Sushi was excellent, bento boxes were generous and delicious. Highly recommend. We are big fans of ototo; this was our first time at ototo's sister restaurant Izakaya and we were not disappointed.
Felt a little rushed. Server was fantastic, however the folks clearing the table were hovering and removing dishes prematurely.
Love this place
Especially love the Ramen soups, very fresh sushi and variety of Japanese liquors
You can get seared Shishito peppers and sweet shrimp with fried shrimp heads ( not listed but they have some great stuff that’s not on the menu)
Fun night with family celebrating a birthday. The food never disappoints!
The food was great service was ok, I felt myself trying to get his attention after we ordered our food for more drinks. They ran out of the blue fine toro we were suppose to get, they offered the other toro it but it never came. It was busy but it was not the best experience I have ever had at this restaurant. It was my birthday and I was a little under the weather was really looking for a wow experience unfortunately it did not happen on this trip.
Literally, our favorite restaurant in Denver. We drive from Colorado Springs every month or two, just to dine here. Freshest sushi in the country. Wonderful small plates. We bring our friends and share. Order as you go, not all at once, so you know when to stop! Hard to leave room for dessert, but desserts are great, too. Add in the terrific service and the beauty of this restaurant--what more could you possibly want? Oh, prices are very reasonable, considering the overall value. PS: Don't miss the miso black cod (the portion is splittable for two.)
Love ID. Great restaurant. We loved all the sashimi and tuna steamed buns.
Sushi rolls were uninspired and bland. Nigiri was good. Very disappointing based on reviews and on our experience at Sushi Den. Better to wait in line for Sushi Den.
No volcano rolls and seats are too close together for more private convo
Our meal was absolutely AMAZING. Our service was so poor it made me only give Izakaya Den 4 stars., which hurt!
We had 3 things come out before any of our drinks.
So so. Been there before. It’s solid for a B level sorta experience. Wouldn’t use for business situation as service came off as unprofessional.
This was our first dining experience at Izakaya Den. We were there on a Saturday and we booked our reservation about a week ahead of time; I strongly recommend reservations as the restaurant became busy to the point of people waiting outside for seating. Everything from sushi, sashimi and nigiri to ramen and drinks was impeccable, as was (surprisingly) the service. Everything tasted fresh and clean.
Always a favorite tonight was no exception good sushi and small plates
I usually sit at the bar had a table upstairs a little longer wait than usual but good service and very welcoming
The sister restaurant to Sushi Den. Best in Denver for sure.
Excellent from start to finish
I have been here multiple times and the food is excellent, but the sound levels and price keep me from coming back more often.
It was time for a few friends to share some food and fun. We enjoyed tasting all of our food and did not want to leave, but we had to go at some point.
Our only difficulty that day was getting out of their garage with the ticket. A manager had to come and call the company to release the gate... a rare event I would guess.
Food is always exceptional, place is packed to capacity tables everywhere which is good, but don’t expect privacy or any romance. Service was great, you can tell they care.
Dante and Michael were a great friendly team. Dante was attentive but not overly so.
The food was not as flavorful as it’s been in the past and the service was severely lacking.
Izakaya Den is one of our favorite restaurants. We always have great sushi and like the atmosphere (prefer sitting upstairs).
The food and service was exceptional. We had a waitress named Kim who was so knowledgeable about the menu that we let her pick the sushi for us. So glad we did! We tried some fish that we normally don’t think of and discovered some new favorites! Definitely the best sushi I have had in Colorado and I have had sushi all over Colorado (including Aspen).
Every thing is great but service.. service is not up
To the quality of every thing else
We love “The Den”! Such a wonderful variety tastes.
My wife and I had dinner with my son and our daughter-in-law. We had a wonderful dinner. The food was spectacular in every way. Thank you.
My party and I were very disappointed in our dinning experience. Our server Rosco was awful. It took us 3 1/2 hours to eat. Every time Rosco left it would take him 40 minutes just to come back. They table next to us, which set the same amount of people, turned over three times. This was a very disappoint birthday experience.
The service was awful. The manager had to take our orders because we were being ignored and he even forgot to put our order in. After saying something to the manager, he didn’t offer to discount any of our check. We will not be returning.
Great service, food and wine!
The food and service were great! We were treated very well and the server was attentive.
My favorite for sushi in Denver!
Most amazing sushi ever! Great sake sekection
Izakaya is a great restaurant and we have been before. The only reason I gave the ambiance a fair rating is because we went on Valentine's Day. It was extremely loud and the tables were very close together. I much prefer the restaurant on a normal service day. I will be doing a holiday the next day from now on. The service was good despite how busy they were.
Absolutely love this place, probably one of the best sushi places in town, if not the best. It's pricey but amazing quality of food and very nicely decorated too. If cost isn't a big deal, you can't go wrong here.
Had excellent service and food was delicious
Very good food, but should be noted that the entrées are more like tapas or small plates. The spare ribs were amazing but needed a side of rice to soak up the delicious sauce.
This time I have to say we were disappointed with the service. We ordered several sushi rolls and asked them to be prepared with brown rice. The server then said, let me write that down so I don’t forget! The entire order arrived with white rice. We felt horrible asking her to remake the entire order so we decided to accept it as it was with white rice. We expected to see an adjustment to the bill (a comped roll or cocktail?!) to thank us for our flexibility but no, nothing. We left disappointed and angry for not being more insistent about our order.
Izakaya is my favorite restaurant, great date night place. Service is almost always great, food is amazing every time.
Izakaya Den, like Sushi Den, is a top-notch restaurant. The food and preparation is exceptional, especially for Denver, CO. It is clear that the owners strive for excellence, if not perfection. As a woman diner, and on this occasion, dining with another woman, I find - and found on this occasion - that servers, hostesses, and the responsible restauranteurs are dismissive and not as caring/careful with "older" women dining on their own. On this occasion, we were given a table in the middle of the restaurant, even though we had reservations for a week in advance. There were tables on the perimeter of the space that looked to have a bit more charm and privacy, and looked to be more comfortable, and we were not offered one. Plus, our server, spoke very fast and seemed to be in a huge rush each time she engaged with us. I just want to convey that middle-aged women should not be treated this way. It is done so often, that I believe that this hopefully unconscious behavior is becoming more and more explicit, and it is suggestive of poor manners and behavior.
