    Overall great dinner. We don’t splurge much for fine dining but so glad we did. Everything was planned and prepared with great care for presentation and taste. Really, really delicious food. Staff was attentive and restaurant was just the right amount of busy so easy to enjoy the meal and our company.

    Always excellent. My wife and I make it our "go to" before shows and concerts in downtown Portland. Food and service never fail to disappoint.

    This is one of Portland’s oldest restaurants; it is also among its best! We rediscovered Higgins last fall, while visiting from Bend. Both experiences—one cocktails and burgers in the bar, and last night in the dining room were outstanding for food and service.

    Food is very good albeit on the expensive side. salmon special was fresh, generous and $55.00 - other than the steak the most expensive item on the menu. I eat vegetarian when possible and they had some delicious options, especially the asparagus, which I would absolutely order again. Nice wine selection and a knowledgeable waiter.

    Iconic Portland favorite, still relevant and amazing. I haven't been in over 5 years and happy to say it's still one of the best restaurants downtown.

    Somewhat disappointing experience. The menu didn't have a lot of diversity. What it did have was mostly ok, but nothing mind blowing. We had a group of 5. One couple shared the ribeye special: overpriced, undercooked, somewhat bland, but generally just disappointing. One couple shared the pork which was over cooked and rubbery, though the flavors were good. And lastly the filet minon which was the only great thing at the table. Well cooked, well flavored, and well balanced. The potatoes side was delightful as well. All in all, rather disappointing for nearly $600.

    The steak special (filet) was tough, overcooked, and way over seasoned. Service was spotty and the noise level was very high. I had read about the history of this restaurant but they are clearly resting on their past laurels. I wish we’d found a more modern restaurant and menu.
