Catherine was excellent. They are lucky to have her.
Food was excellent.
We arrived early for our reservation and let both hostesses know that when our table was ready we would be in the bar area. At the time of our reservation we still had not been seated. We went back to the hostess stand to check on our table and it was ready. I firmly believe that they forgot about us and had no intentions of coming into the bar when our table was ready/time of our reservation. Bathrooms were also located downstairs far away from our table, it was a little adventure finding it.
Overall the food was excellent. The steak was top notch and the side dishes were of mammoth proportion for 2 people. The roasted Brussels sprouts, given the sophistication of everything else on the menu, were lacking. They were, in fact, simply roasted Brussels sprouts. I felt the chef could have spruced them up a bit more to fit with the rest of the menu.
Overall I would highly recommend the Chophouse to any of my family and friends. Its on par with steak houses in Boston, conveniently located in Manchester, NH.
Food was very good. Very expensive. Patron $17. Not a value experience. We were cold at our table. If you can afford it, it’s great.
The crab cake and cheese had an ammonia smell. The clam chowder bowl was barely filled and it wasn’t hot. The French Onion soup was salty. We had gone to celebrate a wedding anniversary and there was no acknowledgement of the celebration.
Always a good meal and pleasant dining experience
Food was, as always fantastic ! However valet service is a joke ! Winter time and no parking and no valet service. You take the time to book a date and time and then have to drive around find a spot downtown and then walk back to location. Yup in the middle of winter !! So why have a valet service ??? Just to tell you “sorry” good luck finding a spot in the winter but thanks for booking here”
Will think twice about going again in winter. Disappointing detail that matters!
The Chop House has the best filet mignon I have ever tasted. It is my 'go to" every time time we dine there. My wife had the rib eye and was in seventh heaven. Check the menu for prices before you go, so you won't be surprised/shocked. Our meal, with one appetizer and a bottle of wine totaled over $250.00. Pricey for two retirees, indeed! Worth it? Every bite!
First time at HSC and it will not be my last. I was gifted a night out by my company in recognition of a job well done and after some research on local places my BF and I decided to give HSC a try and I am so glad we did. The dining room was not just one open room but rather had some lovely and cozy nooks where you could be away from the hustle and bustle and noise of the overall restaurant but not feel shoved in a corner. The bacon appetizer was a great way to start the meal and the creme brulee was a sublime way to end it. In between my filet was melt in your mouth good and the truffle butter had visible truffle shavings in it not just truffle powder or oils which set them apart from other high end steakhouses. My BF had the DelMonico after heading from the waiter Kris that it was his favorite and since there was not a speck left on his plate afterwards I can only assume he found it amazing.
The highlight of the dinner however was something unexpected - Truffled Tater Tots. I feel silly calling these potato perfections tots as they were more like whipped potato crusted and fried til golden brown and tossed in truffle seasonings - So good!
Our waiter Kris was phenomenal and very attentive at all the right times. He was almost never out of site but did not make a pest of himself by hovering.
The valet had our car outside waiting for us when we were done with dinner and the seat warmers were turned on so we didn't enter a cold vehicle - extremely nice touch.
We will be back!
I would go back again in s heart beat
Nice evening with the husband. The bread was a little disappointing but the main course was amazing!
Always consistently the best steak in NH. Great atmosphere, food and drink. They take reservations and we were seated on time. Valet parking. Left my glasses in the car and the valet delivered them to my table. Service was superb but it always is. I've never been disappointed. You get what you pay for.
Very disappointing we have gone every year for the past 10 for my birthday and the food was really subpar. Brussels sprouts were soggy. Mushrooms were tasteless and the Colorado lamb was fatty and not worth the price. They used to have New Zealand lamb which was great. This is not comparable. The crowd has changed with far more people wearing jeans and T-shirts. Overall this was a very poor experience.
My wife and l went for a late lunch, we had no problem getting a table. The restaurant was very comfortable and inviting. I had the soup of the day and my wife had a beet salad. We each had the Filet Mignon and we shared dessert. The food was excellent. Our waiter was friendly and helpful with questions. I highly recommend this restaurant.
My family saves this restaurant for special occasions. The atmosphere is wonderful and the service is always spot on. If you have reservations, there is no waiting. We can never complain about the fabulous steaks or the tasty raw bar. Sometimes we stop by just to have a cocktail and pleasant conversation. I would very much recommend this to people who want to have a special night out.
New Years eve 300 + doller meal with drinks for two
Seated next to family with 2 year old at 8 pm
Child was running around and screaming
Spoke to manager and was told they were special friends of the owner
Asked for different table or said we were leaving after appetizers
Was given a different nice table
Food and service were excellent
Felt bad for the young couple also seated next to them
Noisy and had more of a pub atmosphere then fine dining
Had been before with no complaints
Would avoid on busy holidays
New Year’s eve menu was amazing with something for everyone. As usual the ambience is wonderful and the service always unsurpassed.
Wonderful dining experience as always! My only disappointment was that despite the fact that I checked their website frequently on the days leading up to our visit to ensure that they would be offering their normal full menu on New Years Eve instead of a fixed price skinnied down menu and I never saw anything that would lead one to believe otherwise, I was disappointed to find a limited fixed price menu. It wasn't a huge issue since they had some excellent choices on their limited menu but it would have been nice to know that up front. Other restaurants made it clear on the menu on their web site that it was going to be a limited menu and told you what the cost would be.
Additionally both my wife and I ordered the strip steak as our entre..... I ordered my steak medium and my wife ordered hers medium well and they were both delivered identically prepared (medium rare) …. obviously this could be rectified easily but we didn't want to make an issue. On rereading this it sounds like a lot of complaining be it really was a delicious meal!
Richard was the best waiter ever!
The best steak anywhere! Service is totally professional. The perfect romantic evening for two people who enjoy good food, atmosphere and time alone together.
I brought a group to thank them for their business in 2018 and as always you came through with a complete dining experience. From the Hostess who showed us to our table to the Valets that brought us our vehicles you provided us with seamless night.
Had a wonderful time. The all around ambiance is great. The waiter we had, Robert, if I remember right, provided the best service my wife and I have had in a restaurant. He was very outgoing, experienced and incredibly talented. I would recommend the chophouse to anyone, for at least a special occasional.
We love the Chop House so for our 50th Anniversary lunch we made a quick reservation. This is the quintessential steak house, beautiful bar and dining room, white tablecloths and Excellent steaks. However on this visit my wife ordered what she thought a fine steak house could do without a thought, cook a nice burger. It was not to be however, it was ruined. I on the other hand order the filet and it was the best Ive had in years. Moral to my wife and others...have steak at a steak house. The waitress and hostess were wonderful and very gracious. So while being honest about this visit we will certainly return, the steaks are excellent.
We dined at the HSCH for a business lunch and found the atmosphere welcoming and the food exceptional!
While initially disappointed in our table location, the staff was quick to relocate us. Much appreciated! Food was excellent
One of my favorites!
Our waitress and waiter were awesome. First time my steak was not done right and my husband got sick from the scallops later that night unfortunately. Always have had a great experience and we will be back but the food wasn’t great this time.
The Hanover Street Chophouse has always been one of my top favorite local restaurants because the service, food and ambiance is always great, though a little pricey. I would suggest making reservations for the dinner menu and not the lunch, as the lunch staff are more casual and less attentive to the customers needs plus the food quality is not as good as the dinner menu. I am not sure why there is a difference but there is.
My last lunch there, the waitress forgot to bring us bread, did not come to the table for drink refills and the food quality was not that good this time. Steak was overcooked, the "Caesar Salad" was made with Kale and not Romaine (this would have been good to know before the order) and the calamari was rubbery. Overall, I love this restaurant but this was by far not the best visit for lunch.
Hands down best restaurant in Manchester. If your looking to bring the lady out to eat and impress her. This is the place to be. Great chef. Great ownership.
david was a great waiter. food was very good. david even ran out to our car after we forgot the leftovers!
The bathroom was foul, unattended, had to actually speak to the hostess about it. Service was OK, we were ignored after paying the bill, no additional water or pouring of wine and our leftovers were not returned to the table ,had to flag her down after 20 minutes went by
The food was great as usual
Excellent food and service a real gem. The service was excellent and it was the best Bone In Filet Mignon I have had and I have eaten quite a few.
Our meal was very enjoyable. Traffic was backed up at the entrance. So getting in was a bit of a hassle. Seating was intimate. So you get to hear what's going on in the lives of the people seated next to you. They were serving Australian Wagyu. I asked if it was pure Wagyu or crossbred. I was told that it was pure Wagyu. So each of us ordered it. It was crossbred. Somewhat disappointing even though the rest of my party enjoyed it. I'll certainly come back. But I won't be ordering a $75 Wagyu steak that isn't any better than an Angus Ribeye.
Very rare for me to ever go five star but, HSC has it all covered. !
We made reservations, arrived early and were seated late by approximately half an hour. Once we finally ate, we were very pleased with the food and service.
Fantastic Christmas Luncheon for a work event. This was our 4th year having our small luncheon at The Chophouse and its never a disappointment.
It was wonderful!!
Our waiter, Richard, was knowledgeable, informative, quick, friendly, funny and adorable. And the food, as usual, was outstanding! We've never had a bad experience at Hanover Street Chophouse!
We've been many times and you always keep us coming back. as I've said many times before, Boston quality, with better service, shorter drive, and a tad less expensive. You have always gone out of your way to make us feel special. Frankly, we can go pretty much anywhere, however, there is something gratifying about spending your hard earned money with folks that appreciate, and work for it!
Good stop before event at the SNHU arena. Great service and nice typical steak house atmosphere, a little noisy, however. Steaks were great, especially with truffle butter!
