    My boyfriend and I ate here on a Sunday and had a great time. There was live music with a piano and cello that was perfect. The lighting was great, we sat down around 6pm and by 8 the lighting was more romantic. We shared a bottle of wine and I had the filet which was perfectly cooked. Overall great experience!

    This is a wonderful venue for a lovely dinner in Lexington. We were visiting our daughter at W&L and this was a great location for an early Sunday dinner. Everyone is friendly and the ambience is perfect. We will go back for lunch too.

    Great place to eat. Had a 3 course meal set for the night. Reservations went fast. The meal was great. Beverage choices were minimal but the waiter was very on top of our drinks and empty plates. Food came out at room temperature and had great flavor. Only problem was my husband and I were placed at a tiny table against a brick wall in the back room when the whole front room where the piano was had openings.

    We had the opportunity to dine there several times during our stay and it was delicious with excellent service every time. Kirk at the bar so friendly, the host (wish we had his name) and the entire team were friendly & excellent.

    We were sorely disappointed with pretty much everything. We both had the ribeye and found the meat to be tough and an unappetizing huge salad of meat. The salad was tired and the wine, which was $14/glass, can be found at Kroger where it would cost less to buy a bottle of the same wine. The service was ok but not at all what I would expect at a restaurant at this price range. Between the food and the experience, nothing was worth the eventual price of $250 for 2 adults. (2x pre set menu and 2 drinks each.)

    Overall good experience. We were sitting close to the piano, so difficult to carry on a conversation. Portion sizes were ample and food tasty. Good place.

    I chose this restaurant because I read about them having a piano bar and knew we'd enjoy that, but apparently I misread the days and times they offer it. The recorded music was nice, but we were hoping for live piano. The ribeyes were excellent and we enjoyed it even though it was well above our budget.

    We were looking forward to a nice dinner. We arrived and it was hot. We were greeted by a very nice man and initial waiter. They moved us to a cooler area. My food was not good. I ordered the lobster pasta with cognac cream sauce. The cream sauce was missing. The pasta was dry and the lobster was minimal. They charged a $1 for some cheese. Disappointing. The waitress wasn't helpful. The other three meals were adequate.

    Thanks you for your comments. Haywoods apologizes for the inconvenience with the temperature. Our contractor has ordered parts which we are waiting for. We are trying to accommodate as many guests as possible. Always alert the supervisor and or manager on duty if you have issue with the food or service so they can take care of it immediately. We want our guests to be happy with their evening and will address it as quickly as possible. Hope you can try us another time.

    Came here for dinner with my father. Haywood’s called to inform us that their air conditioning had broken earlier and they would be using fans. It was 95° outside and couldn’t have been more than 70° inside. Communication was excellent. The service provided by our waitress, Megan, was the most remarkable part of our experience, she was prompt and professional. The food was unremarkable and uninspired. Nothing was bad, but nothing was special either. The salad was plain, lettuce with some dressing, and goats cheese sprinkled around. The entree was beautifully plated and intricately composed. The chicken was neither dry or moist, neither flavourful nor bland. The quinoa was completely out place and didn’t compliment the dish at all, other than perhaps aesthetically. The sweet potato could have been nice, if there was enough of it to mix into the mountain of quinoa. The onion complimented the chicken very well. Dessert was disappointing. A dense and heavy wedge of so-called “cake” was served upon a naked plated. Haywood’s is a must visit in Lexington, if you’ve been the environment and service speaks for itself. If you haven’t you must experience it. The service is exceptional and the food is very hard to criticise.

    We were in Lexington for a tour at W&L. So glad we made a reservation at Haywood's. Staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was fun yet sophisticated. Our food was fantastic. Best Caesar salad I've ever had. When my teenage son says a salad is good, it's good! Our steaks were cooked perfectly. We will definitely be back when in the area.

    Another stunning meal from chef Xavier. I had the buratta and charred peach salad with arugula and cherry tomatoes (all veggies from our local Wednesday farmers market). It was the best salad I’ve ever had. Amazing! Topped it off with a taste of a strawberry soup with a dollop of whipped cream. Wednesdays are also half price for a selection of wines by the bottle. Great date or girls night!

    The whole experience was delightful. Food hit all the high notes - beautiful presentation, timely, and delicious. Service was attentive without being intrusive. Atmosphere was warm and inviting. Definitely would return and recommend to others.

    We were there in November 2022. Food was excellent. This past time my steak was overcooked a bit and my first thought when I bit into the tenderloin was that it had been frozen, thawed and cooked. It wasn't as good as the first time. Very disappointed.

    Terry, Thanks for the critique. I am not sure what happened with your steak. Please know we do not freeze our beef nor have we changed our regional source. Sometimes we can get a cut that might not be what it normally should be. We rely on our customers like you to let us know so we can correct it.     From the second we walked in we felt like we were enjoying dinner with friends. The staff was attentive without being too intrusive and the music was great. Finally the food was delicious!!!! Totally worth the higher price

    We arrived a bit early for our 7:15 dinner reservation. Our waitress welcomed us after few minutes. We immediately ordered wine and our entrees and decided on cheese plate special. The wine and cheese plate came in a timely manner. However… one hour later ( after nobody came for wine or water refills … or ANYTHING) I caught our waitress’ attention and asked about our entrees. She has forgotten to put in our order. The manager appeared and apologized but we were DONE by then. Everyone around us has gotten their food and finished it. The service was absolutely HORRIBLE. The food might have been good but we will never know as we got up and left. I would not recommend this place for dinner. They did have an excellent piano piano player … So maybe stop by for drinks and good entertainment. But you’ll need hours to sit before you get your dinner.

    Oh wow. This restaurant was so good we wanted to return our second night in Lexington. Loved our waitress Crystal and talked with the owner, who was very charming. Excellent choice. Thank you to the staff! ❤️
