About Galvin at Windows

Located high up on the 28th floor of the London Hilton at 22 Park Lane, Galvin at Windows restaurant and bar has become one of the capital’s most talked-about destination dining venues since its opening in 2006. Head Chef Joo Won and Chef Patron Chris Galvin have created seasonally inspired menus based around modern French haute cuisine that have now earned the restaurant its first, much-deserved Michelin Star. Renowned for its peerless views over the capital, including iconic sites like Hyde Park and Buckingham Palace, Galvin at Windows is a restaurant where honest food and genuine hospitality are already a tradition after just a few short years. Because of the elegance of the room and the jaw-dropping 360-degree views, Galvin at Windows is certainly a destination restaurant with fine service and all the trimmings. But, clever Galvin staff, the set lunch menu and bar express menu bring this sublime French cuisine within reach.

The Sunday 3 course deal represents good value for th8s venue. Of course sides and wine will rocket your bill skyward. What really shows is the service.. which matches the price of your meal. The front of house are professional and attentive. They made a birthday meal extra special.

We went there after our theatre show as a dinner date. Restaurant at high floors of the Hilton hotel gave us a chance to see London from a top view. The whole experience is wonderful. The food is delicious. The relaxed ambience and great services gave us an enjoyable night. They even gave us postcards for us to write and they posted that out for us.
Great recommendation for dates for sure.

What a treat! I booked this for a meeting of three old friends meeting after some time. The food was gorgeous and beautifully presented in a beautiful environment with fantastic service. What more could you ask for? Oh, the views. It was a clear day - so the 'windows' on London were extraordinary. A profoundly good dining experience.

We visited Galvin for my daughter’s 16th birthday and it was an amazing experience.

Every mouthful of food was simply incredible and all members of staff were so helpful and attentive throughout the meal. They gave great recommendations and to top it off we had a quick tour of the kitchen and showed us the wonderful balcony views of Hyde Park.

Such a special occasion made even more special by the staff.

We visited Galvin at Windows at lunch time on my husband’s birthday, as we had somewhere else to go to in the afternoon. We were seated at a great window table which allowed us to look at the Palace and the lovely landscape around and beyond. The service was amazing, the staff were tentative but also allowed us plenty of space and comfort. And we were so pleasantly surprised when a little birthday cake was thoughtfully served at the end! Of course the food was delicious - the chefs truly deserved their great reputation. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and husband said it was the highlight of his day. Will definitely recommend the restaurant to our friends and most definitely come back again ourselves. Thank you all for a lovely experience.

Booked with open table offer £85, but decided on the day to enjoy my little time off that I had before very busy start of the year for me and my businesses, and chose to go for the tasting menu with champagne and caviar.
They did a huge massive mistake for such a good establiahment that referenced from people that I know.
Champagne was served and then I waited long for the next course, which was the beetroot, and was told to finish my champagne first. OK I thought that maybe there will be a suprise, but the beetroot was served and no trace of the caviar that I expected to combine with the champagne.
Instead the lady moved on like nothing happened and the pork was next. I kindly pointed out the caviar and champagne written on the menu, and she said "oops maybe I did a mistake, we are still on fish so I will organise it for you" when the pork was next.
I do not know who missed that out, but looked funny, unprofessional, intentional and seemed to be like she expected to move on and hoping that I will never notice.
I asked for a manager and stopped the tasting as I said I don't know what to expect as we move on. Maybe they were about to skip whole main course dish hoping that I will never ever notice.
If this is the way you do business and sales, I am sorry to say but Hilton hotel and this restaurant proved that they have too many things to handle.
Not a good start for your second award ambitions. Hope you really see what I mean from a guest point of view. Maybe suggest you do the Guest Path once on a while.
Hilton once again proved that it can be very very disappointing.
Right after went to Dorchester next door. Cannot compare style with something just popped out.

Superb location, sublime food and simply incredible service. The food is not only delicious but of an exceptionally high quality as would be expected of a Michelin starred restaurant. The service is subtle but wonderful with incredible attention to detail. The views from the restaurant which is on the 28th floor are spectacular. We will be returning and highly recommend this restaurant.

Pre-theatre set menu was a little bland, lacked imagination and did not have many options. Decor outdated but you can’t beat the view. Annoyed we were told we could not bring our water glasses over from the bar to the restaurant and that we’d have to either drink them there or buy another bottle of water in the restaurant.

Good lunch, table was ready on time, however we been seated next to waiter station which was looking like dumping table, so we did started our lunch with view for stack of dirty plates landing next to us from the whole dining during busy service, rather than enjoying the view. Waiter was polite but seems be in rush, upselling hard rather than listening what we ask for, we been presented with incorrect bill which 15% of service charge been applied.

We had an excellent meal and the service was impeccable. My only complaint was that I had booked nearly four weeks in advance and asked for a table by the window (which was why we had chosen this restaurant) and when we arrived we were told that there were no tables by the window. Staff were apologetic but we were somewhat disappointed.

At best ordinary. Food is less than impressive. Presentation is totally missing. It is more like a factory production. When one cooks from the heart, it shows. In my humble opinion, it is overrated.

This restaurant has a great view and the service is good, although at the times overbearing as the conversation is constantly interrupted. The food unfortunately is not worth the price. It is tasty but the portions are insultingly small and I had to order a pizza after to satisfy my appetite. I was told the 3 course meal had bigger portions, but they were absolutely tiny. The view is great, but a restaurant should not be able to cut corners because of the outside view. It's a bonus.

What a lovely place for dinner - staff and ambience delightful, food excellent but very pricey for what it is. Glad I went, and no complaints, but I wouldn't go back. Galvin La Chapelle, which we love, is as wonderful but much less expensive, so for us Windows was poor value for money.

I wanted a restaurant with a view for our pre-Christmas treat - and we were sat right by the window with excellent views over London. Perfect treat for late teenage kids and myself for Christmas. Wonderful flavours in complex beautifully prepared dishes accompanied by well paired wines thanks to the sommelier. My son felt portions on the small side to start with but because of the richness of the food he agreed it was perfect by the end. We were out within 2 hours - food came promptly. It was a very expensive treat. I hope the restaurant does share the service charge of 15% with the staff fully (added almost£50 to our meal for 3) so felt to add more totally over the top - for a 15% service charge expect good quality service and left an uneasy feeling/bad end with staff hinting we could leave a further cash tip.

I had an amazing time but it seemed a few servers looked down on the food runners with the trays which didn’t want me to leave a tip or service charge. I over heard one server with short black hair (shaved underneath) call a food runner and an older colleague stupid as he got a table wrong. I was immediately turned off by this. The food was amazing, compliments to the chef but the servers need to be taught that everyone is equal. This also happened in the bar a blonde woman rolled her eyes at a young food runner also when he didn’t know where our tea was going.

The view and the general ambiance were excellent and the table we had was discreetly distant from other tables.

I booked a table at Galvin at windows for my Husbands Christmas present on the recommendation of a friend and couldn't be happier with the food, service, and atmosphere. While I admit I'm not sure I could afford to eat here regularly a special occasion certainly warrants a visit. I would say it is the best food I have ever eaten in a restaurant and my Husband was certainly blown away by his main meal. The view is also spectacular and we were lucky enough for a clear night and a view of the Winter Wonderland.

This is never ever a Michelin Star Restaurant. The food quality is poor, uninspired, lacks creativity and is way overpriced. Whilst some details were good (the venison for example) the experience as a whole is very disappointing and isn’t worth the price.

The desert in particular, which was praised as “absolutely the best” by the staff was worse than anything you can buy at Waitrose. Ugly ice cream on a stick and clotted cream with caramel - in a Michelin Star Restaurant???

The Restaurant itself is a bit run down, too, and the service is attentive but lacks professionalism. If you want to spend a lot of money for far below average food - that’s the place to go.
