Food was delicious! Great dinner catching up with friends. Easy to have conversations. Service was a little slow, I think someone on staff had to leave suddenly and remaining folks struggled a bit. Service was friendly just a bit slow.
Noise level was so high it was kinda impossible to have a normal conversation. Food was ok- but why miniaturize the prices on the menu? Well probably cause prices are kinda high for value received . It was an ok experience but nothing like I expected for the prices charged
The food was great, as usual. We have been here at least 8 times in a few years and are never disappointed. Interesting wine selection, casual pace, reasonable prices. Thanks for another perfect dinner experience, Great Maple!
The food was ok. It was expensive for the taste/quality. Nice seating and ambience. Service was ok.
The food was deli but very overpriced in my opinion.
Meet my best friend with my sister to Great Maple first time....had salmon and was excellent...cooked perfectly and beautiful presentation...we will be back!
Very noisy and crowded. The tables are placed closely to each other too so this makes it even harder when people are trying to speak loudly. Food was good, but all our meals were heavy and greasy. I got the tofu scramble. Very creative menu- great comfort food if that's what you like. Beautifully designed restaurant! I'll be going early morning next time when it's not so noisy.
Great food, cool decor, WAY to noisy, hard to hold a conversation and the music in the bathroom is ridiculously loud!
The food is amazing and the all of the waiters are very friendly and attentive.
Prices were a little steep...$17.95 for eggs is a bit much but they did provide lots of bacon. Also it was very loud but I will go back sometime.
Food is too carb loaded for my taste. Most popular brunch offerings are primarily essentially French toast and tortilla scramble type offerings. No omelettes on menu, only a few high priced salads. Maple bacon donuts are overrated. The hype for brunch is better than the delivery. $80 plus tip for 3 people, no alcohol, over the top pricing.
Food was amazing - huge portions and great selection. Good service, even when slammed for busy Sunday Brunch. Price point is a bit high with a bill of $70+ for two that included one breakfast entree and one mimosa each.
Amazing food, awesome service. Fav brunch spot!
DELICIOSO con un ambiente muy Agusto para compartir con amigos
It was my moms birthday and we are making it a tradition to have brunch here every year in her birthday.
We made a reservation and did not arrive with our complete party. The hostess said we could wait until our party was there. Since they were running late, they sat us at our table so we could start ordering.
We had a few questions about the menu and our waitress was lovely and helped us decide on what to get.
We told them our party was running a little late. We ordered for everybody and everybody arrived like 3 minutes after everything was served. All the food was delicious. I wasn’t crazy about the popover but that was me hahah. My mom had a fantastic time and we enjoyed everything. We can never go wrong with the Great Maple
Another visit to one of our very favorite restaurants. Anything we've tried here has been exceptional. Favorites for our family are the Mushroom Risotto, the Moroccan Lamb Burger, the Salted Carmel Ribs, any of their wonderful soups or deserts. When we have visitors in town or are heading to a concert or play, this is our "go to" restaurant. It never disappoints.
Went to Great Maple for lunch on a Friday at 1:00. It was still busy and it seemed they were short handed. No one to greet us for a while. We were seated where children had sat so the floor under the table had food and crayons all over. I pointed this out to the hostess and she brought a broom to clean up. Rocky start but after the service was friendly and food was delicious. Best pork sandwich I've ever had!! Huge portions so had some carry out containers when we left. You could totally share anything on the menu. Will go back.
My friends and I were simply very disappointed. The service was very spotty, with several different servers helping us. The food (and coffee) was over priced for small portions (2 egg breakfast is tiny) and not very flavorful and lacking the advertised ingredients (squash blossom popover, only one tiny squash blossom :( ). Best thing was the pocorn shrimp in the Louisiana purchase popover breakfast.
We really enjoyed dining here. The vibe was fun and friendly and the food was quite good. Strongly recommend the salted caramel slow roasted ribs and, for a vegetarian option, try the toasted barley, king trumpet mushrooms and roast carrots dish. We visited on a Monday, so it was slow and quiet - likely more bustling, etc., on other days.
We loved our experience at Great Maple. Not only was the restaurant fun with a modern take on the retro diner style, but the food was amazing. We visited form out of town and were lucky enough to take advantage of San Diego's dining week. For my first course I had the pumpkin curry soup, which was, hands down one of the best soups I have ever eaten. My friend had the truffled deviled eggs which looked amazing! Next was the crispy chicken with mushroom risotto. So, so , good! The risotto was exceptional. And finally I had the chocolate po de crem. This came with a caramel sauce and home made whipped cream. Perfection! Our service was awesome too!
i was excited about the lunch menu (on restaurant week). But when we got there, only brunch menu was available. I wish it would have been made clear. The items on that menu weren't interesting, and I would not have purchased the special had I known.
The whole menu is pricey. I have found even when you order something less expensive it's not worth the savings. I may be critical because of the cost, but that's what happens when the price is so high; I expect exceptional and I have yet to enjoy an exceptional dish there. It's just good.
I love going to The Great Maple and now my boyfriend does too. The food was delicious and served quickly. The price is appropriate. Will definitely come again!
Phenomenal food and service- my ONLY complaint- the table was small- tough for 3 people to eat and feel comfortable and laid back.
I do not understand why it is so difficult for the staff to sit me (and my guest) in a comfortable booth. I made my reservation for Saturday evening, as always, several days in advance. Yet once again we were seated at a very small table right next to the " reception "area. Very noisy area, not really comfortable or relaxing. Also, the mushroom fries I had ordered were EXCEEDING hot and it took about ten minutes for them to cool down to a temperature where they were edible without burning the inside of my mouth. The waiter was friendly enough. The rest of the food was OK. For the prices Great Maple charges, I expect a lot better. Management can call me at 619-542-1018 to discuss further.
The food was great. Their burgers are well seasoned and very juicy, I will be returning very soon.
I'm going to start of by saying that I never leave reviews. Great Maple is my favorite brunch/breakfast spot. The servers are amazing and so nice! They continue checking on you very often but not to the point where you're bothered. I've came here twice with my boyfriend and we will still be coming back.
Restaurant Week is delicious!!
I have enjoyed Great Maple for breakfast several times, but didn't realize that they serve an amazing dinner! My wife and I loved it. The Mushroom Risotto was the best I've ever had! Will be back for sure.
This restaurant always delivers a tasty treat. We shared several appetizers from the happy hour menu and they were all good.
I’ve noticed that your doughnuts are going down the tubes and today was the worst ever! I brought a box home and was wondering if they were microwaved because they were really tough! Not good, they used to be so light and fluffy now tough, heavy and dense!
2nd time to G/M for a special birthday celebration. Tried the maple glazed-donuts. They are incredible. Found the scramble (eggs, tomatoes, basil, cheese?) a bit dry--eggs overcooked. Potato pancake is yummy and so was the popover. We all shared and had a good time. We'll be back.
This restaurant is trying to be fine dining and while the service was excellent the food was sub par.
Really cute place, worth the wait if you hit in a rush time!
Great restaurant week menu and drinks.
Fun for brunch, but usually crowded. Reservations help.
Went for restaurant week. Chose the items that were being offered specifically for restaurant week. Everything was delicious. Service was excellent. It was however, a bit noisy.
Love the Maple Bacon donuts for sure!! Can't wait to go back and try lunch or dinner.
The first time I went to Great Maple I had flashbacks to my great vacations in France. Love the flavors!
Jamie was a great server, and the food was tasty!
