Our server that night was totally awesome.
Great service, very helpful and friendly.
Also our helper was extremely kind
Two people in my party were celebrating birthdays and I listed it on resv, staff didn’t acknowledge us. Sevice very slow, had to ask for water, coffee etc. had to ask staff to remove dirty dishes repeatedly. Waited 15 mins for check, the buffet is enjoyable with a great selection which is the reason we like it therw. But don’t expect any service even if the restaurant isn’t busy.
Everything from the scallop appetizer to the Caesar salad to the entrees (mac nut mahi and ahi) were amazing. Definitely a restaurant we will want to go back to again.
Delightful experience and wonderful servers!
We were celebrating our 30th anniversary- everyone wished us Happy Anniversary and the kitchen very kindly sent is a special dessert. All in all a very memorable and much enjoyed experience.
Outdoor setting at Marriott Hotel facing pool beach sunset. Open bar with sports TVs. Specials at Happy Hour and Sunday and Thursday evening are great values in an otherwise pricey resort. Watch service fee add on. It is 15% or 18% for groups of six or more and based on the total bill before discounts. Our server twice added on service at 18%.
Told them it was our honeymoon but no mention of it
Food was very good...we both had the short ribs served with mashed potatoes. Service a little slow and unattentive. The included gratuity was incorrect as per 50 at 5 stated.
We loved the fact that it was an open restaurant with a really nice view of the sunset and tiki torch lighting at dusk! Never experienced breakfast (way too expensive) but had lunch a couple of times and dinner five nights during the week that we stayed here. We usually ordered mahi mahi or the fresh catch and everything was delicious. Friendly and attentive servers from the busboys to the waiters. Entertainment is usually live soft Hawaiian and some lounge music. Perfect background for conversation and setting the mood! Open bar is nice with big screen TV's for sports!
Michael, our server, did a great job.
Slow service. Pleasant staff, but seemed disorganized
It took considerable amount of time to get our drink orders. Then another long time to get our food order. Then a long time to get our food. We were considering dessert and after some deliberation we were ready, but she took a long time to come back and get our order. That also took time to come. The check took another amount of time. They were busy but not with people waiting. The food was ok and the bus boys were attentive. Beautiful place to eat just not fast.
Have been to many restaurants in the area. This is the best. Thurs and Sunday half off is a great value. Beautiful view
The service for our table was very poor. It felt like we were ignored most of the night.
Had a fantastic dinner. Had the Macadamia nut crustes Mahi. To die for. My salad was a generous size and very fresh. Great drinks and wine. Will return in 6 months when we return to Waikoloa
Dinner. Seated promptly but a little wait for server. Tried to order a bold Cab, limited selection. Had to get s Merlot. My mac-encrusted Mahi very good though a little strange with mash potatoes. My wife had their ribeye. The worst steak ever. For a $40 streak in Cincinnati, it would be a thick 1-2 inch aged slab of meat with flavor. Their was a 1/2 inch piece of beef with fat and grizzle. No flavor. It came with mushrooms or should I say one mushroom if you assembled the few pieces. Very disappointed for a Marriott resort. Better to off grounds for good meal. Over-rated and over-priced.
Nice place but the food can improve
This was an outstanding dinner. Michael our server was perfect. He gave us time we needed to enjoy our wine and described the specials perfectly. I had the ribs which were cooked to perfection. My husband had the short ribs. The ambiance is lovely
Just beautiful the scenery the food and the view was so worth it! We stayed here a couple years and went for special lobster dinners on Tuesday! Everything was great!!!
Have eaten here now three times and the food is consistently good along with the service. A little pricey but they do have specials that make up for it.
Definitely not worth the $55 pp for prime rib/snow crab legs. But was on a family vacation and didn’t know any other seafood dinner buffet close to Hilton Waikaloa Hotel.
Had a great server and it was special night so great value. Prime Rib was very good after a excellent ahi tuna app.
The food, service and overall experience was outstanding!! I’m a DF&B at a California Marriott property and was completely impressed with everything. The bartender was fantastic and the musician who was playing- so talented...made our night. Mahalo!!
Great value and quality. Fish was fresh and local flavors were interesting.
Some of the worse food and service I have ever had in a very long time. We ate there three nights
and the food was ether over cooked or under cooked. The service was very poor, and the staff just stood around and did nothing but talk to them self.
This was one of our most delicious dinners in the lsland while we were visiting Hawaii. The food was so fresh and delicious! Actually better dinner than most of the fancy restaurants! We could have eaten here every night !
Good selection of food. Outdoor dining so had to chase flies away. But after the sun went down if was better.
This restaurant is located in the Marriott Waikola resort so it is expensive for what you get. The kids meals are not that great. We had to eat here since all the restaurants outside the hotel were closed due to hurricane Lane. The service was not that good. It took a long time to get our food and we had to ask for refills on soda both times we ate dinner here. A soda or ice tea was $5 plus tax. We recognize the prices are high since it is in a hotel but I would recommend leaving the hotel if you have the option.
I made a reservation prior to arriving on island for our wedding anniversary. I noted it on the reservation and had our close friends accompany us for dinner. When we got there, we checked in at the front checkin for the restaurant, then were escorted to an area right in front of the food instead of a nice romantic area. Plus they put a round table with a square table for us. I thought that was very poor service for 1, to seat us at the entrance of the buffet, then 2 for putting 2 tables that weren't the same shape together. The round table wasn't stable and kept rocking everytime we tried to eat. We tried to place cloth napkins under it with no change.
No one from the restaurant came up to us and congratulated us on our Anniversary. We had to mention to our waitress that it was our anniversary and she just nonchalantly said Happy Anniversary and walked away.
Everyone in our party was very surprised with their lack of service or should I say compassion for the milestone of the special occasion.
Other than that, our waitress was attentive to our drinks and dishes. The food was great, the crab legs was great. The temperature was terrible since it's an open air dining area. We were all perspiring and couldn't wait to get back into a cool area.
If you plan to dine there for a special occasion, don't expect the staff to make it a memorable one. You'll be very dissapointed.
We did tip well eventhough the poor experience for such a special occasion.
Good buffet prime rib and crab legs on Saturdays
Have been going to the Sunday night 50% off for entrees. Had the fish special the last two Sundays and both were good. Prep was very nice and the fish fresh and tasty. Service is erratic so spring for a bottle of wine to pour yourself. The place can get pretty frenetic but if you arrive at 6:30 you can get a table overlooking the pool and have all the keiki behind you.
We enjoyed the fish specials - they grilled the fresh caught fish that day.
Super nice staff makes sitting st the bar fun. Paniolo night was an awesome value.
Great food. We had buffet. Great selection. Kept full and clean.
Delicious food and beautiful ambiance and view. Both of our meals were amazing. Would definitely come back!
Too loud and price for old desserts from the 4th of July
Easily accommodated. Had a special four-course dinner that evening which suited our family perfectly.
