House of Prime Rib
Always a great time dining at the house of prime rib. Our go to place each time we come to sf.
Great dinner experience for our Family of 4. We had reservations and were able to sit down earlier due to open availability. Service was excellent and food was delicious.
Best waiter we've ever had!!! Delicious meal!!!!
Literally sat down for less then 10minutes. We both had our drinks. Warm bread, with some butter. Placed our order, and with in 5minutes had our plates. My 17year old daughter stated "this was faster then McDonald's, and this is real food". Love this place, I try to come at least 4 times a year.
As far as room and being crammed in with a bunch of people I'm not four but the food was Second To None House of Prime Rib is one of the best steakhouses in America.
5 star bday meal
Always delicious and a great time. Only drawback on this visit was the noise level; we were seated near two large, very drunk parties.
We would definitely go back! The food was outstanding.
delicious as always. we got an extra yorkshire pudding which was a nice touch but waaaaay too much food. they didn't come around with more beef jus though and i would have liked it.
THE SERVICE AND FOOD WERE WHAT I EXPECTED, KIND PEOPLE THAT EXPLAINED WHAT WAS NEEDED AND THE FOOD WAS GREAT AND PLENTY TO FILL ANY APPETITE.
My team thoroughly enjoyed this meal and having the NBA Finals on TV just added to the fun!
Service was very slow... but the food was awesome as usual
One of favorite restaurants to dine in for a special occasion. The service is always great. Too: let your waitress/waiter know that you’re celebrating and occasion and you’ll receive a little surprise. They also provide a complimentary souvenir picture.
Requested a quiet table and was seating next to screaming children on both sides of our booth. Celebrating my husband’s birthday. Was extremely noisy and could not enjoy our meal.
Our server was fabulous and we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. We were in town from San Antonio and had heard all about House of Prime Rib, so we had to try it! It was DELICIOUS!!! This will definitely be our new tradition every time we come back to San Francisco!
Bday, such a great experience
I love House of Prime Rib, having been coming here since I was in my teens. Food is still consistently spectacular. I eat everything! Service is still attentive. The only reason I did not give 5 stars all around is the noise level. For just a wonderful meal, I would love to be able to have a conversation with my dinner party, without shouting or leaning across the table to hear them. Perhaps I'm getting older, but I don't recall the noise level being this high 5 or even 10 years ago.
I would definitely recommend HOPR because normally it is GREAT and I'm hoping this was just an off night. The steak was very fatty. I got less than half of the meat after cutting away the fat. I understand fat gives it flavor but I also want to enjoy some of the meat itself. :D The salad was amazing as always. The side of creamed spinach was so small. Normally it's a decent portion but this was all of 3-4 bites with a fork. Normally you also have a choice of a baked potato or mashed but for some reason they said they were not making any baked potatoes that night. Seems like a really odd thing to be out of or not able to make for an entire evening. Other than it was all good. Normally it's nothing less than perfect so again, I'm hoping it was a fluke and not a downgrade in its normal service. Will definitely give it another chance and update this review as needed!
Steaks were all over cooked. The chef made our orders wrong.
This place is for people who have no idea what real fine dining is. It is purely a tourist trap with low quality ingredients, service, and ambiance...
El mejor prime rib
Was amazing!!! its little bit noisy but the food is delicious!
Birthday celebration; excellent service and outstanding food! Always a top notch dining experience!
We love this place! The service was good but this time felt much too “canned” and unauthentic. I get it, this place is an “attraction” but I’d rather the servers avoid falling into the mundane delivery of a routine drill. Xx HOPR we still love you.
Excellent, as always. We love the King Henry Cut with creamed spinach. Always look forward to coming back next time I'm in San Francisco.
Great night! Great food! Our favorite place to eat.
We had a wonderful time there as always celebrating two of our friends birthdays. Orlando was our server that evening and he elevated our dining experience. He was very personable and attending. Can’t wait to go back! Thanks
Great food. Great service. Just a bit loud. It was celebrating Father’s Day earlier.
Four of us enjoyed dinner here on a recent Sunday night with reservations at 7:30pm. (We made the reservations in April!) We were led to a less noisy area in the back of the restaurant. The table was pretty cramped, but we were able to place items like flowers, candle, seasonings, water carafe on the sides of our booth to make some space. The salad was made fresh at the table with tasty dressing. The prime rib was perfect, and arrived at the desired done-ness for each of us. The sides of potato, Yorkshire pudding, and creamed spinach or corn were all good. The baked potato is practically a meal in itself! We shared a Fantasy Cake (a layer of chocolate cake and a layer of cheesecake) and that was delicious, too. Our server, Tim, was very good, despite being a newer server at HOPR. He was attentive and managed our requests nicely. We felt it was a very good value, since our dinners, drinks, and shared dessert came out to about $75 per person. Not a bad tab for dinner at a San Francisco tradition!
Absolutely amazing time dining at HoPR on Sunday. Our waiter, Aaron, couldn't be more courteous and attentive with our party of three (two of which was their first time there). Really appreciated his kindness and overall personality as we're just simple guys who wanted to have a relaxing meal. He was so engaged in our small talk and was patient with us when looking over the wine list. Please send him our praises! The food was amazing as I remembered and appreciated the extra slice after our initial plate. Thank you to all the staff and chefs! We will be back!
Love the tradition the taste the amazing prime rib and the great cocktails and wine list. lol forward to our next visit.
We love to eat at the House of Prime Rib, and have been doing so annually for decades. While the food remains fantastic, we were not happy with the Carving Carts not being brought to tableside (as was once always how it was done). Now, the Carving Cart seems to remain in one corner or end of each multi-tabled dining area. The prime rib is carved there, and then brought over to your table.
We asked our waiter for the Carving Cart to be brought over to our table for our dinner. He seemed not happy about our request, responding that that isn't always possible should there be tables/guests in the way. When I responded that we were leaving and would not pay the bill for our wine and salads, he suddenly found it in his heart to find the way to our table. The service was then wonderful and, as usual, so was the food. We're going back in July, 2019. Can't wait.
Normally one of my favorite places to eat. Today it felt very rushed. Plus the seating was more crowded then normal, which also made it louder. The food is still great so I would go back in a heart beat. I just hope this was just on off night.
Upon my first time arriving at your establishment I was greeted friendly by the front host. However there was no where to sit in the lounge and I was told by a girl to go sit in the hallway and she would come get me when a table is available. I then proceeded to watch people come in after me and seat Themselves at tables in the lounge as they opened and the girl did not come and get me. Upon approaching the girl she said that it was first come first serve and I asked her why she said she would come and get me. She then apologized and proceeded to ask me if I wanted anything to drink with my three other guests. As we were ordering a bottle of champagne the house that sits us down dark hair pulled back wearing white was ready to set us down For our reservation. The noise at the restaurant on a Saturday is quite loud and it is very chaotic. I watched one of the ladies which was the one that sat us at our table walk around with an attitude towards everybody and be rude to the staffing. Our waiter was kind and considerate of our needs and wants. The food was phenomenal and your champagne and wine listing is impressive. I would recommend this place but on the weekdays.
Everything was great except the host when checking in for reservation on Saturday 6/8. It was pecifically a Latino man and woman, very passive-aggressive service and should not be at the front greeting customers in this matter.
The House of Prime Rib is always amazing, never disappoints!
Best prime rib I've ever had. Old school beef. Old school service.
Try it you'll like it .
