s birthday, our server, Ellen, and all the staff made it very special.
Food, service, everything was great.
Our dinner was great. The Filet always has a nice char on the surface even for a Medium Rare but nice warm red inside. The crab cake was full of crab and very little filler it any at all. Good seasoning. Service was excellent as well. Not cheap but well worth the price for their entrees.
We love this place for birthdays and special events
Great place to eat that feels like you are appreciated as a customer. I would recommend in the winter months to turn up the heat, so my family does not need to wear a jacket while we eat.
