Went to Great Maple and debated having the SD Restaurant Week Menu but went with the standard menu.

Loved the whole midcentury aesthetic, from the chairs to the bar setting and even the napkins.

I had the House Brisket Hash while my girlfriend had the Seasonal Zucchini Scramble Melt. We both split an order of beignets.

The service was good, considering it was a busy Sunday brunch, but nothing to right home about.

But on to the food. My hash was delicious, a solid 8.5/10. Definitely a smaller portion then I was expecting as to why I give the value 4 stars out of 5.

My girlfriends melt was about an 8/10. The grilled bread (which was on both of our plates) was a nice touch, but the remaining sauces/yolk left over in our dishes didn't mean as well as I thought it would.

Nevertheless, the Great Maple was a brunch spot that I'd like to go to again, maybe not on a busy Sunday though.

Making reservations is key. They sat us right away. Food & service were amazing. We got the French toast logs. Amazing! A little noisy but we could still hear each other so it wasn’t that bad. If anything the noise provided more conversation privacy at the table.

We missed our flights flying out of San Diego so decided to Uber over to great maple. It was one of the first choices on open table, and they had availability, so we booked it. This was just what we needed. We were frustrated and wondering about how to spend our day until our flight, and this was the perfect start. We began with the maple bacon donuts and coffee and finished with the most magnificent breakfast scrambles We’ve ever had. I would definitely recommend. And, it’s just a quick Uber ride from the airport! Thanks to the staff for making us feel so welcome.

We took our visitor for restaurant week lunch...every bite was delicious. Kale/quinoa salad has so many good things in it (please cut the kale smaller) and French dip sandwich with crispy onion rings was perfect! Tiny cherry pie desserts were the perfect ending and delicious. All that food means the place is crazy busy so all servers are operating at max speed and it can take awhile to get your next need accommodated (not the server's fault).
For the third visit now, our bill was presented and desserts forgotten. Really, this has happened on 3 occasions with totally different servers...hmmm...when asked for, it takes awhile to get them but desserts eventually arrived and were delicious. I'm a dessert girl; I won't ever forget to ask for that course:)

Probably one of the best meals I’ve had in a while. Went here for restaurant week and was blown away by the food and drinks. Brown butter gnocchi was my favorite and wanted to lick my plate clean, it was so delicious! A shame they don’t offer their cioppino on their regular menu as I would have loved to go back for it - so yummy!

It happened to be restaurant week and so perhaps it was busier for lunchtime than usual, though I don’t think so. Our waitress was seemingly rushing around but was just not attentive. It took over 10-15 minutes once I was seated with the other person who had arrived earlier, for the waitress to even acknowledge I was there. She then gave me the wrong menus for what I asked adding to the delay.
I have not had such bad service at a restaurant in awhile. The delicious food exonerated the place!

SERVICE WAS VERY SLOW MAINLY THE BAR. WAITED FOR OVER 15 MINS. FOR OUR ORDERED DRINKS. BARTENDER WAS CLEANING UP TABLES, TALKING WITH COLLEAGUES AND OUR DRINKS WERE NOT PREPARED. FOOD GREAT! VALUE OK. I AM A REGULAR AND ALWAYS ENJOY OUR DINNERS AT GREAT MAPLE. HEY CHECK DESSERTS, SUPER INTERESTING SMALL SELECTION. THE PIE!!!!

This restaurant never disappoints. Restaurant week with a 3 course prix fixe meal. We ordered margaritas. A "clean" one and "spicy" one. The spicy margarita was absolutely perfect. My partner enjoyed his as well. The wedge was perfect with a lovely bleu cheese dressing and crispy bacon. Yum !! I had the crispy chicken risotto. Chicken cooked perfectly tender and the risotto was delish with the right amount of cheese, asparagus, and mushrooms. My partner ordered the pork ribs, knife not needed as meat fell off the bones. Served with mash potatoes and veggies. The desserts were a bit of a disappointment. Tasty, but the chocolate cake was on the dry side. The caramel sauce and whipped cream gave it a boost. The cheese cake was pretty tasty, I prefer a more delicate graham cracker crust. The atmosphere is fun, upscale diner. Our server and other staff members provided great service.

Came here due to all the reviews! Amazing food! Highly recommend the maple bacon doughnuts. I’m not a huge fan of bacon and maple flavored items but...OMG!

Great deal for restaurant week allowing you each to choose from the set menu or ala carte. We did a combo of both, starting with tasty brie grilled cheese with honey off the main menu and a luscious creamy, winter squash soup, followed by the gnocchi starter and cioppino loaded with clams, a couple large shrimp and a tender piece of white fish. Cheesecake dessert and side of popovers were phenomenal. You can't go wrong with any baked item here - breads, pastries, pies and quiches are the stars but definitely worth checking dinner out here if you haven't. I also love the stylish interior with a mid-century modern meets diner vibe. Service was also on point.

Went with friends to celebrate birthdays. One of the birthday lady’s recommended Great Maple. The service was great, the food was outstanding and we all had a good time. The server also brought two pieces of cheesecake with a candle in each piece to the two birthday ladies. I’m also going to try your UTC location. Thanks

We live in the neighborhood and wanted to try the happy hour menu. We shared a bottle of Champagne and each ordered a wedge salad and 2 fish tacos. The food and wine were delicious, but it was all brought out at once and consequently we felt rushed.

We made reservations and got in on time. We were actually about 5 minutes late, so had called to let them know. My Grand-daughter works there so we were treated spectacularly. When we left, she was off the floor but the manager went and got her so we could say goodbye.
The food selections are varied and everything was fresh and hot and presented well. One of my friends had never been there and was impressed with the quality of the food, and she has eaten at most of San Diego's good restaurants.
The staff are happy, and that adds to customers dining experience.
We drive there quite a ways, and it's well worth it.

Good food but nothing too special. I ordered the chilaquiles and told the waiter to hold the onion and there was onion in my dish. Also, thought it would be a bit bigger, it’s a bit crowded, this feeling a bit claustrophobic. Parking is very minimal. I would go back to try another dish though.

Finally tried this place and was somewhat underwhelmed. Service was slow despite visiting at lunch during the week. The bacon donuts were divine, but the rest of our meals were not very good. I had the “Louisiana Purchase”, which appeared to be similar to a Benny with Cajun ingredients. There was far too much bread; breaded shrimp, bread under the spinach, and served with a massive side of bread. The poached eggs were undercooked. I can’t believe they opted for popcorn shrimp. It was like something out of the frozen section at Von’s. I barely ate half my meal and paid $40 (two brunch cocktails). Nice atmosphere but I probably won’t return.

I love Great Maple. I've been here several times, as I live in the neighborhood. I've never been disappointed with the food or service. This particular visit was on New Year's Eve. The restaurant was definitely crowded, but not uncomfortable. Our server, Maritza, was terrific. She had great recommendations, and was on top of everything. Would definitely go back.

Great Maple is our "go to" place on a movie and dinner date night and as a spot to entertain guest. They have yet to disappoint. Only warning: On a night like New Year's Eve it is going to be crowded and noisy.

Very pricey for what you get; food should be next level for that price. Portions are huge and would be nice to be able to order half portions. Staff seemed like it was a pleasure for my group to be at the restaurant as opposed making the guest fall in love with the service.
