Gabriel's - Santa Fe
Prepared fresh at your table and presented in a molcajete bowl
Tender perfectly grilled strips of fresh seasoned chicken breast
Two deep-fried burritos: chicken or beef. Guacamole, rice & beans
Great food! Great atmosphere! Some of the best food by far in Santa Fe! Don’t come to Santa Fe and miss this place! This restaurant has their act down and are well versed in customer service! Thanks for a great evening!
Food and service were very good. We were glad we went early because it was getting very busy and the waiters were really hustling. Good margaritas too!
Superb quick service, great margaritas and the food was outstanding and very reasonably priced
Food was very good, especially the guacamole. It was extremely noisy and a little messy.
Never did see the sunset! But it was too cold to be outside. I guess none of the inside tables allow you to see the sunset?
We came from Oregon to eat again at Gabriel's after more than 15 years and not disappointed!! Even bought a tee-shirt.
Excellent service. Fresh, authentic food. Generous portions.
Service was very slow, besides that, visit was great.
Everything was great! The waitress was lovely and the food was excellent! It was a fun atmosphere with plenty of people chatting and enjoying themselves. I would highly recommend when in Sante Fe.
Slightly above average Mexican food, long wait but no staff.
As expected, very busy. There was a slight delay being seated and as a party of four seated at a table for six in a location that was not conducive to conversation, the dining experience was not ideal. But the food was delicious and service fine for the challenging times of understaffing. Patience is necessary. Worth the drive for sure. Value superb.
Food was fresh and delicious.
Food was excellent. Service slow but expected.
The best as always! Perfect al fresco dining, amazing food and great service!
This is just a fun place with a beautiful setting. The mountains at sunset are stunning.
Friends were visiting
Even with an early reservation still had to wait over 30 minutes to be seated. It then took another 20 to get someone to wait on our table. Food was overpriced for quality. After our table had finished with our meal and waited another 30 minutes we had to ask multiple people to find our waiter and get our check. Do not waste your time with the drive. You will be disappointed.
Very busy, popular spot
We made reservations which is recommended.
Hard working staff
Best experience!! Love the food and service was great!
Visiting Santa Fe and went to Gabriel’s. Loved it so much that we went back again 5 days later. The best guacamole we’ve ever had-can’t recommend it highly enough.
On vacation in Santa Fe
Good food, great service
Very nice dining experience. Our server was superb.
Wait staff forgot to turn in order so we had a longer than usual delay for our food. Otherwise, his service was fine.
Great margaritas and the food was so delicious! Not greasy. Very flavorful. Our server was so delightful.
I looked like they had a staff shortage - covid issue perhaps
We go to Gabriel’s quite a bit. They weren’t exceptionally busy and we did get seated on the patio right away. But then we sat there for awhile before getting service as did the table next to us. Food was good as usual. We asked for a refill on salsa and never got it. Margaritas were just ok. A little disappointing since we take visitors there often. I hope they can get back to their standards.
We wanted to give this 5 stars but couldn’t because our service was absolutely terrible with no acknowledgement by staff that it was. We were seated and waited 15 with no service to our table not even water. When we walked up to ask the hostess she said she would send someone over. We waited another 5 minutes. Our servers was very friendly but didn’t acknowledge our wait time. We only saw her a few times during the meal. We ordered the elites which looked amazing and was one large ear of corn for 4 people which is great but they brought us no plates and no sharp knife to cut the corn. Same with table-side guac…no plates. When the entrees arrived the server (not our waitress) knock a glass of water over that spilled on our daughter and we used all our napkins to clean it up. He did say sorry and we asked for new napkins and water. Never got them. Our waitress came over about 15 min after entrees arrived and we asked her for them. Ended up getting paper napkins which is fine but really? Btw we told her about the spill and she didn’t respond. Nothing was comped or maybe a free dessert. We sat down at 7:30 and didn’t get out of there until 9:30. We were outside with only about 4 other tables. Food was absolutely amazing. Perhaps we just had a bad table and an off night.
We had reservations for the 5 of us but had to wait outside on a pretty cool evening for about 1/2 hour for a table. OK, it was busy but, there should be a better system in place. "Would you like to wait at the bar" would have been a good question to ask. The food came out quick but, I asked for no onions and my enchiladas were covered in them. The server caught it when he put it down and was apologetic and my new order came out very quickly. Great but all of the food was average or below. I am from Santa FE and am used to exceptional food. None of our meals measured up.
As always, the food and drink were delicious. The tres leches cake is the bomb!
Good service from Jose Louis.
Great food and service. My wife and son came for a Friday night out. Many thanks
Patio was the busiest I’ve ever seen. A little short staffed.
Wonderful evening - great food and fantastic service
Glad we had made a reservation through Open Table as it was a Friday night and a big crowd. We got a table within a few minutes. Great food. Chips a little tough but everything else was delicious.
Appetizer soup came out with dinners. That should never ever happen
The menu was largely uninspired texmex. The dishes we had were mediocre but large in portion size. The ambiance was nice. The waitstaff was good but it could have been better. The red sangria was tasty but served in a pitcher with mostly ice. Fresh guacamole prepared table side was a nice touch. Home made tortilla chips were good.
The guacamole made at the table was excellent as were the margaritas.
Encouraged by a nice selection of vegan and vegetarian options touted on their website's menu, we booked Gabriel's in anticipation of great meal and made the drive out from the Plaza in Santa Fe. Unfortunately, the restaurant seems to be trading on the accolades it has garnered in the past. Had we stopped at the guacamole (prepared table-side) and chips, Gabriel's would have earned 4 starts but with the arrival of our entrees, our meal went considerably farther south from there. Our entrees were lukewarm and uninspired -- never reaching their potential. The service remarkably slow. Perhaps this was due to Covid-related understaffing or perhaps it was a result of poor assignment of stations among the waitstaff; all of whom seemed harried and apologetic. With the plethora of great restaurants surrounding the Plaza our trip to Gabriel's was simply not worth the drive.
Wonderful as always
