Please join us for our awarded "Best Bloody Mary Bar" by Westword 4 years running. Also a great Italian style brunch with 6 different flavors of Bottomless Mimosas.
As usual, the food was amazing. Our waiter was having a hard time. John didn't tell us about any specials. Maybe our table was too small. Forget 2/3 of the entree order and didn't place it with the kitchen. Bread "that was coming out of the oven", eventually showed up cold.
We don't know what was up that evening, but the service was sub par.
So amazing! The service and food can't be beat.
We always enjoy Gaetano's and have been going there since before it changed hands. We like the old, quieter neighborhood atmosphere better, but the food is still excellent. Our service this time wasn't great. We never got more water nor parmesan cheese topping. Also, apparently now you have to ask for bread. We didn't know that because our server never offered the choice. But the food is really great, so just tell your server, "Hey, don't forget to check on us!"
The sauce on the mussels is worth $4 to take home, trust me.
I hope this restaurant never goes away! It is always fun to be here, and everyone is very accommodating!
Great food and great service, noisy 15 top near us but besides that all was great
Good Italian food! My son loved the Alfredo. Was a very hot day in Denver and hot in restaurant. Loud from party next to us. Overall good experience.
God awful! The waiter did not seem interested in serving us, our entrees were terrible (we ate one bite and declined the rest), and we were still charged for the meals!! Wtf! Never again, we should have gone to Panzano’s like we normally do.
The place was packed on a Sunday evening at 7:00 and we're glad we had reservations. Seating is close, except on the patio, which I would recommend the next time we eat there. Service was excellent, prompt but not overbearing; our water bottle was refilled without us having to ask.
We had the Lobster Ravioli and the Chicken Picatta. The chicken wasn't as tender as I would have prepared it; it didn't appear to have been pounded. We also shared a Wedge salad and Flourless Chocolate Cake, which were excellent.
The food and the service were both very good. Our table was ready when we got there and they even gave us the table I requested when I made the reservation.
Best Italian we've had in a very long time. Everything we ordered was amazing. We will definitely be coming back soon.
Have been a long time fan of Gaetano's - and in large have enjoyed the experience.
Two most recent events dining experiences have left us disappointed.
There seems to be alot of staff turnover, so perhaps that explains it, but recently, the quality has diminished. Examples - Chicken Marsala delivered 'dry', as in only a tablespoon of sauce, and the side of (upgraded) mushroom risotto was also dry - after asking for a redo, they said too busy but could offer 'extra sauce', although that took 20 minutes to produce, and I was already done with what I did choose to eat.
Last event (July 9 for my daugther's 18th birthday party) - ordered Chicken Picatta with a substitute of Parmesan Potatoes over the menu based pasta. The Picatta and Potatoes were not plated together - served separately - the Picatta (again) had minimal sauce (two tablespoons) for a two breast portion and the Parma Potatoes were undercooked and underspiced.
Casual observation indicates a number of new staff. Perhaps some training on the "Gaetano's Way" would be helpful to ensure the Restaraunt upholds its reputation for quality Italian food.
P.S. Positive experience - my wife loved the new 'stuffed shells' dish
If you're looking for classic east coast Italian dishes, this is THE place. Portions are generous but, not overwhelming. Sooooo many clams in the Classic Clams Aglio & Olio....perfecto!
Excellent food, stellar service with David. Our go-to occasion spot.
Great restaurant with great food that is affordable.
It was very hot inside the restaurant, but the service and food were great!
One of our favorite restaurants. Good Italian food. Great service. A neighborhood gem!
Food was fabulous and our waiter Logan was wonderful. Made for a memorable birthday! From a visitor from Tx and Italian, this place is highly recommend by me!
Great Food and great service provided by Aaron!!! We'll be back!
It was quite loud but the food and service was amazing
Great food - very easy coast traditional Italian!
This was once my go neighborhood Italian restaurant and the first place I ever ate it in Denver. This is still a good place, but they’ve shortened the menu and taken off some of my favorite items. The items remaining are more pedestrian. It’s more crowded than it used to be, but not sure why. Overall, the place has and is changing, but not seemingly for the better.
They were over burdened b/y an unexpected large party seating so the dining room was much louder than usual and the service slower than usual.
5:30 reservation for a birthday and this was noted in the reservation for special occasion. 6:30 got up to use restroom to come back and find my table cleaned. Luckily women in adjoining table put my sweater on the back of the chair for me to pick up when i had intentionally left it on the booth seat as i was coming back to complete my birthday celebration. Needless to say that didn't happen! Not worth $40 for my hour there; over $80 for two of us. Came home to have my birthday wine! Btw open table said they allow 1.5 hrs for a table of two. Well that wasnt the case for us. Ps. Had been wanting to get back there for years. Wasnt worth it! Note to self.
Great food!!! Service was slow but worth the wait!!
Gaetano's is always the best place to go with family and friends... Great Food and excellent service!
Very mediocre food and service. Not much atmosphere. Overpriced for the fare.
Truly amazing, authentic Italian food! Great service and ambiance.
Good classic Italian dishes! Our server was great and the place had a great vibe.
Loves Katie!! She was great!! Loved the food and most of all the ambiance of the restaurant!!! The history was cool too. So glad we stumbled upon this lovely place.
Food exceeded expectations and although it was crowded our table was ready at the exact time selected through Open Table.
The staff was ingaging and friendly. The food was fabulous and the history of the restaurant was an added attraction.
We had an excellent meal and table. The server didn't bring bread until we asked for it, then he did bring bread, but didn't bring any oil until we asked again. He also did not ever re-fill water. SO SUPER food and atmosphere, but service slightly lacking- over busy lunch hour
One of the oldest restaurants in Denver. Italian food. David was a great waiter. And, they have a great happy hour!
That place was hoppin'! Our food was delicious, the service was a little slow because they were so busy but with girlfriends enjoying one another's company we didn't mind it.
The food was good but they don’t have any air conditioning. It was over 80 degrees in there!
The bread part of the appetizer was raw; Caesar salad took *very* long time to arrive and the dressing was not well stirred in (in clumps); one entree was not what was ordered but ate it anyway because I just wanted to get the hell out of there ASAP.
Definitely the best Italian food we’ve had in Denver, and awesome drinks too. We’ll definitely be back!
We enjoyed our lunch at Gaetano's. Good food, friendly service, parking available. We weren't rushed to clear the table for other customers. The history of the place is very interesting.
Best Italian. Period.
