The first hint that things would not go well was the two of us being sat a booth big enough for 8. We ordered cocktails and were told the bar was busy so not to expect them for a while. The cocktails came moments before a salad that was adequate but nothing special. Shortly after we were served a shared meal of crabmeat and mahi mahi. The macadamia crust was too salty, the rice side dish had no flavor and the pineapple beurre blanc was little more than chunks of pineapple - the shared meal was not fully eaten by the two of us. The waitress appropriately elevated our dissatisfaction after asking if we would “like a sauce to put on it” presumably to mask the salt (as an aside - we were very curious as to what “sauce” the chef would recommend to cure this abomination). The assistant manager was kind but when we said we thought the crab meat amount was too small he explained it was “a garnish” (the second memorable quote of the evening). At this point we were grateful the decision was made not to charge us for this dreadful dinner. The ambiance was lovely and the staff kind but the dinner? Awful.
Staff great, service good, ravioli main course was tasteless, rubbery and had to send back. Caesar salad was unseasoned and the tonic for the gin was off so had to return it. Great job on the service, ambience and location but need to pick up the quality of the food. Will try again because of the staff and location.
This was the perfect way to wind down our honeymoon. We had a reservation on the deck overlooking the beach during sunset hours, and we were not disappointed. The food was great for the price, and they served me the best Mai tai I have ever had. We also got to listen to some of the outdoor music from one of the restaurants next door on the beach, which was beach-themed ukulele music. We will definitely come back here when we return to Oahu.
We were seated per our request. Made a reservation on yelp. Service and food was very good and the live music was a nice experience.
A rainbow ever appeared for our viewing pleasure.
Can’t beat getting dinner here on the deck during sunset. The food was delicious and service is fantastic!
Excellent food and service. Hula pie is super. View of sunset is worth the trip
Hostesses were amazing! Waiter seemed like he had something else on his mind, but, was ok. Food was good. Took about 25+ minutes to get my beer after finishing my food. Waiter definitely forgot, it was apparent. View was amazing.
Horrible service. Amazing food and views as always. Return customer x20 times at least
Great food & service
Sunset is outstanding to view
Lauren was an excellent server. Our food was cooked perfectly. The fish was tasty and tender; Well season and attractively presented. Beautiful view and excellent COVID protocols. So glad to enjoy a meal here.
Really good food & service. Sunsets to to be remembered forever
We had an awesome waitress. We had a reservation and didn’t have any wait to be seated. Food was excellent. Pricey but worth it.
Not as good as it once was. Quality has gone down from the stained coffee mugs, funky outdoor smells while dining on the outdoor terrace to the weekend breakfast brunch that wasn’t as enjoyable as it has been in the past.
Just okay...service was very slow. Food was okay and drinks seemed watered down. Noisy due to the restaurant downstairs (Duke’s). Most likely would not return.
View of the beach and water was very nice. The banana and macadamia nut pancakes were great!
Last day on the island and wanted a final meal near the ocean and the hula grill did just that. The view was spectacular and our server was super sweet. The loco moco was yummy and huge could of easily fed 2-3 people.
Beautiful view of the ocean! Make sure to try the banana Mac pancakes and the iced chata cocktail! Yummy!!!
Came here for a last minute lunch for a scenic view and it did not disappoint! I was not expecting much but the crab Benedicts blew me away! I also enjoyed the loco loco very much even though I’m usually not a fan. The pancakes were also on point. The only complaint i would have is the service. Waiter didn’t seem too interested in us and barely said much, even when we said thank you a couple of times, he didn’t really respond. Other than that, it was lovely.
Excellent food and service. Great view. Hula pie for desert is superb
The food and service were excellent
Never had a bad experience
Wonderful! Good food and service.
Best dinner we had in Hawai’i. Live music was a little loud but the music was good so can’t really complain! Food and service was really great! Will visit again when we return.
Nice views of the ocean and very good service. Food was ok, but nothing exceptional. We ordered the fish tacos and they were solid.
We had a lovely dining experience here many years ago, and decided to make reservations for our daughter’s 19th birthday dinner. Sadly, it is not the same place as it was years ago. It is quite dirty and more of a casual dining restaurant, rather than the nice restaurant we remembered years ago. I ordered one of the specials, Prime Rib. It wasn’t cooked as I ordered and the sauce on top of it was like gray sludge. I don’t think we will be returning.
Everything was great best of Mai tai thank you.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Hula Grill. The macadamia nut shrimp appetizer was amazing and the calamari steak appetizer very tender. We also enjoyed their bread (included with meal) with the sweet chilly dipping sauce. Somehow we saved room for the special main course which was fresh ono and mahi-mahi. Everything was delicious, service and ambiance superb. We highly recommend.
Great spot but way overpriced
We had a great dinner with great service from Quinn our waiter... He and the cooking staff accommodated all my gluten and egg allergies.. We had a wonderful time with a great view and we highly recommend..
For big party events
We visited on a Sunday night when Henry Kapono was playing. Service was great. Food was good. Awesome to see and hear the Hawaii music legend Henry Kapono. Highly recommend.
Excellent service and food. Will definitely come back.
Amazing food and the view is hard to beat!
Food and everything was good just disappointed we didn’t get a rail side table since we’d requested one when booking over a month in advance.
Our server, Bentley was awesome!!! The food was amazing. Headed back there tomorrow for breakfast.
