Great ambiance, great server, great steak. I would say the appetizers (French onion dumplings and bread) and sides were ok. The au gratin type potatoe that accompanied the wagyu steak was cold to the touch on both plates. The burnt ends Mac and cheese was good not great. Like I said the steak was outstanding: the sides need to be worked on.
Amazing as always. Eat here every time we are in KC!
Andrea is an amazing server! She was very attentive to all of our questions and concerns. All of her recommendations were delicious. Upon her advice, we ordered the tiramisu dessert and it was heavenly! Thank you Andrea for a perfect evening!
Birthday dinner! Great service and special offerings for birthday boy and for our group. Andrea was very helpful, courteous and friendly. Great service
Gram and Dunn is always delicious with exceptional service.
Pleased with the food and the service is always outstanding.
Stellar as always. Excellent drinks, service, and food.
Food is always great. Tables are really close together and hard to hold a conversation without being overheard by the adjacent table.
Birthday dinner. Our waitress Joan did a great job. Very attentive and friendly.
Meeting old friend
Food is always delicious! Especially the chicken and waffles!!!
Very nice brunch. Joan was an attentive server. The fire outside was too hot for the weather but not a big deal. Great ambiance and food.
Table next to us was super loud, drunk & rowdy. We both had the pumpkin pasta dish and were both extremely disappointed.
Great service by Andrea.
Live close and frequent Gram & Dun ... not sure if I’ll be going back. Bummer as it’s usually a good experience.
Obscenely good food. Fantastic service. Best shrimp and grits I have ever had. My wife and I both loved the entire experience!
The short ribs were bland. Otherwise good as usual
The pork chop is to die for. The macorroni had great flavor but the noodles were over cooked.
Generally, it was an extremely loud atmosphere on a Sunday night @ 8:00 p.m. Specifically, I had to confront a table where expletives were being used often and loudly...no staff doing the correction, it was me.
Food (all 3 of our meals) was over-engineered and gratuitously complicated.
The food is good but brunch menu does not have many recognizable items. I'm a foodie but it was hard to find an early morning meal that fit my breakfast desires.
Put in my Open Table reservation earlier that day, and no problem getting seated at the reserved time. I chose to sit outside on the patio, next to their fire pit. Very comfortable and great waitress. The catfish was cooked perfectly, and the gooey chocolate cake was worth the extra calories. Great location !
Fantastic evening as always. Excellent food and service!
Amazing food! Wish there was a location in Denver!
My husband and I came to kc to visit our son& his girlfriend . We wanted to treat them to dinner. I had never been here before, we live in Pennsylvania. I googled restaurants and saw how pretty the place was and menu looked good. My dinner was delivered and the waiter had not even left the table when I saw a black hair ( I’m blonde )😬. They were very nice and got me a new entree( I hope it was new). We had dessert at the end and guess what , another black hair. The waitress was apologetic, but....that was disgusting. The dessert was the gram & dun dessert and hair was embedded in the top chocolate layer. They tried to tell us it was from pastry brush!!! It clearly wasn’t 🤪 Needless to say, I’m not picking the restaurants anymore.
Seating outdoors by the fire was wonderful. It was quieter there, too. Service and menu were excellent. Had a small gathering of four friends and the evening flew by.
Server was excellent!
The food, service and atmosphere is wonderful. No complaints or suggestions. We enjoy this restaurant when we want an upscale approach to comfort food.
Chips were excellent. Drinks were excellent.
Chicken and waffles advertised Maple syrup. It was not. It was not maple syrup. It was that fake crap. I even asked before I ordered if it would be actual maple syrup. No one knew.
Excellent atmosphere. I’d suggest go for drinks, chips and dessert. The desserts looked amazing.
We were sooo disappointed.
The food was very good but not the best in the area. I the main courses we had were good but the sides that came with the entrees were just OK. The desert was also just OK. I enjoyed the restaurant but as I mentioned earlier there are better in the area.
We had an outstanding server, which can make or break any evening. She definitely made ours a really good experience. Very difficult menu, but what we finally settled on was not over the top, but was good. Can't say they are the only place, but as many it is very difficult to carry on a conversation and we were with out of town friends we were trying to catch up with. Want to say, though, nice that we were celebrating a birthday and they gave him a dessert.
Overall it was a good experience we had a vegan in our party and the waiter answered questions and took back to chef if he was unsure.
Excellent service and excellent cuisine. I would definitely recommend for future dining.
Everything was great except for the noise level. Always a problem in so many KC restaurants.
Been before and food was great. Not consistent. Ordered barbecue Mac and cheese. Over cooked and zero sauce..,
I love the intriguing menu items including great sides and appetizers, but the unique, handcrafted cocktails at the best!!
My wife got the scallops and I got the duck two ways. Both were amazing! Service was a bit slow, but only a little bit. Otherwise an amazing place for a nice dinner.
Lunch menu is very limited but everything was good
Get the Asian Pig Wings and small salad as a full meal option!
I sat outdoors which was really nice. The fire pit, bushes of flowers and lighting made for great ambiance. I did somehow manage to sit on a seat with something wet in it, which I later found out was some sort of alcohol. I was kind of annoyed with the smell and stain getting on my pants, but the staff checked in with me several times and apologized.
I ordered the not-so-ordinary potato chips as an appetizer. It came with a sauce flight. The combination of sauce flavors each went well with the Parmesan chips, which were clearly fresh and homemade. The rose gold spritzer with prosecco was tasty.
My entree, the catfish, was subpar. While it was perfectly fried to a crisp, it lacked any flavor. It was served with a spicy aioli, that didn’t seem to be spicy at all. The grits were okay. The flavor of the red cabbage and caraway slaw did not fair well together with the filets or grits.
Overall it was a good experience. I’ll definitely go back and be sure to try other entrees.
Definitely one of our favorite restaurants in Kansas City. Top notch servers. The food is great.
This place was such a treat! We wanted to try everything!
Gram and Dunn is always consistently on point. The attention to detail in the kitchen and bar is perfect. It is one of those restaurants you don't mind dropping $100 bucks on. It is one of my favorite restaurants.
