Izanami serves Japanese Izakaya fare: seasonally inspired small plates meant for sharing, with the best sake list in the west. While we do our best to accommodate your seating, we cannot guarantee requests. We’ve been named one of OpenTable’s 100 best restaurants for outdoor dining in America.     You have reserved a true traditional Japanese experience floor seating (with no well under the table for legs). Remove your shoes, and take a step onto our tatami room. A garden window view completes this unique dining experience. This is a unique experience, but it can be challenging for those with limited flexibility. Please let us know in advance if you need to change these reservations, as we will not be able to offer other options upon arrival. Children under 10 are not recommended.

    What an excellent experience. We booked the private baths and then received the best service and most delicious four course meal. Highly recommend!!!

    We were surprised at the experience was fair. 10,000 waves is a beautiful place. The server was impatient with explaining what was on the menu. It was pricey for what we got. The food was good but did not match the expectation of a place like 10,000 waves.

    Incredible. After a week of head food a people in Santa Fe, it was capped off on top of a mountain with impeccable food, engaging service and the best four course meal of my life. I’ve been lucky to travel to a lot of places - this is one I can’t afford not to revisit. Ask the staff to guide you - they are the best.

    The restaurant has no ambiance. Reminded me of an all you can eat sushi place. We sat in a beautiful booth with a great view but could hear the bar running a dishwasher or something. Then we were presented these wrinkly cheap paper menus. First impression was terrible. The pre fix courses did not arrive at the same time. Someone would just drop a plate off and leave and then much later the other person’s meal showed up. Instead of feeling like a pre-fix - it was like we ordered a bunch of shared appetizers.

    Izanami was the perfect evening for a special dinner during our best friend reunion. Every food item was so unique and special. The green rain sake was delicious. Our server, Pablo gave us excellent suggestions and made our special evening even more so. He elevated what would have already been a great dinner to one of our favorite memories from our trip.

    The food was amazing. Our server Gabe gave us excellent attention and brought us the most delicious foods i have ever eaten. It was fun, romantic, and the desserts were heavenly.
