Sompting Restaurants

Couple of times we had to prompt the servers to come back to us as it felt like we'd been forgotten about. About 3 or 4 members of staff standing around, cashing up, doing admin duties by the bar, which is a little annoying when you have a table of four still wanting to place an order. The food was amazing, the wine flights were really nice. Atmosphere was nice, albeit, a large table who were a little loud were nearby, but it's fine. Sound does travel around the room and it's echoey, so be mindful. Food was lovely, decor was cute, service was a 4.5/5. Could have been 5, but they were a little forgetful at times. One party member waited ages for her drink. We were celebrating a birthday, and the team did redeem themselves with a complimentary sweet treat, presented on a plate which read happy birthday, so that was lovely. Views over the vineyard are stunning. Can't be helped massively but eating indoors with doors open on a summers day meant insects GALORE. Flies, wasps... so annoying. Would come back here again though. Food really was fab!

Great menu, beautifully cooked and presented. Absolutely delicious! Great wine and service - everything just perfect.

We had Sunday Dinner there the main course was outstanding the quantities were ample, the dessert was equally mouth watering, great place to eat relaxed and good service. many thanks

Lovely modern pod - ideal for a small family gathering. Lovely food and attentive and friendly serving staff. We will be back!

We booked this only because it was the closest place for food to where we were staying. We read the many glowing reviews on the journey down so we’re looking forward to validating them. It did not disappoint - the menu was interesting with plenty of choices and the food we ordered was superb-tapioca crusted halloumi with delicious dips, chicken goujons with Asian slaw and fish & chips ! Service was excellent-invested staff, knew the food, served with enthusiasm & a smile etc. They were busy but the wait time was perfect! We will definitely be back! Have already recommended to friends who intend visiting! Don’t be put off thinking, with the many locals sitting drinking outside, that this is just a pub - it is a pub but with a great restaurant! We can’t wait to go back!
