Excellent first time experience. Menu is impressive. Food quality was great. Only marginal experience was our waiter would disappear on us at a time leaving us waiting to order, etc …. I still would highly recommend the restaurant

Big disappointment. The food is very generic and “line” cooking style. My soup was microwaved and our dishes were sub standard to their posting of “traditional old style” Mexican cuisine. No depth or flavors. Just flat tasting with lots of melted queso. Bad name for “Mexican cuisine” and bad for my cholesterol.

The wait staff was friendly but unfortunately a bit busy and didn’t come to check and the food was very underwhelming, blended, and one dish was Luke warm. They were nice enough to take one dish off but was disappointed.

Food was excellent. We had the ribs and beef chimichanga. Friends had the pork and loved it! Fresh guac at the table was amazing. Service was very fast. Waiter was kind but felt rushed. I prefer a bit more attention (we would have had more margarita or dessert). Would definitely recommend for food.

Probably the BEST guacamole we’ve ever had. Nice ambience and good food. But our server, Bryan, was completely disinterested in giving us good service. We had to wait awhile between appetizer and main course and to request water refills from other servers. Sadly though the food is good, the margaritas were pretty watery. This place came highly recommended so maybe we just hit it on an off night.

After hearing this restaurant was Zagat rated, I expected the best food ever. I lived in Arizona for over 10 years and I have high expectations about Mexican food. Given that info, this restaurant was just ok. Queso and guacamole were bland. Same for fajitas 🙁 Nice and attentive waiter. Lots of available seating. Large parking lot.

Gabriel's meet my needs. Promptly seated. Service was friendly. Had the quest for starters. Nice change from the always good Guacamole made at the table. The chicken mole enchiladas were good. The Plato de Carnitas were better with an overly large portion. Always need additional handmade corn tortillas and then take the remains home for another meal. No room for dessert. Very good all around.

I had read a couple of reviews on Gabriel's mentioning the noise level being high inside, the restaurant was nearly full while we were there and the noise level seemed normal to us so don't let that deter you. The food and service were both top notch.

We did not have a great experience. The food was good, but came to the table cold or lukewarm. Carne adovada sauce had a thick top layer that was cold. I wanted to ask for a glass of water and a drink, but never got the chance. My mom tried stopping 5 servers to ask for a straw, and when we finally got one’s attention he chastised me. My sister sent her wine glass back because it was dirty and gritty, the server brought another and turned around when he saw it was also dirty. Then he brought another that was still dirty with fingerprints on it. Every review said the servers were super busy so it wasn’t an off night. The servers were run ragged, I don’t think they didn’t care but had too many tables to give good service. All issues would be resolved if they hired more help.

We ate outside to avoid the noise level of eating inside and we were inundated by flies from start to finish. The chips and salsa were stale. The table side guacamole was bland and unimpressive. The margaritas were watered down . The fajitas were bland and not very tasty. The flan was like a jello pudding snack. It was one of the worst meals in two and a half years in NM and I will never return. I gave it two stars for ambience and service. They really need to get their act together here. It was pathetic

It was recommended to us, so we made the 25 minute drive from our hotel. The food was good, however most of my group of six thought our meals were a little on the bland side. Their chips were very good and the salsa was excellent. Had the fish tacos and while good, I would not order it again. My husband had the beef tacos and again were good, but not great. Both the patio and inside areas were nice and the music was appropriate and not too loud. However, next time we will try a restaurant that is in town.

We liked the food, fish tacos were delicious. Guacamole was good but over priced, may be because they make it table-side. Restaurant was super busy and made the waiting diners and the seating staff bit edgy. Great big parking lot.

Unfortunately it was so loud inside that we 5 could not hear each other. Deafening. We had to yell. My two tamales were not heated and were thick and hard. I wasn’t offered sauce to go with them. Am writing it off to its being a very popular place on a Saturday nite. Huge busy restaurant. Best bet is to go when it’s warmer and eat outside on the patio. But do get the guacamole prepared table side. Delicious.
