My wife and I enjoyed our anniversary here and had such a great time. Great bartender to begin and an excellent server who made our night special. Unbeatable atmosphere and great service and food.
Great experience, amazing food, fabulous service!!
Love this place! Great food and our server was fantastic.
Thank you for making my birthday celebration so wonderful :)
The food was great, atmosphere was nice. Loved the patio seating. The only thing I didn’t like was the two hour table hold limit, we were 2 minutes past and the waiter was standing there glaring at us to leave. Will definitely come back when it’s less packed to see if that makes any difference.
It was so dark inside the restaurant that people were using their phone's flashlight feature to read the menu.
The waitress was attentive.
We ordered two appetizers, three entrees and a side dish.
The appetizers were OK. The chicken appetizer was nice, but they served three to two people.
None of the entrees were outstanding. The paella was nice, but had more liquid than optimal. The beef was OK, but it was stringy and hard to separate. The pork belly had a good flavor. The side dish was bland.
The meal was not really memorable food-wise and was not inexpensive (even taking into account that we ordered extra to try more).
The restaurant does not have a bathroom inside.
I have had better Cuban food in Irvine, recently, for a cheaper price, and I could see the menu without using my phone. I really wanted to like this place. It is eclectic and different. It has a nice bar maybe that is the selling point
Unique menu, great ambiance, a little noisy, but a very good experience,..
Excellent food of choice and exceptional service;)
Service and ambience was great! My wife and enjoy enjoyed the cocktails a lot. The food was so so. We got the lechon, the meat was a bit dry. Also got the skirt steak, the flavors were good, but a bit on the tough side. Expected the meat dishes to be a bit better.
Service was not good we did not get our appetizers till after our main course
Had to ask what happen and no explanation they just brought it after our main course no apologies
Just drop and ran- we didn’t even want it at that point.
Never asked if we wanted a refill on cocktails or drinks when glasses empty.
Was huge a disappointment after past visits
First time here and it was magical! Spend the evening to celebrate my sister's birthday. We enjoyed the patio with an AMAZING server named Sean. I am a server also and I really appreciate people who are attentive, polite, and authentic. Thank you, Sean!!
The light level was very low. We, and others, had to use our cell phone’s flashlight app to read the menus. I complained to the manager about the lighting and when we got the bill they had given us a very substantial discount! I’ve been to the Costa Mesa location many times as well as the Irvine Spectrum location and they both have always been great. This event was an anomaly but they handled it very well.
A little noisy. Next time I will request a n indoor table.
Disappointed that no points were awarded through open table.
Amazing time. Great place.
Our food arrived cold. I asked for something with my meal and the server didn’t bring it until my meal was almost done. They said they would space out out appetizers and mains. As soon as the appetizers were cleared our mains were delivered. It felt rushed
Love everything about Habana except that I had every single busser, server, guest and even a manager bump (hard) Into mine and my daughters chair every time they passed. I even asked sour server to please communicate somehow for the employees not to. Maybe a table or two less to make it enjoyable when your dropping $400 on a meal.
The experience was great. The smell when we walked in was spicy fantastic. Started with the cheese plate which was very good. Had the pork shank with yucca mashed potatoes and collared greens - Fantastic. Tender and flavorful. Couldn't keep my wife's fork off my plate. The tables are a little close together, and it seems to enhance the overall atmosphere with the Cuban music. Tons of fun with really good food.
First time and celebrating our anniversary. Great time, ambiance and food!
First time at this location and it was great! Came to celebrate my birthday with friends.
I always try to bring my out of town work friends to a new restaurant each time they visit. I was hoping they would enjoy the atmosphere and of course the food. Both were a HIT! Everyone enjoyed their meal - every last bite!
Amazing is all!
First of all, the location of the place is very hip and livly. The resturant inside was very dark could use a little more light. At times it was hard to see menu and food. Food was delicious cant complain about much. To say the least my collard greens where a bit salty. Service was quick appetizers and food came out very very quickly. But so was the interaction with our waiter. Short, fast and straight to the point. Did not get the feeling of being welcome. Overall my experiance was da bomb. I highly recommend this place if you are trying to experience something other that burgers and Mexican food. California pff....
We can in for lunch, sat down Immediately since place was a little empty, we went up to let take in brunch buffet and everything looked delicious, when we went to taste the food was extremely cold, when we asked if it could be heated up we were told that they could not take food from our plate to the back, when I asked if they could take some food from their buffet to heat up they also refused. I was brought a warm plate instead which does absolutely nothing. We “had” cold lechón and warm rice, cold Paella, the plantains were ok, the media noche sandwich was about the only thing that was good. We didn’t even try the desserts at this point.
The waitress did have our meals comped which was the least they could do for such poor hospitality.
I had this place bookmarked for over a year and finally made it. The service was great, our server was on top of everything and the ambiance is good too. Upon arriving, definitely gave a great impression. However, I expected more from the food. Appetizers are small dishes, we ordered 2 different ones and each had 2-3 pieces, so we had to order extra of each to accommodate our group of 4. We ordered a pitcher of Sangria and it was watered down. Entrees taste good, but are not extraordinary.
Overall: Habana is more a of a looks nice restaurant with great service, but for the price, the food is not up to par. I am sticking to my local Cuban place.
Thanksgiving dinner. The food was amazing! Service top notch. Presentation outstanding. Thank you
Friendly staff, interesting choices for appetizers and our dinners were good. My only issue is the lack of parking spaces for the patrons of Habana.
Seated at an awkward table where two different other groups were bumping into us. Service was slow, our table wobbled, and we got no choice of seating despite having a reservation. Been here several times before and likely won't be coming back.
Really great food and service at Habana. Unfortunately, these factors cannot override the horrific noise level. It was nearly impossible to have a conversation at dinner. Too bad, it is lovely to look at and we really enjoyed the food, too. Beware the high cost of corkage.
Good food and service. The atmosphere is fun and feels very Cuban. Music played on the patio is very loud. So much so, it was hard to have a conversation. And while the food was good, it isn't truly authentic Cuban, but Mexican inspired Cuban. Cubans do NOT put jalapeños on their dishes. Also, prices are very high for what you are getting.
Always have a great meal at both locations.
Nice music and vibes. Great food. Ahi tuna steak with the cuban chopped salad is delicious
Would recommend a menu in large print for older folks w impaired vision. Lighting was beautiful but I could barely read menu.
The ambiance, the food and service were amazing. The cocktail we had was not so great, but maybe we ordered wrong. Will definitely go back!
Wonderful staff and food!
I was looking forward to taking my teenage daughter to a pre-theatre dinner at Habana's. The ambiance is great but unlike a recent experience I had at their Irvine location, Costa Meas was disappointing. Perhaps because it was just the two of us and not a party of adults with lots of drinks but the server seemed as if he was just taking our order because we were sitting in his section and he had too. The empanadas came out great but when the entrees arrived they were not hot like they had been sitting in the kitchen window for a while. I couldnt find the waiter to send them back and my daughter didn't want to be embarrassed. I hope this was just a bad one-off experience as I would hate to see Habanas go to great to not good.
Casual pleasant ambiance. Had the paella which was OK, not great.
Cuban focus on seafood. Avoid the chocolate dessert.
Great food, great service, over priced food. Xxxxxx
Great Sunday brunch. A bit pricey, but great food and large selection. A fun place to eat.
I love the place my wife fell on love with it .. great food just amazing overall
Music overpowered conversation on the patio. The last time we were here we ate inside.
