    GG is a great place to meet friends for lunch. Conveniently located between St Pancras and Kings Cross stations it’s a no brainer for friends in other parts of the country. The service and food is excellent and a bonus yesterday was the Oktoberfest vibe.

    The place was buzzing and a lively vibe but staff a bit over run and had to grab their attention for anything. When we did they quickly took our order, or changed our plates and took new drinks orders. Would have been nice not to do this and disrupt our chat at the table. Food is great and high quality German fare.

    We booked for 9:45 pm, and were told we had to hurry because the kitchen was about to close. We took the Grand Café option. Schnitzels are nothing out of the ordinary and overpriced.

    Dear Arnaud, Thank you for your recent visit and for taking the time to leave us your feedback. We accept bookings up to 15min before kitchen close time, which is an average time for our guests to place their food order, I'm sorry if you were made to feel rushed. Schnitzels are one of our best selling dishes and normally get a very positive feedback. We do get quality ingredients, some of them straight from Germany, taking into consideration the location and the building itself- we believe the prices are fair, I am sorry to hear you found it to be pricey. Nevertheless we hope we will have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future, if not for a meal, maybe for a drink in our Meister bar? Warm Regards, Jo & GG team

    Food was all excellent, really enjoyed the duck with cabbage. Central Oktoberfest decor was particularly eye catching. Live oompah band being on the stairs was not invasive. One slight negative was the drinks service was slow and we had to ask twice for each order.

    Big surprise, but a nice one. A brass band were playing at 5.30 last Friday. Lovely, but it was far too loud despite our table being far from close to it. We had to finish our meal on the chilly terrace area.
