Had unfortunate experience in which chef apparently misunderstood the instructions for temperature of my steak. Timing of the meal was disturbed so that my wife ate her entree alone and then I ate mine. Staff was considerate and comped my entree. Would return and recommend to others.
Great food, gracious service and a fun, classy ambiance. From the GM to the wait staff and valet, the team makes your dining experience special. Simply a classic white table cloth steakhouse; glad to return.
The Hanover Chophouse remains a favorite to celebrate special occasions, dinner with friends, or a romantic meal. The food taste and selection is great, and the service is wonderful. They have an extensive and whiskey list to satisfy the most discerning palates.
Awesome as always! Service excellent!!! Food perfect.
I've reviewed this restaurant before and it's always the same. Excellent! Our favorite place to go for a special occasion or dining with friends! The Filet Mignon is perfect every time and I have a hard time ordering anything else; so I usually don't! Hope to see you again soon!
The website touts on site free parking, but that is not 100% accurate. There is very limited on site Valet parking. As I very seldom carry cash, I did not have cash on me to tip the valet, which was awkward to say the least. Other than that, the dinner was great.
Excellent food and service
Great pricey but worth it
The Hanover Street Chop House is a dependable gem. The service is excellent and professional, the food is outstanding. Pennsylvania Dutch raised beef, freshest fish, great wine selection, elegant ambiance but casual dress welcome. Valet parking. Friendly, professional staff, great chef. Desserts are top shelf. We visit several times a year, wish we could visit every day!
Our dinners were fantastic! We had prime rib and filet mignon and all 4 entrees were perfectly prepared. Our waiter was very attentive, made excellent recommendations, and was very enjoyable to interact with. We will definitely return
It was a wonderful restaurant. The food was excellent! The service was awesome!!!
We had a nice time, and our server was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Most of all, we enjoyed our dinner!
The Hannover Street Chophouse changed their plating since the last time we went. It use to be that you ordered your veggies and starches on the side. For two people it was always too much. NOW the veggies and starch is plated with the meat which is nice because it's smaller portions. Substitutions are allowed for a minor price increase so you can still get the truffle tots!
Another nice thing about the Chophouse is that there are lots of other places to walk to for after dinner for drinks, chatting or there's even a cigar bar a block and a half away.
Celerbrating Graduate and a date night.
The Chophouse is one of our favorite restaurants for special occasions. It's not inexpensive, but the quality of the food is worth the price. Their filet mignon (my favorite is the one with truffle butter) is melt-in-your-mouth tender. The potato and vegetable served with this (and other staple menu items) are always very nice accompaniments. The staff is friendly and very accommodating.
Our server was very knowledgeable and nice, and the menu items were very good. So if you don’t need anything special, it’s very nice.
It’s a shame when a nice place can’t properly accommodate a simple, but special, request. Although the meal from the menu was fine, the request for a “low sodium” recommendation was met with a lousy bland meal (almost like someone was upset we asked).
The real shame is that we sent a note like this to them directly first. It was ignored. We would have been far better off picking up some good steaks and a good bottle of red. Our meal would have been absolutely delicious (and a lot less expensive).
It’s hard when you see the truth about a place.
We come several times a year to celebrate or have a nice date night. Food is always delicious. Very crowded at peak times but otherwise not too bad. Service is good. Beer wine and cocktails are great. Valet service is wonderful. Make sure to make reservations way ahead of time for dinner.
The chop house is a great find and I go there often. The staff are very professional, attentive and provide excellent customer service. I totally recommend it for any occasion. They also have function rooms.
Sunday’s they have a great deal for anyone who wants to go there but have t decided to. For 40 you get a 4 course meat and irs well worth the money. I find it to be better than Abe & Louie’s in Boston and the Capital Grille.
My wife and I were celebrating our 36 year anniversary. The atmosphere, food and service was outstanding. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone. Highly recommend it.
Excellent meal! Each course was worth the price. We will be back again!
As always, we had a fabulous meal. Our waitress didn't bat an eyelash when we ordered the Colossal Seafood Tower and a salad for our meal rather than an "organized meal." The tower and salad were absolutely fabulous. Our waitress was very attentive and in tune to our "date night" after 52 years of marriage. Never disappointed at the Chop House.
Overall great experience at the Hanover Chop House. The food is on the gourmet side and delicious, albeit very pricey. The service is outstanding, including valet parking. Great spot for a special occasion or night out with friends.
Brought my husband for his birthday on 4/25 and we had Richard Colcord as our server; what a wonderful gentlemen. Very knowledgeable about the menu and just a very nice man to talk to.
Great food and service. Absolutely going back!
Food was great. Drinks were great. service was great. Ambiance was great. Date loved the place and enjoyed herself.
The waiter, Basil was outstanding. Excellent food.
This place is always our happy place to eat especially for intimate celebrations like birthdays and anniversaries. It’s a two hour trip for us that never disappoints. Every staff member is friendly and accommodating. Each drink is as ordered. Every course has the flavor and elegant finesse we hope for. Heard about it on a radio ad and we’ve loved it for years now. We had no other plans in Manchester....just knew we wanted to celebrate a birthday at the Hanover Street Chop House and got in the car! It’s that good!!! We dress up sharp and make our own event, although many wear biz casual. Make reservations. Thanks to everyone who made our night fantastic!
Great meal with excellent service. From the valet for the car to the maître-de to the wait staff it was an excellent experience.
This restaurant has outstanding food, drinks, and service that justify the price. It is wonderful dining for a special occasion.
As far as an elegant, fine dinning experience, in Manchester, it doesn't get better than the Chophouse.
The food is beautifully presented and top notch. This visit, we were with another couple. Both couples started off with the beef Carpaccio, which was executed perfectly. Our next course was fresh oysters and shrimp coctail. The oysters were cleaned and shucked beautifully, no small shell fragments. The shrimp were jumbo sized. All of the seafood was VERY fresh. For the main course, we all split, 2 different large steaks (family style), and ordered several different sides. All of which, by the way, were incredible as well. The quality of the food, the preparation and the presentation, is on par with, fine dining establishments in New York City.
The restaurant inside ambiance is elegant, but very warm and cozy. The bar area is also a great place to eat. We've done it many times, and you can order from the entire menu. The bar does also have a tvs.
On Sundays they have a $40 three course menu which is fantastic. It features your choice of several soups or salad for an appetizer, a choice of about 6 main course and a choice from 3 desserts. Which is an excellent portion for the price.
Having done quite a bit of traveling in my life, the entire experience was exceptional. They feature world class food and service, without having to leave Manchester. Highly recommend.
Our son is a culinary student at Johnson and Wales University and for his 20th birthday picked the Hanover Street Chop House for his birthday dinner. We had a great experience from the oysters on a half shell toast to the "happy birthday" en scripted dessert. They had no problem with us sharing the appetizers and even our entrees. As the Chicken "Parm" was outstanding with the marinara sauce kicking in shortly after each bite. The lamb was perfect and the steaks out of this world. Our reservation and table was ready on time and our server was professional. The pace of the courses were perfect as we were not rushed nor were we waiting for our food at any time during our meal. We will go back for more, a great find.
From parking to service to the food, this place is outstanding!
As always, the Chophouse delivers. I've been branching out on recent visits - venturing away from the steak side of the menu and it never disappoints. The Onion Soup is not to be missed. It's uniquely rich and flavorful. The salads are amazing as well. Finally, seafood at the Chophouse is always a delight.
Amazing steaks that are perfectly cooked
Food was outstanding as was the service. Jordan was very friendly and accommodating. Love the ambiance with the dark wood and low lighting. My wife also loved the fact there was no TV noise. Nice change from most places these days. There is kind of an old world elegance to the place which you rarely see anymore.
We had a fabulous meal and the service was excellent!
Great food and service. Never disappointed at this classic steakhouse. Can't beat the hot & dirty martini. Waiter went out of his way to come up with terrific gluten free rolls for my wife. Sunday evening is a great value! Only negative comment, it was quite chilly in the building.
Have been here several times. Nice atmosphere, excellent service. Meal was good. Drinks, appetizers, dessert & coffee were excellent. Entrees were good, but not as good as previous entrees. Will go back again.
Excellent service and food. Sorry to hear they took the chopped salad off the menu. It was my favorite!
