The food was great. The servers were on top of everything. No waiting for drinks. Food came out in a reasonable time for how crowded they were. Over all will definitely return
Waiter was very nice. The prices are very fair. Might need to step up the seasonings and flavors. The food was good but could be better. They have a great opportunity with the closed restaurants in our neighborhood. They are doing so many things right. Just need to elevate the food a bit. Even so I will always support this restaurant.
Amazing daily specials both in value & taste! Friday was prime rib night. Reminded me of my wedding & honeymoon since we had prime rib a lot for both. Best tasting prime rib in town! The seasoning is spot on and I love their mashed baby reds—creamy & full of flavor. Apple Brown Betty is the perfect finishing bite.
Service was super fast & so so friendly! We’ll be back to try Lobster Wednesdays!
Greatocals ace
Everything was overall very good, only downside was we had a 730 reservation but did not get seated until 830. We sat at the bar (no big deal) and asked to order some food/app and they said they were not allowed to. Our server had to at our table? Odd..
I would highly recommend Harley Gray. We had a great time!!! Thank you
- Great corner location with metered street parking, outdoor patio and beautiful interior with large bar seating, TVs for sports watching, etc.
- Good Bloody Marys, named Bloody Sunday. A few garnishes but not overwhelming. You know, when everything but the kitchen sink is added to the glass and there's very little of the actual drink.
-Lobster Eggs Benedict - pretty good, and I look forward to trying something new the next time I go.
-Plain pancakes - fluffy and light, good sized x 3.
-Mahi Mahi tacos - corn tortillas, flavorful and full, x 3 and very good.
-Steak and eggs - good sized steak, eggs cooked to perfection
- Hot mess - this omelette with tons of added ingredients was large and falling off the plate a little bit due to size. Very good.
- Berry French Toast - two slices of thick Challah bread. Flavorful and good.
- Recommendations: Figure out a way to make sure the sunshades on the windows actually block out the sun. Half of our party had to move to a different seat or squint through a lot of brunch (we were there from 10-12).
Will definitely be back, the staff was very friendly and attentive.
food seems to have gone down hill. Everone's dish: mahi mahi tacos, prime rib, buda bowl, seared ahi. was just OK. Not bad, just not great. No one said it was delicious.
The wait staff was very nice but no very attentive as they appeared to be short staffed.
Really great dinner here our first time visiting. Had foccaia bread appetizer, buddha bowl and Harley Gray burger. Not too busy on a Saturday night which is a plus!
Harley Gray hit it out of the park. My wife and I made same-day reservations for our date night and we were completely satisfied with our experience there. The food was exceptional, the service was friendly and efficient, and the ambiance was cozy and warm.
We come here once a year or so for lobster night and decided to taste test the other food on the menu. The food was a big disappointment. My husband and I could not forced ourselves to finish half of each dish. Service was ok. The waitress keeps touching us, I know she was being friendly but she did it too many times. Would not recommend.
I enjoy going to Harley Gray. The service and food is always top notch. They feature weekly specials and the pricing for restaurant week was too good to pass up. Sunday brunch and happy hour attendance is a must! You will not be disappointed!
Would not recommend unless you participate in one of the nightly specials of the food fr regular menu is poor quality and the value is poor
Great restaurant great food and good value
Impeccable service
We will revisit this place
Yes for drinks only. Food was ok. Rice was hard and dry. It was not a good experience.
Nick has been the best server I’ve ever had. I highly recommend him and this place if you’re out in San Diego.
Always great food, service and outstanding location -- close to everything we like.
Everything was great just had issues with passport card.
Server was outstanding! Food yummy. A bit hot but great experience overall!
The overall experience was extremely good on my visit. The food was extremely good and was at a reasonable price point. The only downside was the service we were provided. The service could have been better.
I had to ask for waiter, water and dessert menu.
Prime Rib night is exceptional!
Service was great especially considering we were a large party. Food cane out at same time, and was delicious. Great for Sunday brunches.
We went to Harley Gray Kitchen for prime rib night (Friday) - the price is good but the cuts all came out more well done than we had wanted. They could also use more horseradish in their sauce since it was really light on the horseradish ...
Since the demise of the Boat House on Harbor Island, we had been hoping to try Harley Gray, their sister location. The lobster was great, service what we were used to at the Boat House and a thoroughly pleasant location in Mission HIlls. We'll be back for the prime rib next.
The food and drinks were great. Our server got a few things wrong but corrected them right away. The air conditioning was very cold inside.
Our server was so kind and friendly. She recommended the short ribs and they were absolutely delicious. I’m looking forward to my next visit.
Prime rib special was great! Also ordered a couple of side orders. Both were excellent. Only glitch was desert( apple pie) — took a long time to prepare (?) and served.
Overall experience was outstanding!
Great place to catch up with friends. Great restaurant and delicious food! Love it!
We LOVED this restaurant! Went early Sunday evening and so it was not yet busy. Restaurant has a garage-type door that opens onto the sidewalk so people watching was fun, and there was a nice breeze to enjoy. Staff are super fun. Every menu item we tried was absolutely delicious. I was delighted to see pork schnitzel on the menu - perfectly breaded and fried with terrific brown onion gravy and potatoes.
Harley Gray has wonderful daily specials and fabulous happy hour cocktail prices - even on the weekend. Sangria was the best I've ever had. Be sure to see the photos that give you the origins of the restaurant name! We will all be back again and again. It's a Passport Dining restaurant too.
Your weekly specials are what keep us coming back, especially the live Maine lobster and the prime rib. I also love that you can order a double cocktail for three dollars more. The service is relaxed and friendly and the atmosphere is pleasant and informal.
The lobster for lobster night was fresh and flavorful. Absolutely terrific experience. Staff was extremely helpful and happy. Will go again!!!
Loved the whole Maine lobster, superb value. Yummy Bellini. The rice was boring. My friend wears a hearing aid and doesn’t hear well in restaurants. We were seated in the best place for his ability to hear. The noise level was high, as it is in most restaurants anymore. I will definitely go back again. The wait staff were excellent.
It was very hot inside, despite that we we’re sitting next to the open patio. Server was polite but hard to get refills on any drinks. Coffee grounds were in both our coffee cups but we didn’t bother asking for new ones in fear we’d never get the coffee back. About 3 people came to deliver our food (there were 4 of us) and they still forgot a side of eggs and we asked for salsa 3 times. Disappointed. May go back when the weather is cooler.
We were patrons of the Boat House, but when it closed, we tried the Thursday lobster dinner special at their sister restaurant. The lobster was delicious, but the ambience doesn’t compare to overlooking the bay. This restaurant is located in the residential area of Mission Hills, so there’s no view. Our server, Tara, was terrific and so was the food. Would love it if they added corn on the cob to make the meal a little more substantial. We’ll be back on Thursday’s while we’re here for the summer.
Great place for Sunday brunch. The open concept is great. It's a littl tight in there, but that's ok. I was a little out off by all the dogs, but I will definitely go back.
Nice place for dating ^_^
Both me and my girlfriend enjoy the dinner
Love the lobster promo
Went for Friday Prime Rib Special for $13.99 we expected a small thin piece of meat, but were pleasantly surprised to see a generous size of perfectly cooked prime rib. Can't wait to go back.
