Excellent food and large portions at a reasonable price
We waited over 45 minutes for our food and the food was average. The service was terrible. I have been to the restaurant before and had much better service so I’m being generous this time.
In business 50+ Years shows!
This restaurant was OK. I think the one in Longmont is better, friendlier wait staff. My dish was OK but my husband's pizza was not hot.
Our server, Ian, was very nice and fairly efficient, for our group of eight family members.
He seemed a bit overworked. He had several other tables in the area, and was not as prompt with service as we would have liked. Our niece was very tired after auditioning with the schools of music at DU and CU. I was anxious to get her fed, so she could rest before her flight the next day. The food was good, although the chef was unable to prepare a favorite of mine, which is no longer on the menu. Please consider adding pesto encrusted salmon salad, when the menu is next re-written. It is an old favorite from several of your previous locations. Our family has enjoyed the Gondolier at each of its locations, since it was on Broadway. Our favorite was the 28th and just south of Valmont!
We will visit again. Sue B.
Decor could use an update, but we go there for the food! They stuffed 6 of us in a booth that really should hold 4. Food - awesome and the homemade pasta is awesome!
Have enjoyed Gondolier since on Broadway in the 60's & delighted to have you in Longmont. See you there!
This restaurant is a long time favorite; we've been eating at the Gondolier for about 50 years, and the food and service have remained excellent and consistent. The spaghetti and ravioli are the best in Boulder, and the other Italian specialties are also delicious and interesting. This is a great place to relax, have fun with pals, and enjoy a really good meal. It's one of our favorite Boulder restaurants!
This was my first time there, and I was taking out a friend who had long lived in Boulder before moving away for her birthday. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food, especially the home made spaghetti. I thought the sauce was amazing and much better than anything else I have had around here. Highly impressed, and will definitely be visiting again in the future.
If you going for the spaghetti, which is one my husband's favorites, you won't be disappointed. If you need gluten free options, the options are limited and much less tasty. This time I ordered the gluten free mushroom pizza which was not even edible.
This is where the locals go... Need I say more? This is an authentic Italian restaurant. This is a great place to take a date or the family. Great atmosphere. We have been here multiple times and never had a poor server. Tonight 2e did not enjoy the server but she could have had a bad day. That is the only negative I can say. Great place
A very solid option for classic Italian fare. In a strip mall, but nice inside (and table service; no ordering at a counter or anything). Nicely decorated, clean and modern and casual but still nice enough for a night out. Great for family meals, with a variety of booths and tables, very good service and staff has always been friendly and accommodating. We discovered great happy hour prices on a limited menu of food--including their delicious garlic knots and their homemade spaghetti ($5) and salads. There are also things like all-you-can-eat spaghetti on Tuesday night (I think), so check their website for deals. A large and varied menu sure to satisfy even picky eaters (and kids) in your group--nothing super innovative or gourmet, but very good food and service. The pizza was also good and fresh. I'm reviewing the Boulder location, but there is a new one in Longmont.
I have been there before, and the manager was friendly and food was decent. The other night, was not a pleasant experience at all and probably won't bother going back. I rarely write reviews, even if bad, but the fact that the food was not even decent was terrible. The hostess upon arrival, was not very welcoming, & didn't even appear to hear that I had made a reservation. I understand that all special requests upon reservation can be given, but she sat us in the middle of the room, when there were clearly plenty of tables to the side. The server was decent, but not extra friendly.
Appetizers were good, but it'd be outrageous to mess up garlic bread. I ordered the special shrimp & scallop dinner. For $20, I expected far more than some clearly frozen shrimp & scallops thrown in a pan. No flavor & the risotto ball was absolutely not risotto & tasted like a donut. My companion ordered a calzone, which literally had about 5 pieces of sausage, and very little filling.
We will not be back.
We heart the Gondolier! Excellent, crowd pleasing food. Friendly and professional service.
We always have a great meal at The Gondolier! The homemade pasta is so delicious and so are the garlic knots. We look forward to going back the next time we are in Boulder!
We had a great meal as well as good desserts and wine/cocktails. The server was extremely nice and we enjoyed our birthday celebration.
This restaurant had a great Italian aroma of freshness upon entering the establishment.
The bread knots and dipping sauce along with our salads were good. Unfortunately, the main courses all bombed because their in house freshly made pasta was thick, pasty, and bland ruining all the main courses.
Our drinks arrived first and the cocktails were awesome. The food arrived quickly, piping hot and delicious. The servers were attentive and pleasant. The Gondolier has become the best neighborhood get-together! And how wonderful that they opened another restaurant in Longmont! Way to go! This is the best spaghetti in town.
The gondo is our go to for 30+ years!
Always good traditional Italian.
Homemade pasta, pizza, it’s all good
The Gondolier has been a family favorite since the late 1960s....friendly, good service, an easy place to relax and best of all, they still make the same fabulous spaghetti and marinara sauce with excellent meatballs and sausage....the other "fancier" Italian dishes are also very traditional and time-tested...the lasagna is terrific, and so are the other entrees...but hands down family favorite = the spaghetti or the spaghetti/ravioli mix. Thanks for the continued great food and fun service!
Carnival pizza is the best in Boulder. Salmon is always perfectly cooked. Staff is like family. A true crowd pleaser. We ❤️ The Gondolier.
Dinner was good. Service was fine. We had let the staff know through Open Table that it was a special occasion, but no mention of it. Ambiance is fine, loud space. Disappointed with the Créme Brulée which was cold and small.
Great place to get together with friends have a glass of wine and pizza.
The food is yummy Italian fare and the waiter was very friendly and accommodating to my special requests.
I've always loved the Gondolier - been going since the '70's - never disappoints!
We all enjiyed everything. Our server, Shelby, was wonderful in every way. Patient, remembered everyones add ins, pleasant and courteous. The food was superb! Best Italian I have had in years.
This is a good place. Everything was done well: pizza, beer, service, decor. One of my favourites. Always enjoyable. Recommended.
The Gondolier is consistently delicious no matter what you order. It is one of our favorite restaurants!!
We have been going to the Gondolier for more than 50 years and will continue for many years to come. Our children and grandchildren are carrying on the tradition!
Service was lacking. We had to remind waitress multiple times about our appetizer, which she never brought over. When our meals were served by someone else, we asked about it and he ultimately brought it over after we began main course. They did remove it from our bill.
The food was mediocre at best; overcooked chicken parm, average sauces.
Excellent food and service, I have been going to the gondolier since it was on the hill back in the day.
Our first time in Gondolier. Often strip mall restaurants can be uncertain, but Gondolier was really quite good while being reasonably priced. "American" Italian is often covered in cheese. The two dishes we had both tasted more like real Italian. And if you get a table near the window, you are looking at the mountains. A nice find in Boulder.
Consistently excellent food. Salmon is always perfectly cooked(medium) to my liking. Carnival pizza is the best in town. The pasta is one of a kind...hearty and yummy, especially with the spicy red sauce. LOVE the staff.
This restaurant was unexpectedly excellent and very moderately priced. The homemade pasta was outstanding as were the salads. The variety was also really good and made deciding what to have harder than usual. Our waiter was great and my friend really liked the house wine. I will go back on my next trip to Boulder.
This gem is tucked away in a quiet strip mall but do not let that stop you. The food is so delicious. The menu varied with mostly incredible Italian dishes that are mouth watering. Our service was impeccable. We found the place from the internet but will definitely return the next time we are in Boulder. A wonderful experience and great value!
Gondolier is our go to restaraunt when celebrating a good report card or when the grandparents visit. There's something for everyone and it's family friendly.
Great family place and all of our food was wonderful. We went there with our 4 teenagers to celebrate Father's Day and it was prefect.
The food had no flavor and pasta was doughy and slimy. The garlic knots were obviously frozen because they were cold in the middle. Not worth the hype.
Pasta and eggplant were awesome
Great food - a real find.
