   We were seated in a back meeting room with no atmosphere and the service was the worst I ever experienced at this restaurant

   Great Food and Service. A little on the pricey side but you pay for what you get. Worth it.

   Mother's Day Seating.... First thing appreciated was that they didn't crowd in a lot of extra tables to get as many people as possible in to dine. (as Trezo Mare restaurant did last Moher's day) Seating was quick and server took drink order without rushing. We shared a bottle of Silver Oak Cab that they surprisingly discounted. We both had the Maryland Crab Bisque and it was as wonderful as always. The Filets were as tender and flavorful as you possible dream they could be. I had the berries and cream for dessert and the wife had the Chocolate Velvet Cake. Our Sommelier kept our glasses fillled and the server was attentive, but not hovering. The entire dining experience was very pleasant. We HIGHLY recommend J. Gilbert's for special occasions or just a night out of very fine dining.

   It was very unusual to have my order not get taken correctly and then way too long for it to get corrected and then when it was it still wasn't right. It was very simple - not complicated. I didn't want the incorrect replacement to come out as desert when it was part of a main course. Everybody screws up from time to time but when you pay $130 for a meal for a couple the expectations are higher. Below par on every other visit I've ever had there and barely an apologize for the issue. Take ownership and it's okay to make a mistake.

   We were there for Mothers day and the service was five star! The meal was delicious and one of the best steaks I'd had in a long time. Cooked to perfection!

   Tried the new shrimp/ crab entree .. very good.. lot of flavor. French onion soup outstanding. Great service as always.

    As always, the best food and service anywhere in the area. There is a reason they are voted the best steak in Kansas City. Outstanding service. The best place to eat a steak in the area hands down.
