Great service. Wonderful, tasty food.
Main courses test and generous.
Interesting merging of tastes.
Pleasant, helpful staff.
First visit to Great Maple...and I loved it! Michele was my server, and I knew it was gonna be a good experience when she suggested the Lemon Lavender Mimosa. It was excellent! I followed that with the silver dollar pancakes with eggs and bacon. Simply delicious! But if you have a big appetite, go for the French toast logs....they're huge!!
Food was fantastic, large portions. Mild wait but worth it. No AC though (repair techs on site). Made it very uncomfortable. Service was excellent t as always!! We'll be back!!
We normally like this restaurant. Unfortunately, today it seemed over crowded and we were rushed by our server. I was never asked if I wanted a refill on my coffee (which I did!), and she came up to us and asked us if she could bring us the check after we had been there for 37 minutes. So, that was kind of lame. Food as usual is very good, not great. The cocktail selection for brunch is good. We will continue to come, as this was an unusual experience—usually we get excellent service there, it has a lot of options, and its central location make it worth coming.
Great food and service A+++++
Never disappoints. Always filling and we share meals! Donuts are a must!! All mimosas are amazing!
Food and service good. Noise level almost unbearable. Will not return to this location.
There potato cake is more cake than potato. The French toast, maple bacon donuts and beignets are all heavy. They land in your stomach with a thud. The bacon dishes all benefited from the great bacon. The breakfast potatoes (fingerlings) were very good. I hear the fried chicken is good but I didn’t try it
The place was so noisy we had problems having a conversation at a small table.
Took my friends here for the first time yesterday and they loved it! I’m a regular eater of the brisket popover. Also love the decor and the service was great. Thanks!
Amazing service and even better food
We had a great brunch! Food was amazing as usual, bahn mi sandwich and the smoked short rib hash - both excellent! Service was great, had a wonderful server who was attentive! We sat outside, a little loud, but it was Sunday Funday, everyone was in a great mood!
Recommend adding more vegan choices to the menu. Especially for breakfast and dinner
It was good !
I have eaten at Great Maple many times and left extremely happy. Yesterday was a huge disappointment. Service was slow. The restaurant was very noisy. They were unable to serve the beef brisket popover because they said they were out at 11:30 am. Since we ordered another popover, I am assuming they were out of the beef brisket and not the popover. Really? The food was not as well prepared as it has been on previous visits. I hope this was an exception, and not the trend.
Been here a few times, food and service is great. The egg white and avo toast is a bit pricey for what you get. French toast, bacon donuts are a must try! As are the chilaquiles :)
This was our second visit to Great Maple. We were excited to return but felt that the service and aspects of the food were lacking. We went for brunch and sat outside. As we were sitting, what looked like the manager and another sever, were cleaning most of the other dirty empty tables. They were acting that we were not even there, shouting across the patio about break time and different schedules. It was so weird and crass. Our main server was giving the bare minimum in terms of attention and personality. It took us going into the restaurant several times to get her to come outside and help us.
The food was a mix. The beignets and French toast were great, the egg dishes had cold potato hash browns and cold toast and just felt uninspired. I don’t know if we will be back.
Very noisy which isn’t a huge deal if you don’t plan on having a deep conversation with your table-mates. Not the best for catching up with old friends though.
Food was delicious and so were the drinks
Everything was very tasty and well prepared. The only thing we were a "little" disappointed with was the super small size of the scones. We ordered one planning to split it prior to our main brunch orders (French Toast Logs and filled popover) expecting a regular sizes scone but were surprised when it was so small.
Other than that it was great and would definitely eat there again.
Great Maple was amazing. I booked through open table so I didnt have a 30 minute wait like all the other people standing around outside. The staff were nice and service was super quick. The food was amazing! Not only did it look and taste great it was also huge. Great value for money.
If you are a foodie, this place is a must. We went for Saturday brunch. The restaurant was at full capacity and we were seated in the patio area. That turned out to be absolutely perfect as the noise level inside the restaurant was what you would expect with the full crowd. We were greeted by our server almost immediately and had our drinks and first course, beignets which I would highly recommend, brought to the table within a few minutes. Service was perfect, food was even better. Order the Maple Bacon donuts to go!
Four adults and one child went to Great Maple on Sat July 28. We had a reservation for 8:00 and I’m so glad we did. The restaurant was almost full by 8:30. Definitely get there when they open, or make a reservation! I had a special; BLT quiche. Although it was lukewarm in temp when served it was still delicious. My husband had a typical 2 egg breakfast that he enjoyed. My daughter had blueberry pancakes that she shared with her son, they finished the plate. My son-in -law had the smoked brisket hash and he was a happy camper. He raved about it all the way to the airport! Service was great, our coffee cups werecontinuously refilled. I would definitely go back and would love to try a bacon maple donut!
Great food. Variety to pick from. Great list of appetizers.
Great seasonal selection! The halibut tacos were phenomenal! Go on a Friday after 6pm and they do a complimentary champagne toast! Great service and ambiance. Good for kiddos, we took ours. A little loud for our son but he managed and really liked his dinner.
Needs to have gluten free bread option. Other than that everything is fantastic.
Delicioso y todos súper amables
All of the food was flawlessly prepared. Our server (Emil?) greeted us about 10 minutes after we sat down--not a big deal, but it seemed a bit too long. Everything happened quickly after that. Main seating area was full---it is noisy and a bit challenging to carry on a conversation with a table-mate without raising one's voice.
All this being said...we'll be back.
Being able to reserve via Open Table is a big plus.
I’ve dined at GM a gazillion times. The location, decor, and menu are fantastic. HOWEVER...once more tables (x2?) were crowded into an otherwise lovely space its ambiance tanked. Too loud. Too crowded. No intimacy whatsoever. It used to be special. It’s now a hip, loud, albeit tasty diner. #sad
This was our favorite place for brunch until this last visit... hostess was beyond rude... And we had a reservation... Ruined my BD brunch basically before it started... Missed a lot of extra liquor and food profit by making me wait until all 4 of our cars found parking and everyone walked back to the restaurant... before customer service was dead it used to be the diners choice to wait for the whole party or sit and have drinks and snacks, (ie added revenue) but the militanat hostess obviously doesn't care about revenue... Only being in charge... We won't be back...ever!
Great food, great service! I went with my husband, mom and sister and 6 month old daughter who still needs to stay in the car seat. They were able to accommodate us without any problem. It’s one of my favorite spots in San Diego
great food asn service A+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
The staff was amazing. We were running late, so I called to inform them that we were coming, just running late and they were so gracious and held our table with no issues. Food was exceptional as always and very friendly waiter.
The service and food was great. The noise level was painful.
That said, when we asked that the music be turned lower, the server complied.
Maybe they can find a way to make the to room more quiet-conversation friendly
Food fell flat this time
We had a very nice brunch, seated early, with great service. Chorizo scrambled was quite good as was the scallion pancake. Scones were very nice but small. Silver dollar pancakes could have been really the size of a silver dollar and crispy around the edges. Not sure why they are called silver dollar pancakes since they were the opposite. Cream, butter, and syrup were great. Bloody Mary was quite good but none of the 6 choices was very unique.
Food was on the bland side unfortunately. Portions are big but disappointed with the taste. We had the Louisiana purchase popover, house smoked beef brisket hash, one armed mary, lavendar lemonade and beignets. Best items were the lemonade and the beignets. I've had the french toast logs previously and that was tasty.
This was delicious! I've been to the one in Newport Beach, and this did not disappoint. The only issue is parking - they have a very small lot and very little available parking nearby. We had to drive around for a while to find a spot, so make sure to leave extra time for that! Also highly recommend a reservation!
Great food every time!
Delicious food and good portions. I will definitely be back.
