Izakaya Den is Sushi Den's modern little sister, modeled after the lively after-hours establishments found throughout Japan. The restaurant is located on bustling South Pearl Street and is the second restaurant of the Kizaki brothers, founders and owners of award-winning Sushi Den.

The menu is currently shared with Sushi Den, featuring premium sashimi and nigiri, as well as traditional Japanese fare such as udon and Wagyu kushiyaki. With modern seating options including the sushi counter and sky bar, guests enjoy the award-winning architecture and fresh fish shipped daily directly from Japan.

One of the best dining experiences I've had and have not had better sushi. Miso black cod appetizer is excellent. The ambience is incredible.

Took some out-of-town guests last night they couldn't believe the variety and freshness of the fish. They were mesmerized with some of the chef's creations, the knowledgeable staff, plus the architecture and interior design. Johnny on the second floor was awesome....can't wait to go again next month!

It had been a while since I hap been to Izakaya Den. Not much has change, which is good think. The Quality of food remains superb and the ambience is still wonderful. I will return soon.

We were disappointed with the food & service. Coming last night to celebrate our 21st anniversary (Sushi Den catered our wedding) was a disappointment. Our sashimi other items (sashimi & nigiri) were warm not even close to being chilled or cold. The kitchen completely forgot one of our rolls, which when our waiter finally figured out was never served comped that role (kudos to him). Overall our dining experience was so-so.

We were seated at the high top by the bar. It is very uncomfortable because you can’t put your legs underneath the table. Would be an easy fix to put a new base on that tabletop. The bartenders were our servers and took too long to check in.

Outstanding experience at Izakaya Den. The best fresh sushi and the most informed service staff, in the competitive sushi market. From the welcoming hostess stand, to the knowledgeable staff, the entire experience is never disappointing. Our routine, is lunch at Sushi Den and dinner at Izakaya Den, as frequently as we can work it into our schedule. A reasonable valet service at the front door or a parking garage across the street, highly recommend the total package of great food, great service and great parking availability.

I was first introduced to the Colorado sushi Den empire while attending University of Denver in 1995. Though Izakaya is a "New" restaurant, I would say it's more of an addition to Sushi Den. There are new renditions of old classics like tuna tataki roll and scallop sushi and completely new dishes like The White Dragon roll and the New Osaka style salmon, but most importantly the quality and taste is as excellent and delicious as it was back in 1995! I'm astounded it hasn't changed in all these years. Of course you'll pay for this attention to quality but it's sooo worth visiting at least once while in Denver.
