House Of Prime Rib Cut
a hearty portion of juicy, tender beef.
The Salad Bowl
a colorful mixture of healthy, crisp, seasonal greens prepared at your table, tossed in our unique house dressing.
A light dish of garden spinach whipped with fresh cream and pieces of bacon.
Iconic, so glad they’re open again.
As delicious as always! Thank you!
It’s just the best! Lives up to its reputation every time!!!
It was just as I remember pre-Covid. Every bite of the meal is perfect and the service is impeccable.
Yummy. Delicious. Will miss the social distance between tables when Pandemic orders are lifted, but understand the need to serve the huge numbers waiting for and wanting a meal here.
Old school prime rib dinner a large 1950
As usual the prime rib was excellent. The Yorkshire pudding was the best we ever had at House of Prime Rib. Get the King Henry cut and bring home anything you can't finish.
Marmalade, our cat, gives 2 paws up for the bones.
As the room filled the noise level increased. It was never at the "exploding bomb" level. We could still have a private conversation.
I hate creamed spinach. The menu does not mention it but they do have creamed corn which I do like.
It was the perfect birthday dinner with excellent service. Impeccable quality of food and drinks. They make a mean Manhattan w/ Woodford Reserve whiskey and the lemon drop cocktail also deserves honorable mention! They give you as many refills as you’d want on all your sides! Been taking friends and family here for over a decade and will continue to do so :)
Great to be back dining inside. Back to pre-pandemic form.
A SF stable glad you’re back HOPR!!!! One of my favorite restaurants in the world an absolute must if you’ve never had or a must to revisit if you have!!!
HOPR continues to excel. Long live the king! ps. unless you are 11 years old. you shouldn't be wearing a t shirt to a dinner in the city.
The food has always been great, this time was spectacular because we had one of the best servers we've ever had at HOPR.
The meat we ordered "medium rare' came almost raw....
We had ordered take out a few months ago and that meat came almost uncooked...very raw....so we ended up cooking the meat so we could eat dinner.
Our companions at dinner reported the same experience with take out...
Needs better quality control and supervision....wait staff could monitor the plates before the guests are served.
I will recommend HOPR, but warn any diner to be clear about what they want and send it back immediately if it is not cooked as ordered
I have been going to The House for over 20 years. And over the past 10 years have been able to share the wonderful experience with my children. The food the service. Everything is always top notch. We have not eaten inside a restaurant in over a year. We felt there was no better place to get back to indoor dining.
10/10 for excellent service and delicious prime rib.
Ultimate classic. Unrivalved value and service. Never disappoints. Also offering to go now which was never a possibility previously. Please book and be ready for a meal you will be thinking about for years to come. I suggest the English Cut !
We were there for my birthday dinner. The entire staff (all wore masks) was very nice. Temperatures were checked at the door. We were seated at a table more than 6ft. from any other table. The meal began with a small loaf of warm bread followed by a delicious salad. Each of us (4) ordered a different cut of beef. Our wait person told us that due to Covid restrictions, the meat could not be carved at the table. No problem as it did not affect the excellence of the Prime and sides. Despite the fact that we were already full, we shared the complimentary birthday ice cream, complete with candle, and shared 1 piece of the Fantasy dessert. Thought it might be too heavy after the meal, but it was so light and scrumptious. Enjoyed leftovers the following day.
Food is delicious. Best prime rib. Loved the salad. Celebrated 40th anniversary. Gave us a free dessert. Our go to place for special occasions.
Always love HOPR: delicious prime ribs, awesome wine selection and consistently great service. During the pandemic shutdown this was one of the few places we missed the most.
We were lucky to get reservations twice since they re-opened. Compared to before, the room was quieter but still lively. During the most recent visit, my cut (king henry 8) was fattier and the creamed spinach was saltier than usual. The wine selection, while smaller, was still abundant and very reasonably priced. Service was outstanding as always. Overall, we had another fabulous time and will seek another reservation whenever possible.
Always a pleasure to dine at House of Prime Rib. It was a different experience this time, but also a good experience. There are distanced tables and hand sanitizers everywhere. The servers are wearing masks and ha die your food with care. The food is still amazing as always.
Overall well experience food was outstanding as well as the drinks were good. Service was very exceptional and I will tip my hat to the chef and server’s.
A delicious experience even with COVID restrictions in place.
I’ve been coming here for decades. Despite the challenge from COVID-19, the quality and service is top notch and if House of Prime Rib ever goes away, I would mourn the loss like a close loved one. This place deserves to be the best restaurant in the world.
One of my favorite restaurant. Always great food and service.
First time there. Enjoyed my dinner. I will come again.
Aaron our server was very accomodating and was on the ball. The food was great, the Chef came around our table to make sure everything was good. There's nothing but good things to say about the service and the food.
Definitely will bring family and friends here again.
We went for a birthday celebration and were very pleased with our entire evening. The food, the cocktails and the desserts did not disappoint.
I was surprised when an opening came up on OpenTable as there is a 3 month wait. So we jumped at the opportunity and glad such an amazing time with fantastic service and delicious food.
Glad they're back open as we were here the last night before they closed last year due to Covid. We were in town from OC and ate here Friday Saturday and Sunday.
The best prime rib!
Being the greatest husband ever, I swung last minute surprise reservations to one of San Francisco’s most beloved and sought-after restaurants: House of Prime Rib.
I ate pickled beets for the first time in my life! The spun salad is amazing and the dressing takes 10 days to make. Also the best sourdough I ever remember eating!! Hands-down best prime rib I’ve ever had; WITH seconds!!
I should really take some blood pressure and cholesterol medication tonight!
But, seriously, feels good to return to “normal,” and especially being normal with one of our favorite spots!
Wonderful attentive staff. Food couldn’t be more perfect. So happy to be back.
Service was great, & food was amazing. Great experience.
Great! The dinner went super smooth. Food was just as good as a remember since the last time I had back in December of 2019 before COVID.
Got some friends together to celebrate getting the COVID vaccine. House of prime rib is the best! The staff made everyone feel comfortable! Food was great and the cocktails were incredible. The quality of ingredients is next to none!
My 24th experience! Simply sublime. Consistency is the food tastes the same now as it did 20 years ago.
Glad they weathered COVID & are open again...an institution
Another wonderful meal at The House of Prime Rib. After a year of waiting, due to the pandemic, we were able to take my grandmother there for her birthday. As always, fantastic service, great drinks, and delicious food. Even with the slight safety changes made due to COVID (meal is brought out to you rather than sliced at the table), the whole experience is always worth it!
Prime rib was warm. Au jus was Luke warm not hot. Had to wait longer than usual but with Covid I guess I can live with it. Martini was $14.50.... don’t recall that.
Impecable service by all. Waiter was very knowledgeable and answered all questions. This was not our first time there, maybe 15th time.
Wine sommelier was great in picking a great wine in our price range. I would have loved to have a Harlan Estate but I will save that for our anniversary.
Will continue to have HPR as one of our go to places.
Service is always fun, upbeat and personable. Food is true , old-school steakhouse style portions with all the flavor and love they can pack in. Absolutely delicious and as consistent as it comes. GREAT place and a real treasure.
