In 1979, after over 20 years of experience in the restaurant industry, Joe Impastato opened Impastato’s in Metaire. Only 5 years before, his brother Sal opened Sal and Judy’s in Lacombe. Now the family of restaurants extends to Madisonville with the opening of Impastato Cellars on September 5, 2013. The Impastato family decided to bring the same traditional, authentic Italian cuisine to the table on the Northshore along with the old world ambiance of a 600 square foot wine cellar featuring over 400 labels, in addition to a wide variety of spirits and craft beers.

I don’t know how many times I can say how much I love this restaurant. Just awesome in every way. And a big shout out to my favorite waitresses, Monica and Carmen. You two sweethearts made my 70th birthday on this earth to never be forgotten. All the girls behind the scenes singing to me was awesome. I love you all and will be back soon. I was not pleased with my experience this visit. My Veal Payton did not taste the same. Last time I had lumped crab meat on top and this time it was omitted which changed the taste. I was disappointed because it was our anniversary and I wanted to enjoy the evening. We were celebrating with friends and 3 people ordered veal Payton and none of us had the crab meat.

From the moment we entered, we were taken care of. Monica was our waitress and she was outstanding. The food was delicious from crab claws, gumbo, to our entree, everything was fantastic. WE will be back as Impastatos is now our favorite location on the Northshore. Thanks again for a wonderful evening.

This restaurant is the best place, bar none. I proposed here, I come here for every family event that I can, and I get married in a few days so of course I chose here to eat with my finance as one final date before the day! Eat here. Don’t even think about it.

Had a fantastic dinner!! Our waitress Teresa was pleasant and attentive to our needs. Everyone in my party of 4 loved their meals. Shrimp scampi was so delicious. The homemade fettuccine Alfredo was wonderful. The Veal Marcelo was perfect. We ended the meals with delicious desserts . We were celebrating my 32nd wedding anniversary and I would definitely return again.

This was our first visit though we’ve been wanting to go for some time. We both had the five course meal option and each dish was phenomenal! The tables were close together but it was still quiet and we enjoyed every bit of each other for our date night! I will recommend every time! 10/10!!!

We went to Impastato Cellars for our anniversary lunch - #57. I enjoyed the sublime artichoke soup and delicate, paper-thin fettuccine Alfredo before a generous plate of perfect veal pane'. Hubby' s seafood gumbo was loaded with large pieces of crab meat which he bragged about. His veal parm really filled up a whole plate and it was delicious. There was a male singer entertaining the room with Sinatra-style tunes. Alfresco dining is available. A real gem here.

Food was okay. I had the redfish Marcello which had good flavors but I ended up with a few bones that stabbed me in my mouth. The steak was not very good at all. It had an overwhelming "beefy" taste kinda like if a fish can be too fishy tasting but I've never had a steak taste like that so that was unexpected. The red sauce was actually excellent over the tortillni and so were the crab claws.

We did the Tammany tasting menu and had 5 amazing courses EACH for $40. The stuffed artichoke bottoms, redfish, shrimp au gratin, and all the desserts were fantastic!!! We will be back.

Great staff. Great food, and beautiful place. Owners also meet and converse with the patrons. Thursday night was a treat with Ryan singing Frank Sinatra songs. Service was very attentive to our needs.

Did not have my confirmed Open Table reservation at the restaurant, not sure who’s side the issue was on, but not a pleasant discovery on a busy Friday night. Luckily they were able to fit us in, and we had a lovely dinner.

Had to ask for taste of tammany menu, waited 10 minutes for it. Waitress seemed annoyed that we asked for it. One person in our party’s order was not taken correctly and therefore did not get what they ordered. Overall, disappointed with our reservations here.
