Wonderful atmosphere and setting, but the food was just ok for the price
Second time eating here after golf! Everything was great..
The view is the attraction. The food preparation choices just are not our preference. We are basic grilled or baked fish and mashed potatoes type. Exotic preparations and funky vegetable pairings are a turn off. Wine selections in the reasonable price range are limited. They do not have any menu online to assess in advance if the food preparations are of interest before making a reservation.
The food was very unique and expensive. My fish was the fresh catch of the day but tasted fishy. Otherwise the drinks and sides were great.
We celebrated our 20th anniversary. We were greeted right away. Had an exceptional view. Every dish was done to perfection. Highly recommend.
We scheduled our luncheon here for our group after we held a Celebration of Life for a dear departed family member. We did a paddle out at a local canoe club, wrote names in the sand at her happy place in Kihei, and watched the flower leis drift away into the sea in the morning. I must say that this was the perfect way to end the ceremony. I informed the staff at Gannon's of our special event during booking. When we arrived we were happy to find out that they seated our group away from the other patrons and we had the most spectacular view of the ocean. Our servers were happy to accommodate us with taking group pictures and they were able to accommodate our Celiac patient. The food was so delicious, the atmosphere so inviting and the seating space so quiet and cozy that we ended up telling fond stories and memories our loved one until it was time to go. What a beautiful day for such a somber event. The staff at Gannon's should be able to accommodate your every need because they did an outstanding job with ours. Thanks ladies and gentlemen.
Sat on the patio which at Sunset gets a little toasty but once the sun sets you have an awesome view of Molokini and Kaho’olawe. The view enjoyed with a Mai Tai, wonderful!
We were disappointed with the food. Strange flavors (and I like unique flavors, but these didn't quite work), though fish was super fresh. Didn't get the type of table we wanted, and were forced into one choice without even an offer to wait. Rude hostess.
This is such a wonderful location. The music from the wedding was a bit distracting for guests of the restaurant on this Friday night. Food was good and well prepared but not on par with other restaurants of this caliber. Service was good.
Gannon's was advertised as the best sunset restaurant on Maui but the view was quite uninspiring. I had booked for a wedding anniversary and while I understand that not everyone can have the best table in the house, we were seated at the very back of the balcony. We could look through the pillars at the sunset, but there was also a large fence and an untrimmed hedge that almost completely obscured the view.
Great spot for both lunch and dinner and most importantly the Mai Tais are the absolute best in Maui, hands down!
We happened upon Gannon's when searching for a special place with great food and views to celebrate my birthday. I suggest arriving at/around 6:30pm, which is the ideal time to get settled into their outdoor seating area before sunset. This is the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine and watch the sunset - the views were amazing. The food at Gannon's was probably the best we had during our entire trip - I highly recommend the Lamo Osso Bucco and Bev's Crab Dip. Gannon's exceeded our expectations, and we will definitely dine there again the next time we are in Maui!
Never disappoints.always one of our favorites when we come to Maui/Wailea
Great staff and great food. Right on the golf course and beach. Pleasurable experience.
Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. Attentive and knowledgeable staff and waiter. Suggestions were impeccable!
Great dinner, great service and great view. Only negative was the dessert and maybe the price. Other than that really love this place.
Great food, Beautiful view and Wonderful service by our server Jules 😉, highly recommend 😁
Thank you for the complimentary birthday cake for my wife's birthday!
Gannon's never disappoints. The view still takes my breath away and even if it's very hot around town, the patio always feels delightful. This was a lunch visit. Husband and I shared a Tiger Shrimp Cocktail, loved those giant tasty shrimp. Hubby had the Cashew Crusted Catch which was Hamachi - the breading is nice and crispy and the fish was great. I had my go-to of Island Fresh Tacos, which also featured the Hamachi. Service as usual was attentive and friendly. This restaurant just makes me feel good.
Great food with an awesome view!
Great views and a great meal! Gannon's was a beautiful location and the food was great. We stuck with seafood, but there were plenty of non-seafood choices. We dined outside at sunset, and it was pretty special.
Justin was so great with our kiddos! That always makes the dining experience better for us, because we all know kids tend to be a little unpredictable. Thanks, Justin!
Unsurpassed view anywhere in Maui! Great food and service. Gannon’s is a regular stop on our visits to Maui.
I had gone Ruth's Chris in March in Wailea and felt that Gannons was much better service and atmosphere. I would highly recommend this restaurant
My new favorite restaurant! Better view, service, food, and ambience than many other legendary restaurants on the island.
The seafood salad was delicious be of the best things I have eaten at Ganon’s. They keep coming up with great dishes!
The view at sunset can't be beat. The food was bland and mediocre at best. The waitstaff was not engaging. We ended up barely eating and left the rest. A total waste of money for our special occassion.
We’re on our honeymoon and Gannon’s lives up to its reputation. The food was unbelievable. The views were amazing. The only thing not perfect was the service. Everyone was incredibly polite including our server. But he was on “island time” a little too much. It took a too long to get things from him. I would advise anyone in the area give Gannon’s a try.
The food was OUTSTANDING! We had Lamb Osso Bucco and it just melted in your mouth. The salad and desert were equally as good. Our waiter, Cody, treated us as if we were a king and queen. Phenomenal experience!!
The food was sooooo good! Everyone was so nice. Our server Justin was awesome! very helpful on helping us decide. Food was so creative and yummy! Gave my bf a surprise birthday dessert. Definitely coming back.
Poor service and overall disappointment. We are Chef Gannon fans and this was not a good dining experience - from being ignored upon arrival, to seated at a terrible seat on our anniversary, to poor quality of food. Am sure this does not live up to Chef’s intentions. Will not return.
The overall experience, especially the food, was quite enjoyable. However, there was a wedding reception on the lower patio at the same time we were having dinner. Even though the restaurant was only about half full, service was extremely slow. We did not even get seated for nearly half an hour after our reservation. The poor service did not affect our dinner, because it was a catch-up with friends we had not seen for a while, but if we had just gone there for a good meal, we would have been quite disappointed.
Poor food. Poorly prepared and presented. HUGE plates. Very load band playing 70s oldies and not well.
I mistakenly reviewed Wailea Hotel for this restaurant. Wailea Hotel was exquisite. This was not.
We went for the amazing ribs.
The music was great
Loved the duck salad!
This was our second time at Gannon's and both times the whole experience was excellent. They acknowledged that it was our anniversary and the staff signed a card for us, plus we enjoyed a complementary dessert. I had the cashew crusted catch and my wife the seared scallops. We split the kalua pig spring rolls as the appetizer and a bottle of chardonnay. Prices are similar to any good restaurant in the islands or in the SF Bay Area. We will return every trip to Maui.
Food and service were fantastic. They went out of their way to make our anniversary dinner special.
This was our second year in a row for Mother's Day brunch at Gannon's, and they managed to improve on an already great experience! Lots of tasty choices, nice presentation, and service was excellent. Add the amazing view from the patio seating area, and it was the perfect meal. I will add that Gannon's was an outstanding value for Mother's Day brunch in South Maui. See you again soon, Gannon's!
We had fabulous staff greet us, serve us and check in on us. They were just wonderful. Our table had a fantastic view and we enjoyed a lovely buffet for Mother’s Day.
The food was delicious and the bar service was excellent. Our waiter struggled a bit sloshing wine. The ambiance we were enjoying was ruined when a table of 12 men were dated flaky behind us. They were very loud and evidently Joe Gannon the owner joined them. So I guess our dinner isn’t that important. A solution might have nbeennto sat this group in a private room or away from other diners.
