The Hula Grill was great! The service was fast, food was delicious and view was amazing! Highly recommend!
Fun and friendly atmosphere. Service staff were all pleasant.
We always visit the hula grill when we come to Waikiki. Food in the atmosphere are always great!
We went there for brunch and the food was delicious. Enjoyed the Prosecco too!
Great venue right on the beach. Fantastic staff, and delicious food. One of my go-to places whenever I have friends visiting.
Reservation allowed me to bypass wait times. Food and drink came out quickly. Comped my desert as it was my birthday! Overall great meal and good view
I had the crab wontons and the famous Hula Pie.
Our Server, Ally was truly amazing. I come to Waikiki every year for my birthday.
Enjoyed a beautiful, romantic dinner overlooking Waikiki lit with Tiki torches and mellow live music. Hula Grill lived up to its reputation for a romantic setting with great food. I really enjoyed their two specialties: a delicious, strong Mai Tai and macadamia nut-crusted mahi-mahi. Highly recommend for a quiet evening out in the middle of Waikiki central.
Fantastic experience! Food and service are excellent, and the ambiance can't be beat. Don't be discouraged if you can't get a resv. downstairs at Duke's. The view is exactly the same and it takes the "rain" factor out of the equation, as seating here does not leave you exposed to the whims of the elements, like Duke's.
I'm writing this as the former Maitre'D of what was the #1 restaurant in the State of Hawaii back in the 80's and 90's, Nicholas Nickolas, The Restaurant. As any restauranteur knows, it is impossible to have a dining experience without naturally critiquing the place. This restaurant is a great value all the way around. You should definitely add it to your itinerary, especially if you are visiting Hawaii. Book reservations WAY IN ADVANCE; like a month in advance. If not, expect to be locked out. And book it for 5:00-5:30 time slot so that you can get a seat with a fantastic view of the sunset.
10/10 recommend this place! The food and the view was beyond amazing!
This is as good as it gets! You enjoy open air, with an expansive Waikiki Beach view, from one floor up. The waitstaff here is always efficient and friendly. The menu has an abundant offering and varied enough to please all. The toast is really nice artisan bread with seeds...the eggs are local and fresh. A nice side to any of the breakfasts is the half papaya with berries and lime. My friend got an omlet - it was massive and came with toast or rice. Refillable cup of coffee. You cannot go wrong here, day or night. Awesome venue and quality food.
Our reservation was at 7am. We were the second party in line. And all of a sudden 3 different parties cut us and the hostess checked them in and didn’t even acknowledge us while we have been waiting. That was annoying.
Our waitress was kind and checked on us often. The view was great.
It was just annoying waiting in line and having a reservation just to let others cut myself and the other coupe ahead of us.
Nice meal. Beautiful location overlooking the ocean.
We had the rib-eye chop and mahi mahi. Both were fantastic. The best steak I’ve had in years. Ambiance is nice and we had a table closest to the ocean. With a reservation we were seated immediately. Service was outstanding.
Food was good but the overall feeling is chaotic and slightly rushed. Mainly due to the front desk experience. It’s not a romantic place but does have a nice view of Waikiki beach. Prices seemed reasonable. Waiter was pleasant.
We had an absolute blast. The manager Luke was the best I've seen all week. We had my birthday dinner there and had top notch service and food went back a few days later he remembered who we were and we got top notch service again. The food was the best that I had in years visiting Waikiki. Everybody was so friendly so attentive. Thank you so much for making our dinners memorable.
It was a very nice experience to eat at the Hula Grill. We were pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere, the entertainment and the scenery. The food was awesome and our waiter was very attentive.
From the moment we stepped into the restaurant, we noted the smile and prompt service. The waitress offered recommendations when asked. My husband ordered mahi-mahi and I ordered the loco moco, and both were cooked to perfection. We listened to live music from Duke’s, which was one floor down. The view of Waikiki Beach was just what we wanted. Highly recommended.
Accommodating, which we appreciated. We asked for a table closest to the ocean front and they were able to give us this. Thank you Hula Grill!
A great place for breakfast. A nice view on the balcony and the food was very good.
It was a perfect evening! Our waitress was attentive and the meal was timed perfectly. The mac nut shrimp were the best appetizer we’ve had in a very long time! Our meals were both very good (fish and chips for him, shrimp carbonara for me). We shared a piece of hula pie, and it was just as good as we had heard. The ambiance was perfect with the musicians playing down at Duke’s and the waves just a few steps away.
Love this place, my favorite restaurant in Honolulu.
Great food with good friends!
Amazing! Definitely best place and ambiance on the strip. Book ahead, Duke’s and Hula Grill are booked out 2 months ahead with COVid restrictions. You must go here, and get Hula pie. We’ve been to the locations on Maui 6 years ago and was happy to get again in Oahu.
They did not disappoint. Went there with a friend to celebrate her birthday. We’re able to be seated at a rail table (which I had requested).
Drinks were great, food, excellent, and the surprise birthday dessert was superb!
Ally was our waitress and she was friendly, attentive, and provided the best experience ever.
Thank you Hula Grill, for exemplifying the best of dining experiences in our community!
Great location right on the beach. We went for Sunday brunch sat at a table with Diamond Head in full view and enjoyed the seafood omelette which might be the best omelette I've ever had.
The restaurant overall was incredible. We sat on the deck overlooking the beach. Our server was great. I believe his name was Luke. He was knowledgeable about the menu and did a great job of making us feel welcome. The food was very flavorful and priced right.
We were celebrating the last night of our honeymoon. We would highly recommend this restaurant!
Good food with a great view! A must! Loved our ocean view seating and the live entertainment coming from Duke’s!!
We had a delightful sunset view dinner at Hula Grill! Scrumptious food, great, helpful , friendly service. A must while in Waikiki
Delicious food, excellent service; highly recommend!!
