Hau Tree Lanai

Greeted at hostess stand. Table wasn’t ready upon arrival. Hostess never acknowledged my table request I made at time of booking the reservation. I requested a table on the edge of the restaurant, closest to the water and under the tree. I was given a table way back in the right hand corner, farthest from the water so instead of views of the water I got to watch everyone eat and tend to their children. Servers hardly communicated, not a hello at the least. Instead we got “do you know what you want, we are very busy” not impressed at all. Food was typical breakfast foods, nothing less, nothing more. I would suggest dining elsewhere.

You wait in line like a Disney land ride. They sumon you to the podium like a Red Lobster or Dennys. I guess it was too early for smiles or warm greetings because the neither the Host, Head Water,or Waiter had any to spare. I had the Super Benedict. The steak half was Surprisingly tasty. Mushroom sauce was delicious. Eggs perfectly cooked. English muffin was very tender and crisp on the edges but got soggy and pasty fast. The lobster half, the lobster wasn’t fresh. Sauce was better than average but not outstanding. Potatoes were not crispy and had that buffet cafeteria smell and over half onion and bell peppers, yuck. The guava and orange juice were both awful. Guava thick, grainy and tasteless, orange thin and bitter. Pancakes were huge but tasteless. The passion fruit syrup was nice. Coffee was fabulous. Service was drive by. I am not sure my service was not on some upper. He never stopped at my table. He talked and walked without actually stopping at my table. If it wasn’t annoying it would have been a metal level skill. Tossed a menu and kept walking as he shouted “let me know what you want”, pass by here is your food put down as he walked by, seriously did not stip for more than a heartbeat and mostly talked over his shoulder at me. Sort of like at a diner feeling. I would not have put it past him to hell at me from across the room “hon, you done yet?” Took his tip before I even left. Efficient, sure. Warm and leisurely,nope. For a $60 per person breakfast I was left wanting more.

I will say the 6 foot plus valet was the best feature of that place. Warm, friendly, and kind with an eye on safety and customer service. He was really awesome.

Oh and the patio view. Also good. Not as good as the Valet tho. Seriously. I would clone him and make a CS army.

雨模様の朝、テラス席での食事中にやはり雨が本降りとなり、席移動の案内もない中、最後は、若干テーブルを移動しての食事となり、残念な思いが残ります。料理は、最高でした‼️

Five of us went here for dinner, two of our meals had to be sent back. No effort was made to compensate lack of care with the food. I would only recommend this restaurant to a friend for the views and the location.

朝食で訪問しました。宿泊先のモアナサーフライダーから徒歩で25分の程なので、朝のウォーキングを兼ねて伺いました。
日本語のメニューがあり エッグベネディクトのベーコンを注文！ボリューム満点です‼︎係の方も笑顔で接客 してくれ、ビーチを見ながらのんびり出来ます！とてもいい雰囲気の所です。また、訪問したいです。

ハワイ旅行の滞在中、2回も行きました！
予約していくととてもスムーズです。
※予約がないと40分待ちみたいです。。

ピンクのクロステーブルと大きな木が特徴のハウツリーラナイに行ってきました。
ワイキキビーチを右手に見ながら歩いて行くと15分くらいでありました。場所も分かりやすいと思います！
中はとっても可愛くてウキウキ！サービスも丁寧でご飯も美味しく満足。目の前のサンセットを見ながら贅沢な時間でした。
次は朝エッグベネディクトを食べに行きたいな〜！

昔と違って雰囲気だけの店になっていて非常に残念。お金と時間の無駄でした。

This was my 2nd time in 10yrs. My last experience was pretty good but now I am never going back. I asked for a seat by the tree or the beach in the reservation but they knew nothing about it. And even though I asked them to be moved once a seat was open, they told me to wait a moment and never came to me after that. The waiter kept saying they were "so busy" and he never came. The water server didn't bother to give water to our daughter and also, when my husband asked for a refill, he didn't even glance at my nearly empty cup and sped off. The hollandaise sauce on the classic eggs benedict was so salty... my first time in my life I could not eat something at a restaurant because it was salty. The french toast was not french toast but just pieces of dry toast with crusty egg and nuts on the surface. And of course the server had to forget to bring the syrups. The service and food was so bad that I forgot to take pictures of the nice tree and beach. This place has become so popular and since it's probably a one time only for most, they have not even tried to keep the quality that they had. I rarely write reviews but I could not keep this inside me. Very disappointing.

Made our 45th wedding anniversary something special.

家族6人での食事でした。
6時からの予約にしたので、テラス席からの夕焼けがとても綺麗で花火まで見れました。
とてもいい思い出になりました。
カジュアルな感じで気軽に利用できて、リピートします。

何より素晴らしい眺めの中での朝食は最高です。ワイキキからは少し距離がありますがビ－チサイドの道のりを徒歩25分くらいで歩けます。エッグベネディクトはマストで！

Seafood cooked in Chinese style is one of the best in town but the servers were lack of service minds.

Probably the friendliest service I have ever had. We had to pieces of bread and our waiter switched our loaf of bread or for a warmer loaf. The view of sunset was wonderful. The live music was a nice touch, and the food was delicious. It's maybe a touch overpriced, but a wonderful place for a special occasion. We had the fresh catch snapper and steak. Delicious.

Was with a fairly big group and we shared--chinese style. An excellent way to eat here. We mostly had seafood. Delicious. And of course the setting is always beautiful. Great for entertaining guests from out of town.

We were so impressed with Hau Tree Lanai. The staff was friendly, attentive and professional. We shared a delicious spinach salad for a starter. I had Hamachi prepared with a delicate lemon caper sauce and my husband had Olu prepared Asian style. All of the vegetables were delicious. It was a lovely meal that we’ll remember.

人気ということで、かなり前から予約して、楽しみに行きました！
ダイヤモンドヘッドを登った後だったので、クタクタで、お腹も減っていたので、すごく楽しみでした！
味は美味しかったのですが、景色はもっと海沿いが良かったかな。残念です。
朝からお高いご飯でしたが、味は美味しかったです。

ワイキキビーチの賑やかさから離れ、静かな海の前で木陰もあり、とても雰囲気が良く、気持ちの良い朝食となりました。お料理はとても美味しいのですが、やはりアメリカンで味が濃いです。また行きたい！

初めてのハワイで、到着してすぐのランチに使わせていただきました。
朝食時は混雑するようなのと、昼のが海が綺麗に光って見えるとのことだったので！
日本から予約していてずっと楽しみにしていました！
ワイキキから歩いてハワイの海を満喫しつつ、お店に着いたら席もいいところで、しかも少しテーブルをずらしてくれて、皆さん親切で、また次回も来たいなと思いました！

Beautiful beach side dining, good service, fresh local ingredients. The perfect place to bring your friends who are visiting the islands!

Great beachfront dining at one of the best beaches in the world. Had the eggs Benedict and will definitely be back to enjoy 😊 again.

二度目のエッグベネディクトはやっぱり美味しかったです。次にハワイに行くときも絶対行きます！エッグベネディクト以外にもガーリックシュリンプのパスタもガーリックがしっかり効いていて、サンドイッチもボリュームたっぷりでした。昼に予約しましたが空いている席もあり朝ほどは混まないのかなと思いました。

My family enjoyed the relaxed mood of place with very good.

They served special food & service, view very enough to celebrate our final dinner @Honolulu. I'd like to recommend fur friends.

友人とディナーに伺いました。浜辺と沈んで行く夕陽を見ながらゆっくり食事が出来て良かったです。以前に伺った時に料理が多いのがわかっていたので、4人で3品をシェアしても嫌な顔をされずに嬉しかったです。夕暮れの写真は難しく、私たちでは上手く撮れないのに、さすがにお店の人は慣れてらっしゃいました。綺麗な写真を撮って頂き嬉しかったです。予約もオープンテーブルでしておくとスムーズでした。また、ハワイに来たら必ず行きます╰(*´︶`*)╯♡

Wonderful nice evening enjoying a sunset dinner. Our waiter, Sherwin, was excellent and always made sure everything was to our satisfaction. Perfect evening.

Classic Venue with Great Views but the Overall Restaurant Looked Tired. Simple Touch of Paint in Noticeable Spots would Make a Big Difference.

Tolle und einzigartige Lage! Das Hau tree bietet sich sowohl für Frühstück oder lunch, alsauch für ein romantisches Abendessen zum Sunset an. Perfekt! Wir kommen immer gerne wieder hierher.

It's an old school favorite of mine. The family always likes to have breakfast at least once at Hau Tree when in Hawaii. The Eggs Benedict(s) is my favorite Bennie on the island or mainland. I also love the Island Fried Rice and Egg. Nestled under an old Hau Tree, looking out at San Souci Beach, while white pigeons bus the tables around your feet...its a nice setting and great breakfast.

I'm afraid it is too oily for Japanese...

ランチに伺いました。カイマナスムージーとカイマナエッグベネディクト、あまり空腹ではなかったにもかかわらず、とても美味しくて完食でした。
思ったよりこじんまりとしたお店で、暑い日でクーラーが恋しかったのが少し残念でしたが、噂通りのお味で、満足です。

Service was great, however, host was terrible. He is the first person one encounters, yet he was not friendly. He barely greeted us...looked up from the computer when we approached and I advised my reservation name and time. He picked up menus and walked toward the tables without saying a word. I guess we were to follow... We had reservations for ocean-front seating, but all were taken. No mention of anything from the host. Had he told us to wait 5 minutes for a table to open up, we would have waited. We should have asked but after giving us the menus, he disappeared. He set the tone for our anniversary meal. Our server was very good, as well as the food. If this place had a friendly person to welcome its guests, I would give it high stars!

One of my favorite restaurants in the world. Always great food, good & friendly service and so fabulous to sit outside looking at and hearing the waves. We've been been coming here for many, many years - anytime we're in Honolulu, this is always our first choice for breakfast, lunch and/or dinner.
Sadly, there are not many places like the Hau Tree that have charm, view, great food &
great service - The Hau Tree is one of a kind - and I love it.

I dine here on every trip to Honolulu. This is one of the best dining experience in Hawaii and not to be missed. The food is exceptional and the wait staff is superb. I love having Matthew as my waiter and his suggestions never fail.
If you book a 5:30pm ressie you will see the most beautiful sunsets. I’ve also had brekkie and lunch here; food and staff won’t disappoint.

サンセットの時間に予約しておくと、綺麗に見えて素敵だと思います。ワイキキから少し歩いた所にあるので、歩くのが億劫な場合はタクシーで行くことをおすすめします。電話は英語のみの対応でした。日本語メニューがあります。ディナーにお肉料理を注文しましたが、柔らかくて美味しかったです。
スタッフの方々も優しく対応してくださいました。
