Hawksmoor Air Street
This is my favourite branch of Hawksmoor for the stunning Art Deco detailing. The steaks on my last visit were as sensational as always, as were our other courses. I had bought two friends as guests for a treat and they both commented that these were the best steaks they had had at a restaurant.
Had a fab time at the Air street branch. Been several times before and it never disappoints.
Steaks and Shakey Petes are always en pointe. Service always friendly.
Another fantastic meal at Hawksmoor to treat my parents. We were very well looked after with attentive service and fabulous food.
A great restaurant. Always a pleasure to eat there
Great food great surroundings great service been before will go again and Monday bring your own wine for a corkage charge is fantastic
Excellent food and service but a big pricy. A great place for a special occasion
This restaurant was recommended and it lived up to its recommendation. The steak was superb, staff very attentive, friendly and helpful. A very relaxed ambience.
We chose Hawksmoor to celebrate my Partners birthday - everything about the whole evening was excellent. The Chateaubriand was out of this world. Fabulous from start to end.
Great food with great service b
Thanks to the waiter that served us (very perceptive) and came up with helpful suggestions to make sure our orders met our needs. I’m definitely coming back
Early pre-theatre ‘express menu’. Service in the bar while we waited for our table wasn’t great - the waitress insisted on finding my name on the bookings list before taking our drinks order (which took ages - apparently my fault for having a double barrelled name!) Great non-alcoholic ginger beer though.
Service when seated was excellent. Great Caesar salad and fantastic chips. My rump steak was served perfectly medium rare, as requested, but my husband’s was way over - medium bordering on well done. Our waiter agreed and quickly changed it whilst we shared my steak, which we appreciated. Of course these things happen but in a steak focused restaurant it isn’t ideal and it left us with no time to order deserts.
Decent value given the quality of the produce, (most of) the cooking and service in the restaurant. It’s worth pointing out that the pre/post theatre express menus aren’t a bargain (not that they claim to be). You’ll
get the same dishes for almost the same price if you order from the a la carte menu (bearing in mind that the steak on the express menu isn’t exactly large.
So - not quite up to the standards of the Spitalfields branch but a very enjoyable dinner non the less. Thank you!
Having now been to all the Hawkesmoor Restaurants in London, I can now say that Air Street is my second favourite. Everything you expect from Hawksmoor with awesome food and service plus a really great ambience.
Loved this place the first time I came last year, was a little disappointed as I felt the food wasn’t as nice as last time I came
As always the food, ambience and team were outstanding.
Great food in a great setting. All staff friendly and helpful. Great atmosphere lots of people in there but doesn’t feel crowded or too busy. Food served quickly. Highly recommended.
Birthday plan didn’t quite go to plan despite me writing it in the booking and informing 3 members of staff including the waiter.
However excellent food
Decor is alittle dated
Service was not great...who was our primary waitress? Not once did someone come to the table to see how our meal was....my companion sat with an empty wine glass the entire meal and not once was she offered a refill
As part of the hospitality industry myself, quality service and food sit at the forefront of my dining experience! My waitress was knowledgeable with an incontestable charm, anticipating our needs and being there even when service was not busy. Will definitely recommend it over and over again as it’s always been consistent which is what we are expecting!
Thank you to everyone, including the hard working chefs, who work excruciating hours for the high of service! Andrei
bigger and airly space than goodman, also quiet than goodman Too.
now I prefer Hawksmoor than goodman haha
Great. As always.
Delicious food and wine!
Solid as always, just food you want to eat, no fussing just a great time.
They maybe known for steak, but their pastry chef deserves immense credit also, hazel but praline dish was spectacular.
Freezing! Dover sole over cooked. Never again. Don’t think they counted on cold weather. Couldn’t wait to leave.
Frood presentation mmmm
Food was great and well cooked to write about of liking.
Service, the first at entrance was very smart , however when we had our waiters and other waiters were quite casual .
Although greeted cheerily upon arrival we seemed to be a burden to some of the staff when we got upstairs. We’d asked to be booked into the bar so we could have both the bar & a-la carte menu but when I tried ordering the burger I was told it wasn’t possible but when I asked for this to be double checked I was begrudgingly told it was ok but I’d have to pay for the chips as that was how it was! The steak my wife had was ok but slightly over but although I was told the burger I ordered would be well done it was actually burnt & quite acrid to taste. There were other things slightly wrong which all seemed to be on my order so I was happy to be rushed out of there as I had enough by then.
Steak was over cooked and service was ok but not great.
The restaurant was very nice. The food was excellent and the staff was a lot of fun. It was a great experience.
Excellent choice of food so not to think it is just about meat. Food was excellent and service was very attentive. Monday night corkage is perfect to bring your wine and have it decanted. Makes it extra special
First visit here and we were very impressed. The food is tasty, well presented and professionally served
One of the waiters is rude. The steak is cold when served.
Ran out of roast potatoes on a Sunday ! Also wine was corked . Very dissapointed
Hawksmoor's Sunday lunch is always great for beef lovers (though it is the only sunday lunch option they have). Choose whether you want your meat medium or well done and make sure you request an extra jug of gravy. I do think they overcook the yorkshires a tad but it is still delicious. Phenomenal service, and a beautifully styled restaurant and bar; come hungry!
Hawksmoor never fails to disappoint - expensive but worth it!
Best filet in London! This is my place to go when I want to eat good meat. The filet is excellent. Highly recommended
Brilliant food and the waiter was very friendly/helpful
First class food and delightful table staff. We had to wait a while for the food but it was worth it. Precisely cooked and well presented
We enjoyed the whole evening. Great food great atmosphere and great service.
Everything was excellent from the cocktails to the puddings. It is very pricey but you could go to a lesser value steakhouse and pay less but no doubt they wouldn’t be as tasty as Hawksmoor was. You do get what you pay for
Great food, waiter was fab, even tried to sort a specific dessert request! But at tables either side couples were making out! Constant kissing, hands down top. Really surprised by this behaviour in any restaurant!
