Serving Legendary Sunday Roast | We're Dog-Friendly
Proudly situated in the Hampstead Village community, with its quaint alleyways and perfectly preserved Georgian buildings, Gaucho Hampstead is a neighbourhood retreat in North London.
A stone’s throw from Hampstead Heath, our welcoming and contemporary interiors are the perfect place to enjoy a relaxed lunch, an after school treat or you can join us with the whole family on a Sunday for one of our legendary roasts.
One of our favourite features of the restaurant is our stunning, courtyard terrace with a traditional ‘Asado’ fire pit – where we barbeque in the summer and snuggle with blankets in the winter.
For all you Hampstead dog walkers, four-legged friends are always welcome for when you are snout and about.

The annoying thing about the experience was that 2/3 of the way through our meal a large noisy and boisterous family party was seated much too close to us - barely a metre's distance fom our table. It was very poor seating planning and caused us to call for the bill and leave prematurely. We had coffee elsewhere.
Delicious food. Very attentive service. Lovely cocktails
The service from I walked through the door right up till the end was amazing! Our waiter Victoria was so lovely! Checked on us constantly and made sure we had everything we needed. We had a delay with our food but her service made up for it!
I don’t like the fact that pets are allowed in the restaurant. There was a dog sitting right next to me and a big dog directly opposite me, made me feel quite uncomfortable and I’m also allergic.
The empanadas which is an appetiser was probably the best item on the menu. I didn’t enjoy much of the other food aside from the chips which I ordered two servings of. I’m not a steak eater so I tried the other dishes. The gnocchi is ok but made me feel a little sick and some of the additional components were a bit salty. The lobster was also not to my liking. I should have tried the dessert as the options sounded quite enticing!
Despite the food, it was an overall good experience. If you enjoy beef/steak, you’d most likely love it here!
Great service and delicious Sunday roast and steak salad
Had an amazing roast! The staff our wonderful and very accommodating! Such good value and so much food! Loved it!
Victoria was outstanding, great knowledge of wine. Everyone was so nice the minute we walked in. Felt like home felt very welcome. The steak was cooked with perfection. This is definitely the best Gauchos and we’ve been to all of them in London.
Lovely meal to celebrate NYE!
Customer service was excellent. Waitress was Lovely and very helpful and accommodating. If seated opposite the kitchen can get quite hot and lots of traffic passing. The food was to be expected for Guochos however not much choice for starters and wasn’t keen on what we chose. Would definitely go back and recommend to family and friends
Food, wine, service were all great. But we were seated next to the toilets which wasn't great!
We had a lovely evening. We went for my daughters birthday. Very good setting. Nice decor, food was very good. Service was good. Side dishes a little pricey and small portions. Steak was just great though. A good night out once in a while for special occassion.
Gaucho never fails to provide incredible food and such kind, attentive service. We had our 4 month old with us, and we never felt rushed, and were given plenty of time to settle her before ordering, and given the perfect quiet table for her to nap in the pram. This is why we always choose Gaucho to celebrate our special occasions, it always feels amazing!
At first it wasn’t great and I was planning on leaving as I didn’t particularly like the service but Chris came over and showed initiative, I didn’t see that at 45 Jermyn street hence why I don’t dine there anymore. Overall although I was still not happy, there’s no way I can fault the effort that was made second time around. I will continue to dine at this restaurant because they do everything to make me feel welcomed. Especially the service of Matilda and Chris.
This is an excellent branch of Gaucho, and we had a new member of staff serving us today (Federico) who was EXCELLENT. Always there when you needed him, never interrupting you, wonderful knowledge about all the menus.
What a superb dinner we had at Gaucho Hampstead. The meal itself was sublime. The wines, to complement, were lovely. The atmosphere was lively. But what made the evening was the top drawer service, with professionalism and welcoming warmth, in equal measure. We highly recommend!
The server was fantastic and very helpful. However, the steak (Ribeye) was well cooked and tender but was let down by the spinach ( over salted) and the mash potatoes which probably was machine blended resulting in it becoming gruesome rather than fluffy had it been extruded though a hand ricer.
By far the best service we have ever had in an gaucho, our waiter couldn’t do enough for us, was very chatty and very polite.
Food was amazing as always, we usually go to the 02 one but I think we will come to the hampsted one from now on
Great venue, friendly staff and wonderful food. Hampstead is my go to Gaucho from now on, sorry Piccadilly.
The service was excellent but the food was tasteless. One of the worst steaks I’ve ever had. Had to send back the first steak as it was over cooked and the next steak was just bland and unsalted. Chips were ok but slightly over cooked and too brown.
Sunday lunch was poor for the price, lacked flavour which you would expect from this restaurant. Vegetables were basically boiled and gravy was as basic as could be. Also charged £5 for a bread basket (4 pieces of small bread) when asked if we wanted it complimentary..? Save your money and go to a pub lunch instead!
Our main complaint was our steak and chips were brought to our table and side dishes came 10 minutes later. Such a shame it was going so well. We couldn’t understand what the waiter was saying to us but that could of been because he was wearing a mask.
We went there for my son's 16th birthday. We were really impressed by all staff's service, especially Daniela. She made my son's birthday brilliant, special and memorial.
Excellent attentive service . A perfectly cooked and lovely meal .
Great food and Service from the lovely Daniella!
We went for our wedding Anniversary and it was such a wonderful evening. The staff were amazing so attentive and helpful, the ambience of the restaurant was thriving. The Food was the finest quality of meat it just melted in your mouth. Wonderful experience would 100% be returning.
Incredible evening at Gaucho. Phenomenal steak and incredible sides & starters (the empanadas are insane!) I love it every time!
Wonderful experience, superb food paired with wine well as per the staff suggestion. Friendly and polite staff. Would defo go again.
I don't mine splashing cash on dinner for occasions, but I also expect quality. The chips was average, and so was the burger, and the rib-eye was above average at best. We don Gaucho 3-4 times a year, and this was way below their standard. The service however was awesome :)
We had a lovely time. The Ribeye was so soft (it could have been closer to the medium I wanted, but it tasted great). The Malbec was fruity, smooth and supple. Our server was just right -he was ever so helpful. It is always a great experience when dining out at a Gauchos.
Kids menu is great, they loved the treat. Keep it simple, you won’t be disappointed
Service was terribly slow, appreciate it was busy on the weekend but still too slow.
Bottomless roast the beef was lovely but lamb was very dry and tough.
Excellent food. Cocktails spot on .
As usual if you want a good steak dinner then this is the place to go to. Not cheap but for a one off it's worth it.
I absolutely adore Gaucho’s and feel sad leaving this review. We had cold, hard, over cooked fries. My steak was super oily and even fatty, It didn’t have the flavour it usually does. My friends swordfish was over cooked. We didn’t want to complain at the time due to taking out a friend. It seemed like maybe our food was left for a while before serving. None of it tasted fresh.
The service was exceptional as always but extremely disappointed by the food and will probably avoid going for lunch there in future
Seated near entrance, near noisy uncontrolled children. Tried to take food order before we even saw wine list. The starter was tiny and very disappointing and came well before the bread. Then waiter tried to serve our steaks while we were still eating our starter. Wine very expensive
Amazing food as usual and excellent service provided by our waitress Sinziana.
We were the only people in there
Food is amazing. Good service although difficult to gain staff attention. dealt with allergies well. had to sweep dirt off my seat but otherwise very clean good temperature although cold air when door to outside was opened. Cost a lot of money but maybe thats just what you pay for great food in London
Service slow and intense then absent. Staff preoccupied with setting up for dinner. Music awful and loud. Food good. Had better filet. Burgers excellent. Cookie dough amazing.
The new staff member serving us was very friendly and professional. The food was sublime and came ever so quickly. Everything was perfect for myself and my girlfriend. The only slight criticism would be the design of the seating outside. It isnt the most practical or comfortable.
Great first experience of Gaucho, our host Daniela delivered great service and recommendations. We selected the FT Weekend sample menu which left us wanting more (for another visit), the ceviche, scallops and lomo fillet were incredible topped off with alfajores parfait for dessert. I’d highly recommended for special occasions as Daniela surprised us with some “happy anniversary” chocolates with compliments of the house.
