I have been for dinner several times. I was disappointed in the brunch food.
regular visitor, loved it!
Awesome service and food
I was hesitant to return to Irving Street Kitchen after reading some of the reviews. We came here three years ago and had a lovely meal. Three years later and the meal was just as good! We thought we had simply imagined how good the butterscotch pudding was . . . but when we had it again, we realized it really IS THAT GOOD! Lovely evening. Hope to come back again the next time we are in Portland.
I have been here a few times casually and for birthdays. Great food, amazing drinks, and great service! I will be back.
took out of town guests there and enjoyed our visit. Dinner was good not great, most dishes were pretty good but again not great, service or kitchen seemed to take a long time for our courses to be served so much so that everyone kind of noticed.
Brunch on Ssturday: not terribly impressed. Had Moroccan Eggs which was basically deliciously thick and flavorful tomato soup in a bowl with two poached eggs on/in it. Came with crunchy bread toasted and brushed with garlic but unfortunately a bit burnt. We also had basic breakfast on a board (how do they get those clean?!) which was nothing special.
We take out of town guests here all the time. Wonderful food
Interesting menu! Had a drink at the bar, great old fashion! Seated for dinner, great service. The fried chicken is their signature dish. Halibut was in season and supebly cooked and loved the biscuits and ham appetizer. Will go back, great ambiance!!
Hadn't been to Irving Street Kitchen since they opened and wanted to give it another try. Our server was delightful. Cocktails were really good, yet ever thing we ordered was underwhelming.
Tasty food and wine as usual. Excellent service. Our guests appreciated the decor.
The cheese plate was almost nonexistent, one tiny sliver of cheese per person. Also, the main courses were very inconsistent in the portioning. We also had to wait about 5 minutes for the last main course to come out. Over priced and not enough flavor for the meals we had.
Fantastic as always
We spend our anniversary every year at the place we met - and it never disappoints....
Brunch:Gravlax Benedict was very good with a thick hollandaise although the plate could have had a small side for plating. The hash was very good with shaved asparagus, beans and egg. The Bloody Marys were balanced with three smoked cocktail onions.....the side of chicken was a moist, tender thigh with the right amount of batter, crispy and not salty like so many fried chicken dishes are. The waiter we had was a bit indifferent to his customers vibe, pushing for orders before our drinks arrived. There was a lack of connecting with his customer and because of that we went elsewhere for coffee and dessert.
The decor is open, moderate for noise level and all and all comfortable with quality food. This was the first time I've encountered the attitude, otherwise while it could have been more enjoyable experience we enjoyed ourselves with good food.
This is our “ go to “ restaurant . Always good food , great menu & great service
Overall, food was good and the atmosphere is cool. Service was not attentive and rather distracted.
Everything on the dining month menu was great-freah ingredients, nicely seasoned and prepared, with excellent service. They left nothing to be desired
The new and improved bloody Mary mix is delish and the waffle board with a side of fried chicken is the best way to start the weekend!
The cocktails were great. The ambiance was on fleek and the decore/ vibe makes it feel very comforting, with a contemporary twist. Definitely a place you want to try at least once. Just make sure you have a comfortable wallet ;) $.
We enjoyed our meal very much. The hamachi carpaccio & dessert were so tasty!
The third course took awhile to come out, but overall a great experience! Very kind and professional staff.
Loved it for our date night! They accommodated our semi tight schedule and the food and drinks were top notch
I would have given a better review except for the mediocre waiter. After he recommended a local vodka, he never returned and asked how it was (awful). He never quite got the wine pairings matched up in size or sequence, nor did he ever tell us where they were from.
Also, we sat next to a very noisy table. Couldn't wait to leave.
The food was good, though I have had better friend chicken. Butterscotch pudding was amazing. Order and take it home!
Neighborhood favorite for a upscale experience. Great ambiance with amazing food. We went for a late brunch on Sunday specifically for their new menu item, Apricot scones with Meyer lemon glaze. Ended up also having the lox eggs Benedict. Everything was superb.
Great culinary experience. Only thing was getting a wobbly table and when we requested a booth, we were denied and offered another table. The booths were the highlight of the restaurant. Great food. Irritable waiter, i guess.
We have enjoyed many dinners and private parties at ISK. Never disappointed. This is food for foodies, especially those with a soft spot for Mom's or, perhaps Grandma's, cooking. Every dish is both traditional and new. Not sure how Chef Sarah does it - magical.
Our first visit was on St' Patrick's day. We had a reservation, but were seated 15 min early. Great wine and food was great. Would go back to enjoy additional menu items.
I had waffle, fried egg, & bacon on a plank. It was beautiful and tasty. My friend who had yogurt said she could eat the yogrut all day!
Loved the decire. We were there for a burthday celebration for my daughter and all the girls just loved everything about it. I’d love to go back and be seated with curtain to get cozy!
The food was wonderful, but it took a long time from the time we were seated to get a drink. The wait for the food would have been much more tolerable if drinks had been easier and faster to get. (We had to flag someone down to get a second drink after our firsts had been long empty!) But once that happened, all was great!
Excellent food for Portland Dining month. Our booth allowed us to catch up with friends we hadn’t seen in awhile.
I've wanted to go here for years but am a creature of habit and usually stay East Side. I am so happy I made it in thanks to Portland Dinning Month. This will become a staple of our rotating date night spots.
The Tuna and Pot de Creme on the tasting menu were fantastic!
Great Meal - Great atmosphere.
I highly recommend It😀
Service was horrid.. Waiter was rude.. Was like pulling teeth to get him to help us understand the menu. We will not be back
Food was exceptional. We had the Portland Monthly menu. The trout with poached egg and duck confit were superb. However, the wine list offered hardly any wines under $40.
We came to take advantage of the Restaurant month specials. The food was delicious and was nicely presented. The both we sat in was spacious and the temperature if the restaurant was perfect. I loved the creamy chocolate desert.
Amazing menu for the dining month. All three courses were amazing, I had the duck, one of my best meals in Portland so far
Great Ambiance, interesting menu, and good service. Some of the food was honestly hit and miss. The spiced olives and the spoon bread were definitely our favorites. Nothing was bad at all but it seemed as though a lot of the food that they were creating sounded better on paper than how it was actually executed. Overall it was still a very nice meal. The only odd experience out of the whole thing was dessert. We got there angel food cake dish. For me, personally it did not work at all! Very out of balance and the flavors did not work well together. I took one bite of it and then told my boyfriend it was all his to enjoy. As I made that comment our server, Kelsi, walked by and overheard me say it. From that point on she barely acknowledged us much less said more than 2 words to us for the rest of our meal. Overall we had a really nice evening, i just wish it hadn't ended on such a weird note.
Service was extremely poor and disinterested. Few people at 6:30 when we arrived so there was no reason for a drink to take 20 minutes and two requests.
Normally this is a well run restaurant but this evening everything was lacking. Slack service was also disinterested service with no thought to anticipate needs. Even water and bread service poor.
Meal was adequate. Fish was over cooked and the chicken lukewarm.
Very disappointing for an expensive multi-course meal.
Went as part of Portland dining month and was not disappointed. Both the regular and the PDM menus looked amazing. Honestly would probably never have eaten here otherwise since downtown has gotten so crazy but I can't wait to go back.
It was great. Food was incredible
