Amazing food and service.
Cocktails could have been better.
Our server was excellent. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and made sincere recommendations. I think his name was Kevin.
Great food and service
So good! Can’t wait to come back!
Fresh and excellent tasting, ceviche, tuna tartare and seafood dishes. A friend recommended GW Fins and now I am recommending it to others!
Best food and service in New Orleans. Seated in the “VIP room” where we could carry on a conversation at a normal tone of voice. (More restaurant diners should learn that yelling in a restaurant is bad manners.)
Arrived ten minutes before 5 pm and had a premeal drink at the bar. Staff was inviting. When table was ready, staff found us and we were shown to our table. Starters were just right in quantity and tasty. Dinner was not hurried but timely. Meal was superb. I highly recommend GW Fins to all visiting New Orleans.
Our server was awesome! Food is always good. Thank you for another great experience!
Went there for my birthday and would go back in a heart beat.....the fried snapper belly was out of this world and the scalibut will change your mind if your not big on fish. This is a must go while in the big easy.
GW Fins was wonderful! My husband and I were completely pleased with our experience. The food was delicious and fresh, and even though it's a higher-priced place, the portions were quite generous and we left full. I loved how many local options they had on the menu as well!
A wonderful dining experience! From the hostess to the "biscuit deliverer" to our top-notch professional waiter Anthony, GW Fins delivers!!! We came a year ago and said we had to come back..it's now an annual tradition - we would come to NOLA just for GW Fins! If you love seafood and being treated well but also like family, this is the place!
Food was delicious and overall service was great. I might recommend that staff not stand around talking as it added to a noisy restaurant. Definitely recommend in NO.
This place is excellent. The experience at both the bar and the dining area was above expectation. Food was by far the highlight of the whole dining experience, at it should be. We asked the waiter for recommendations, and he was very accommodating to explain the menu, ideas, and recommendations. Others have stated this is a loud atmosphere, but we found it to be lower crowd noise volumes compared to other venues of the same design. Highly recommend if you are wanting a more upscale dining evening.
Food was awesome. Service was fair. Definitely would go back again.
Service was GREAT (Kevin)! Lobster dumpling appetizer was one of the best dishes we've ever eaten. Scalibut and Sheepshead were good but not great. The sauce on both were almost non-existent and sadly not room temperature. Crème Brulee was good but very small portion.
Everything from service to food was outstanding. We had Salmon and Scallops as well as the creme brulee. My only change would be the table was so wide, there was 2 of us, that noise did impact conversation at times.
Fabulous meal, service and overall experience!
We had an awesome and delicious meal at GW Fins. Probably one of the best meals we have ever had. Thank you for making our time in NOLA so special. We loved the biscuits! Everything was delicious but the biscuits and mashed sweet potatoes are the bomb!! Not to be missed. Service was excellent! Will definitely return.
The service was excellent and our service was great! I only like fresh seafood, i can't stand a fishy taste but the Red Snapper was soooo fresh tasting we loved it and can't wait to return.
The food was absolutely phenomenal! From the time we walked in until the time we left we were treated like we were the only people there. I loved the atmosphere they have created in the main dining room!
Great time at GW Find. Oliver our waiter was professional and nice. Food was amazing. Next time we are in New Orleans we will definitely be back
The lobster dumplings are a must order but was a little underwhelmed by the Scalibut and the Elixir Mule tasted watered down. The service was attentive. Overall had a good experience but wouldn’t necessarily return.
Anticipated a very good meal from previous review of the restaurant. we were not disappointed. The food was excellent and service was very friendly, helpful and prompt. One of the best meals I have eaten in New Orleans. They are well deserved of their reputation for quality food and dining experience.
The service was exceptional. The wait staff was extremely attentive and anticipated our needs before we even realized we needed something. We went for our anniversary, and the staff at GW Fins truly went out of their way to make it a wonderful, memorable evening. Plus, the food was simply phenomenal. I would go again in a heartbeat. 10/10
Excellent! And the parmesan crusted sheepshead fish is amazing!
One of the best restaurants in a city where there’s plenty of wonderful places to dine. The ambiance is warm and welcoming and not overly noisy. The service is impeccable. They pass fresh out of the oven biscuits as a welcome. The oysters are a must have. They are served in their shells that have been placed in a roaster and are heated to 500 degrees. They come out sizzling hot.
All of the entrees are fabulous. The Scalibut tops my list, though.
And save room for the Salty Malty! It’s worth it!!!
Juste excellent! Nourriture, ambiance service... bon rapport qualité prix
We had the best time at GW Fin’s. Everyone working there was so wonderful, our server Paul was fantastic. They even went above and beyond when we told them we were in NOLA for our Honeymoon. Would go back, and recommend again and again.
Great dining experience. The server was very pleasant and helpful. We started with the outstanding lobster dumplings. My wife had the Scalibut. I had the red snapper with dirty rice. Both entrees were excellent. We finished with the bread pudding which was perfect.
Had poached pear salad and Tuna main, both excellent
Had a reservation but still had to wait about 20 minutes past reservation time. Other than that we were very pleased - excellent food and service at our table.
GW Fins is an excellent seafood restaurant in the French Quarter. The ambiance is very pleasant and the service could not have been better. The food is delicious and perfectly prepared. I had a wonderful beet salad to start and then moved on to the scallops and risotto for my entree. I would recommend both dishes. Dessert was a delightful bread pudding. GW Fins is a perfect place to dine while in New Orleans. Make reservations for the dining room but the same menu is available at the bar if you can’t get a last minute reservation. Definitely go.
We always have dinner at Fins when we’re in NOLA. This visit was to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The staff went above and beyond to make our dining experience a truly exceptional experience. The food and service were superb as always.
Great meal, excellent and attentive service, nice ambiance...perfect for a special dinner!!
Main courses were just average seafood. The starters of fun cheeks and tuna tartare were the best things we had.
Best meal we had in NOLA.
Amazing service from Jason, uniquely local preparation and absolutely delicious
Scallops were so good. Served with a mushroom risotto. Husband had salmon which was also good. The dessert- Samoa-was to die for.
This is my wife's favorite restaurant in New Orleans. We have come to expect fabulous food, great service and a unique experience. This meal was in the afternoon of the College Football Playoff final game so the city was full of people. GW Fins opened especially for this event. With all the craziness going on in the streets, Fins provide yet another perfect meal. From start to finish we felt that we were special guests and management checked regularly to make sure everything was going well. We could not have asked for a better experience. Of course it helped that LSU won the game.
