Proudly situated in the Hampstead Village community, with its quaint alleyways and perfectly preserved Georgian buildings, Gaucho Hampstead is a neighbourhood retreat in North London.

A stone’s throw from Hampstead Heath, our welcoming and contemporary interiors are the perfect place to enjoy a relaxed lunch, an after school treat or you can join us with the whole family on a Sunday for one of our legendary roasts.

One of our favourite features of the restaurant is our stunning, courtyard terrace with a traditional ‘Asado’ fire pit – where we barbeque in the summer and snuggle with blankets in the winter.

For all you Hampstead dog walkers, four-legged friends are always welcome for when you are snout and about.

    Went for the bottomless Sunday roast and it did not disappoint, the beef was melt in your mouth good, the yorkshire puddings were nice and crispy, all nicely topped off with runner beans and carrots and bone marrow. If I'm being picky the roast potatoes were a bit hard and could have been crispier.

    Steak was very disappointing in terms of flavour and how it was cooked. Waiter was rushed off his feet and wasn’t attentive - and even apologised when he delivered the bill. No ambience in a long corridor like restaurant. What an absolute disgrace. Last time I will ever go to Gaucho. Save your money and go to Hawksmoor if you want a proper steak!

    We had a wonderful evening celebrating my husband's birthday. The atmosphere was lively and fun. The service was attentive and the food was well prepared and nicely plated. Everything was delivious. The evening was expensive but worth it for the quality. It was a nice touch to be brought a birthday dessert with a lit candle. The only slight disappointment was the fact the chips were slightly too cold for our liking. Ideally they should have been piping hot and very crisp

    We dined at Gaucho for my friend's birthday and had a fantastic experience. The service was outstanding thanks to the fantastic waiter (I believe his name is Michael) who was very attentive and accommodating. All food courses were delicious and so were the drinks we had. We were the last ones to leave the restaurant, which can be quite annoying for the closing team, but despite this, the staff was still very kind and patient (thank you!). We would definitely recommend it and will 100% be back.

    Lovely meal, we went for the burgers, which are fantastic! Great value for money, as it can get pricey in Gaucho. We were very happy with all elements of our meal!

    A steak restaurant that serves steak tartare and will cook a steak rare but insists in serving a hamburger only well done is not worth the time or the money.

    Really nice food, staff was kind, the restaurant is very clean. Very nice touch to have a little dessert as we were celebrating birthdays. The small is very small for 2 people to place mains, drinks and side dishes, not much flexibility in where you would like to sit.

    Booked a table for my daughters 14th birthday, her and her friends thoroughly enjoyed it. The table was fantastic and the service from our waitress ( Daniella) was superb. Her knowledge of food and wines were spot on. An absolutely fantastic dining experience. Gaucho Hampstead never fails in my book.

    Food great as ever however some serious issues with wine supply and stock levels. Three choices of wine not available and 4th choice not cold because it had been delivered but not put in the fridge!! Also sadly the service became less attentive as the evening went on.

    As always it's a pleasure to visit a Gaucho! I have not been to the Hampstead restaurant for some time and great to see nothing has changed. As always the Gaucho Team were friendly, helpful and respectful. The food was excellent and I appreciate the table given to me, as my guest was disabled.

    The Food Was good , My steak was lean with a good taste but my daughter's one was chewy, the sides were nothing special, the Cocktails were good but a bit expensive , the service was very good with no delays on orders, But the prices were higher compare to many same level restaurants and the neighborhood, for trying it was good, but not again cause of a bit pricy with a good quality not an extreme one.

    My husband and I had lunch on Friday 11 August 2023 after shopping in Hampstead. We were welcomed cheerfully by the host and offered a choice of table inside or on the covered outside patio. We went for the patio which was pleasant. We had cocktails then the 3 course set lunch menu which was good value. We really enjoyed the food - tuna/heritage tomatoes; steak/burger/excellent skin on fries; chocolate volcano pudding. Yum. Our waiter was charming and knowledgeable about the food and wine offerings. He helped us choose a white Malbec which was dry and a more more interesting choice than the usual suspects! The downside was the lack of people and atmosphere. There were 3 tables including ours taken in the patio and a couple inside so it was extremely quiet. We were told it was much busier at weekends so if you do go, I’d recommend a busier time as it is a large restaurant and needs to be full to generate some atmosphere.

    Service was lovely and friendly. Desserts were disappointing though. Had similar dessert options at Gaucho leeds a week ago and they were fresh and served at a perfect temperature whereas at Gaucho Hampstead desserts felt stale or straight out of freezer. Our caramelised banana pancakes were cold (bananas were definitely raw and not caramelized) and the crepe was very cold. The lemon tart base was soggy and had no texture. Crust of tart was very soft and tasted stale. Chateaubriand was great as were the empanadas . However compared to leeds where ordering a chataubriand comes with a choice of sauce and chips this was not the case at Hampstead.

    Gaucho Hampstead truly never disappoints. Quite the opposite actually, they manage to exceed the expectations on every visit, and somehow surprise us every time. Looking forward to my next visit.
