In 1979, after over 20 years of experience in the restaurant industry, Joe Impastato opened Impastato’s in Metaire. Only 5 years before, his brother Sal opened Sal and Judy’s in Lacombe. Now the family of restaurants extends to Madisonville with the opening of Impastato Cellars on September 5, 2013. The Impastato family decided to bring the same traditional, authentic Italian cuisine to the table on the Northshore along with the old world ambiance of a 600 square foot wine cellar featuring over 400 labels, in addition to a wide variety of spirits and craft beers.

My biggest complaint is waiting 35 minutes to be seated for a reservation. Turns out 7 people had a 7:30 reservation and we all waited about 35 minutes to get seated. Some longer.

Food is consistently wonderful and portion sizes are large so take home boxes are usually necessary. The Fettucine Alfredo is the best I've ever had. Kylee, our waiter, did an excellent job.

Redfish was so small, questioned even if it was redfish at all. Dish not as pictured. I expected the entire plate to be covered and was barely half size. Certainly not worth the price. It was tasty but I left hungry. Was also out of several items; no excuse for being out of eggplant.

Reserved on line. Was seated on porch with outside temp near freezing. Heater near our table not working properly. Staff brought portable heater that also did not work. Staff said they would bring another portable heater which they never did. After several request we were moved to an inside table where it was comfortable. Food was very good.

Our first time going and it was a wonderful experience. My only critique would be smaller servings on the 5 course so you could really savor your entree and still have room for dessert. We had to take a lot home. But the food was incredible. The fettuccini noodles have spoiled me I can’t eat any other pasta now. Lol

I really had high hopes for this experience, but it lacked in every way! The food tasted like it was bought from Sysco and opened out the can. The wine list was below par. The service - server lacked wine knowledge and couldn’t open a bottle of champagne. We will never visit this restaurant again!

Let's just say the restaurant had an off day. Eaten at this restaurant many times, on this date the usually great restaurant had an off day. Service was a little slow, food was warm to cool (not hot). As mentioned above, usually this restaurant would have gotten high ratings from me, just not this time. I won't let one unsatisfactory visit stop me from going back.

I would not say they are very accommodating to veterans on Veterans Day. Also, my husband’s birthday. The table next to us got a nice surprise for their birthday, yet my husband did not.

The food was decent. Our apps were cold. But everything else was great. Strongly reccomend that cappuccinos. Service was terrible. . Waitress kept forgetting things. Kept trying to offer or friend who we stated several times does not drink, alcohol. Then was truly Inconvenienced by our request to split the check and assumed one person was picking up a table of 9. We spent 3 hours here... pomegranate margarita was the best part.

Veal was so thin I couldn’t taste it inside the breading. Salad dressing watery. Shrimp was farm raised and almost tasteless. Crab was above excellent and saved the meal.

Wide ranging menu including the best of Impastato's in Metairie and Sal and Judy's in Lacombe. Very nice looking building inside and out. Service was excellent and very attentive and the food was also very good. We all got the 5 course prefix dinner and liked our selections from appetizers through to dessert. We will be back.

I made reservations a few days in advance and that was smooth. Then parking was good and not too tight. The abiance was spot on our server was attentive, and the food was delicious and with nice portions. A wonderful choice of venue for my wife and I to celebrate life. Last time we had visited was before COVID and it is even better now. Highly recommended in my book!!!

We went to Impastatos on a Friday night for our anniversary. I was glad we made a reservation on Open Table because they were very busy. Our young waiter was very professional and attentive. We got the five course meal which was so delicious and a great value. Mine was $40 for Redfish Payton, seafood stuffed artichoke bottom, salad, freshly made fettuccine and homemade cheesecake. Everything was very good. They brought out a sparkler on our dessert, so be careful if you tell them about your special occasion, lol. Highly recommend.
