   Waiter took too long to bring us the condiments for our ice tea and then ten minutes later to add to your tea so you sat not being able to drink.

   The food has changed my shrimp and grits was inedible and even the manager did not recognize the dish. My husband’s pasta resembled canned pasta.

   Saw our waitress when she took our order and when she came back to tell us they did not have the all you could eat shrimp special even though it was Monday. Should have left then. We stayed. Food came but my wine had not. Had to ask for it. While we were eating 3 flies joined us. Told the manager when he came by. His reply was all Galveston restaurants had flies. Yes we were at the Hotel Galvez. Table down from us had a gentleman sitting there. His waitress came to his table 6 times. I counted while we were there. We had to flag our waitress down for our check. Have eaten here twice before with good service. If they were busy I might understand but they were not

   I had a good dining experience for my birthday. The waiter was very nice and attentive. The drink was made very well. The bacon wrapped shrimp stuffed with cheese would have been so much better if the inside wasn’t so soft. The soggy bacon threw it off for me. The crab cakes were a delight and beautifully decorated. The presentation for the stuffed redfish was lacking, but the flavors were perfect. My fish was cooked perfectly and my veggies had the perfect crunch. The shrimp and grits had a good smoky sauce but the grits themselves were very thick for me, I like a creamy finish to my grits. The chocolate mode cake was excellent; very creamy and light. The decor is nice and clean, very elegant milieu. Thank you.

   It wasn’t exactly what we expected. The food was not bad, but not really in line with the price. The drinks were good. The service was pretty good, but it felt more like you were at a chain restaurant. It was pretty loud. A lot of families with small children in an open air space...please give the baby the pacifier back. The hotel is lovely and not sure what the rooms are like since we were staying somewhere else, but the restaurant seemed to want to be a fairly upscale experience that just wasn’t.

   Sparkling water and coke were flat. Waitstaff was new and struggled with the menu. Food wasn’t really as the waiter described. He was new like a lot of the staff who are coming back after COVID!

   By far some of the best crab cakes I have ever eaten. My brother in law who is pessimistic on crab cakes was even surprised, and wanted to say great job! Good and service was amazing. The ambience is a 1920-1930 feel with large windows, and very lively crowd. I was impressed and cannot wait to eat there again with my family.
