You have reserved a true traditional Japanese experience floor seating (with no well under the table for legs). Remove your shoes, and take a step onto our tatami room. A garden window view completes this unique dining experience. This is a unique experience, but it can be challenging for those with limited flexibility. Please let us know in advance if you need to change these reservations, as we will not be able to offer other options upon arrival. Children under 10 are not recommended.

The food is excellent!! Everything we tried from the burger, ribs, avocado and cucumber salad and sake were so tasty! Our server Tod was also very good.

The food, as always, continues to be wonderful. However we were very disappointed with the service on this visit. We were a table of 4 and sat in the greenhouse at one of the rear 6-top tables. As an example, when clearing dishes, our server asked us to pass all the dishes to her while she stood at one end of the table. She did not take the time to explain the menu at all or make any recommendations.

It was a simply divine meal. Everything was delicious beginning with the cocktails. Service was warm and friendly. They checked back without hovering. One of the best experiences we've had at Izanami and it is always wonderful!

Despite a prior special occasion Tatami room reservation, we were directed to “wait on the bench” for 20 minutes because “the new system” double booked a table. Despite customer suggestion, neither waitress, server nor manager took responsibility or provide a free drink or treat to acknowledge the error. Service, while “nice”, was inattentive and forgetful on several occasions. Apparently staff and customers are all fellow victims of the reservation system. Contrast with our meal at Sazon earlier in the week where the executive chef personally greeted each patron and checked in at the table. Also, restroom had overflowing trash. While this was a Saturday night peak reservation; all these things are predictable in the restaurant business and respond to training and leadership. Task staff to regularly monitor bathrooms. When you double book; “I’m so sorry, we will take care of it - would you like a cocktail on the house while you wait?” would have changed an “F” service score to an “A”. Olive Garden probably has higher standards. As it stands, while this was our second visit to Izabami, the food is good and the ambience unique, mediocre customer service and staff training resulted in our no longer recommending Izanami.
