The ambience was not there, the music was far too loud even though we asked twice for it to be turned down… we could not have a conversation with family and friends as it was too loud.. which spoilt the evening.. the food was outstanding though… but we won’t return due to the noise on the top floor seating area.

We celebrated my mum’s 50th and she loved it! Staff were friendly & couldnt have done more in the restaurant. The women at reception weren’t as welcoming though but the waiters and waitresses in the restaurant 10/10 & the food 10/10

I have been to hakassan many times and this time we went to meet some friends from USA . Every was as it was expected and great food and service . It was Saturday night so as expected it was very busy . If there was anything to pick , maybe the toilets Should have been cleaner . Otherwise fabulous as always .

Food and service are unsurpassed. They even have an excellent non-alcoholic wine. Very expensive but worth every penny.

Overall the food was okay, but the service left little to be desired. The waiter was friendly, but lacked professionalism and understanding of how to provide good service. We ordered three set menus as well as other dishes along with various cocktails and wines. The restaurant wasn’t overly busy and there were empty tables by the time our food was served (around 9:30 onwards). When the waiter wanted to signal whether we were ready to order, I got a forceful shove on the shoulder to ask if I was ready (which was odd and off putting to begin with). Our food was practically thrown as us, at random intervals all over the table, and the drinks came sporadically and we had to repeatedly ask for drinks that hadn’t arrived. Our drinks would only be served from one corner of the table by one of the bar staff, and would awkwardly reach across us rather than walk to the other side of the table. This happened numerous times and created an awkward atmosphere when ordering more drinks. When we got the bill, I asked for the service charge to be removed as it was £98 and the service had not been anywhere to that level. This dumbfounded the waiter and he just stared at us, took the bill away and gave us an updated one without anything else said. It again created an awkward atmosphere and we paid and left immediately. Overall we were in the restaurant for around 2 1/2 hours and spent £650 on food and drink that was okay to good but not great or outstanding, and with service that was way below standard. Be careful when visiting a restaurant like this and be mindful of the 15% service charge when it seems to rely on its reputation and name, rather than its food and great service instead.
