Farm-to-table is not a new concept to us! Our restaurant has been promoting and featuring locally sourced produce, seafood, meats and products since 1988. Our dishes are a unique blend of fresh Hawaiian food, local Asian influences and modern preparations.

    We were here several years ago so made reservations months ago for this restaurant. Everything was still wonderful. At this terrible time for Lahaina and Maui, we hope people will quickly bring their business and love back to this beautiful island.

    Been there many times. This time for lunch. Beautiful spot. I love the dining room (art on the walls) and bar. Sat at the window which was great. Great cocktails. Food was average at best. My mistake for ordering the bbq pork sandwich. Based on our previous experiences, I expected it to be elevated, but it wasn’t. In fact it was a pretty poor sandwich. Pork was mush just soaked in a bbq sauce I can get off a grocery store shelf and the fries were the batter coated type that gave away its origins. It was definitely not cut and prepared in house… it came frozen, in a bag, for sure. I expect more from a Bev Gannon menu item. My wife’s Mac nut mahi was better but seemed like a tired preparation - fresh mahi on a bed of very basic/bland white rice covered in pineapple salsa. Very muted textures and tastes. No depth. Fish was fresh and well cooked though. All in all, nothing was awful but nothing was great either. I’m sure we’ll be back and hopefully the menu will be revamped with some creative and interesting dishes.

    Haliimaile General Store is my go to restaurant for any occasion. It doesn’t matter if I have off islanders visiting or if I want to catch up over dinner with a good friend. The food, service, and ambience is always consistent. Kudos!

    Id been here in 2000 and 2003 and only just returned about a week ago. The place is relatively the same, still top-notch, but it is VERY expensive, so be forewarned you wont be getting out of there cheap. That said, terrific service, great cocktails, delicious crab/shrimp cakes, and tasty food. I'd definitely go back again...though may have to save up again for it haha

    Quaint and adorable. Family friendly. Directly across from the Maui Gold Pineapple Farm tour so we went after our tour. The Kona coffee cheesecake was one of the best cheesecakes I’ve had.

    Love the location and ambience. Savannah was our server and she was very attentive. In fact everyone there was. The fresh catch was delicious and beautifully prepared. The desserts are gorgeous.

    From the presentation and taste of the food you would think you were in an exclusive restaurant. However, the atmosphere is fun and relaxed. Service was excellent. Server was very versed on each dish and gave excellent suggestions. This restaurant is definitely a hidden gem!

    Server Savanah was great. Questions I had on a beer recently added to the menu where she didn’t have the answers.. she asked and got answers for me. Odie stopped by to say hello, between the both of them, I felt like family in the restaurant…. The Crab cake pizza and beet salad was over the top and the fresh catch ( Ono) on a bed of Risotto exceed my expectations… not that I went there with some… top notch. Scotch selection was nice, double MacCallan 12 yr finished the entree well and served as a great prelude to ‘Love in a Cup’…. Overall, an excellent experience for a guy who lives in Makawao. Mark

    Another great dinner, our 35thin a row. The split charge of $8 gave us two full plates of all the side items and split the main fish serving, more than enough. We enjoyed the absolutely fresh ono. The Baja margarita with a touch of jalapeño and a generous doses of tequila is great. Fine service and a beautiful setting as well.

    This is a comfortable, classy, quality restaurant by the talented chef Beverly Gannon. We have returned each year for maybe the past 15+ years ( except for COVID 2020 year ). We have never been disappointed. The enchilada pie is worth a trip to Maui. The mahi mahi fish sandwich would be a $50 meal anywhere else, if served as a filet. It was delicious. The chicken salad is the best anywhere you could go in the USA. And the ribs!! Excellent. To say we love this place does not do it justice— this place deserves its awards, accolades and national recognition- including the James Beard Award. The problem then is that it would be harder to get reservations. We make ours well in advance- only because we really want to get there for lunch. Enjoy a long, full meal. Have dessert. Skip dinner back at the beach. Buy the cookbook, but you’ll never duplicate the food quantity or experience of this lovely piece of art in the middle of the sugar field of Maui uplands.

    The service was friendly and the ambience was pleasant, but I would not recommend getting the catch of the day (it was ono) because it was overcooked/dry. The fish I ordered last time I visited was also over cooked. The other dishes looked good though. The main issue we had was that my daughter was served spoiled milk. The server apologized and was unable to replace her milk because all the milk they had was expired.

    Meals are always outstanding. Been coming here almost since Bev Gannon was a teenager. Quality has not changed. Still noisy but what the heck. Cocktails are always superb.

    It’s a bit of a drive to go there from the west side of the island, but so worth it. From the staff to the service, it makes your dining experience memorable. Then, the food was amazing. Starting with the appetizers, followed by the delicious entrees and to finish it off with the desserts, it was truly wonderful. Can’t go wrong with any of the desserts. We had the lolikoi crème brûlée, Kona coffee cheesecake and the pineapple upside down cake. Their Tai Mai is the best in the island which is their version of Mai Tai. We’ll definitely go back again.
