Our waiter David was great
Food and service was great however the table was located extremely close to a large party who was rather loud and kept backing their chairs into our small table. The table was also parallel with a main thoroughfare that leads to the restroom. Hard to have a pleasant dinner when there are droves of people coming and going from the restroom, who are bumping into our table while trying to side step servers and other customers who are clogging the small aisle. This is the second time we dined here this month. May think twice about coming back because of this unfortunate dining experience.
the service was great the food was excellent for the price got to sit in the main dining room will be back soon
It was AWESOME !!! Would recommend to all my friends.Well worth coming from Florida
Long time bucket list place. We finally went and were not disappointed. From the time we arrived we were treated like “regular customers.” We have frequently been disappointed with restaurant prime rib - not the case here!!
I highly recommend.
In all my life, I have never, ever been to a louder, more miserable evening at a restaurant.
The noise level is off the charts. The food was OK, service good, but my birthday
evening was miserable because of the noise - a table of 10 men all shouting at each other -
baby screaming, ridiculous noise level. We've been here a few years back and really liked it - it was elegant and the noise level was below average. I don't know what has changed but
we will never, ever go to the House of Prime Rib again.
Good. But got denied for an extra slice of prime rib when splitting a king Henry cut. Boo
Will not be disappointed.
A Place where you van find a excelent food
Sadly, this old city staple has gone downhill. The restaurant was super hot and incredibly loud - it was impossible to have a conversation without yelling across the table. The host was more concerned about texting on his phone vs helping patrons. Our waiter was fine, but it’s clear the main goal is to turn tables. The prime rib itself is tasty, albeit bland, but the salad was so overdressed it was like eating soup. The other sides - mashed potatoes and creamed spinach - were mediocre at best. Think a diner would have been better. Will not be going back anytime soon.
After years of hearing about the House of Prime Rib (HOPR), we finally cashed in our gift certificate last night. While the service was efficient, the restaurant was overcrowded with extremely loud people. The prime rib was average...the best things on the menu were the fish, baked potato and creamed spinach. Once is all you need to go to the HOPR...better yet just leave it to your imagination and skip it all together.
Prime rib was dry and not much flavor. Too much bacon on the salad.
If you like prime rib, this is the place. Basically that is all they serve. Choose the size of the cut and the temperature. And they do it well. Service very efficient and friendly.
Food was great.. wonderful!
I'm little disappointed about the portion of a Henry King cut this time, My Henry King Cut is small and the Bone is seperated from the piece of meat. I wonder if they just give me any piece of bone and match with a left over piece of meat. It is totally different from my previous dining experience with House of Prime rib. For this amount of money, I don't see value for that portion.
I can get much more quality Prime rib with other famous restaurants in the Bay Area. Hope you can look at the control of the Quality and Quantity.
Had a great experience and the food was amazing, per usual, but was a little disappointed that my boyfriend didn't get anything for his birthday. My best friend told me House of Prime Rib usually does at least a small scoop of ice cream with a candle for birthdays, so I was excited to have that to make it a little special for him since we were visiting from LA. Our waiter just might've forgotten because there was a lot going on and a lot of tables to serve, so it's fine. We ended up getting ice cream for dessert at Mitchell's haha. It was still a great meal nonetheless!
Great food, service!
HOPR was not on top of their game last night. The meat was tough, brought at the wrong temp, had to ask for the sides. No good.
It was a celebration of a bday and the staff never mentioned it like the other places I’ve been too. Overall it was a great experience.
The noise levels made it hard to hear the people at my table. Wait staff were overbearing.
Simple menu featuring Prime rib in a completely authentic ambiance. Old school!
Excelent !!!! As always !!! Great Primerib !! Server was excelent
This restaurant is LOUD. My husband and I went for our anniversary, expecting a romantic dinner. That was not the case. We had to scream at each other from across the table to say anything. Our waiter, David, was excellent... but another server went around to every table to pass out cornbread, and our table was the only table we skipped. Couldn’t get his attention because, well - noise. The prime rib was good. Very tender, but similar quality at Texas Roadhouse. All in all, over priced for the experience. Won’t be going back. And the King Henry is not that big.
HPR is a family favorite! We have gone for years and the food is always amazing. Easy menu, come hungry and leave full. I order the English Cut and love the Yorkshire pudding. Salad, cream spinach and mash potatoes—yum!
The House of Prime Rib, along with Harris's and Ruth's Chris, is the place to go for any carnivore. Always reliable and bustling, it can feel like winning a small lottery prize when you score a reservation there. Our waiter for the evening seemed a little "off", but I have no doubt these guys work awfully hard, covering a number of tables with no fewer than 4-6 people at each one. One goes to these establishments for the quality of the meat, and these folks never disappoint.
I have been coming here for over 20 years & the people, service, quality of food is always great I dine here occasionally .
I would highly recommend this restaurant to people who are traveling to the San Francisco area!
Great dxerpoen e
Great meat, great wine, but overwhelming levels of background noise. Still really good, though.
This place is awesome. The service is top notch. The wine is fairly priced (for SF). The prime rib is OUTSTANDING. Can't wait to go back with friends.
Best prime rib in San Francisco
Best restaurant in SF
I have been here more times than I can count. Have always had excellent service and the food was consistently great. This time we got a waiter that was obviously not having a great day. Very lackluster, he treated us like we were just too much work for him. We had to ask him to order cocktails, which is something they always ask you once you sit down. He was just not warm and welcoming. Other than that, food was excellent and from listening to the other waitstaff - they were all wonderful.
Great customer service and awesome food.
One of the best Prime rib i ever had. It’s worth the drive to the city, the service was great and value was worth it.
We were in sanfransisco for a family trip and heard good reviews so we booked in advance and were not disappointed....we walked from our hotel so we were not impressed with the location as the area seemed dirty and rundown and also encountered alot of homeless...but once inside it was very nice and would highly recommend
Awesome... The best prime rib I’ve eaten.
Good food and service!
