In 1979, after over 20 years of experience in the restaurant industry, Joe Impastato opened Impastato’s in Metaire. Only 5 years before, his brother Sal opened Sal and Judy’s in Lacombe. Now the family of restaurants extends to Madisonville with the opening of Impastato Cellars on September 5, 2013. The Impastato family decided to bring the same traditional, authentic Italian cuisine to the table on the Northshore along with the old world ambiance of a 600 square foot wine cellar featuring over 400 labels, in addition to a wide variety of spirits and craft beers.

The food was delicious, very generous portions- enjoyed the preparation of fettuccine at the table by the owner! And the staff was attentive, efficient and gracious! All this in an inviting atmosphere made for an enjoyable, memorable experience! We definitely will return often!

We sat on the back screen porch and had a lovely dinner celebrating a College Graduation. Our server was fabulous and she was very personable too! Our food was delicious. It was a great memory!

We live on the Southshore and will drive to Impastato Cellars EVERY TIME. I don’t know nor do I care who owns which but it is hands down worth the trip to the Northshore. Delicious every time, reservations correct, noise lower, everything better.

First time dining here and it did not disappoint ! We ordered the five course Veal and Redfish Marcelo and everything was delicious. The wine list was excellent! The wait staff was on point and made it a fabulous experience for us. We strongly recommend that you add them to your list of “ must eat there” restaurants. Thank you!

This was an awesome experience! We were seated immediately on the outside porch,which was great. Our waitress was there right away to take our orders. The appetizers came in just a few minutes, and were wonderful. The food also came right away and was all wonderful!! We had guests from Dallas and they raved about the food, saying it was one of the best meals they had ever had, and said they would definitely come back there on their next trip!

My biggest complaint is waiting 35 minutes to be seated for a reservation. Turns out 7 people had a 7:30 reservation and we all waited about 35 minutes to get seated. Some longer.

Food is consistently wonderful and portion sizes are large so take home boxes are usually necessary. The Fettucine Alfredo is the best I've ever had. Kylee, our waiter, did an excellent job.

Redfish was so small, questioned even if it was redfish at all. Dish not as pictured. I expected the entire plate to be covered and was barely half size. Certainly not worth the price. It was tasty but I left hungry. Was also out of several items; no excuse for being out of eggplant.

Reserved on line. Was seated on porch with outside temp near freezing. Heater near our table not working properly. Staff brought portable heater that also did not work. Staff said they would bring another portable heater which they never did. After several request we were moved to an inside table where it was comfortable. Food was very good.
