    What a disappointment…came from out of town to enjoy an upscale dining experience. Had 8:00 reservations and was seated a little early…ordered drinks, my cocktails were weak, wife enjoyed her sangria. Got oysters on halfshell for appetizer, they were good..not great. They brought our entrees out shortly before 9:00, and my steak was room temperature, sides were cold…manager replaced entrees, but by 9:30 i was not happy or hungry anymore…second steak was “charred” to the point it tasted burnt…the cheddar broccoli risotto tasted like it came out of a cardboard box…my wife’s filet was good…manager comped two free desserts, but at this price point, mediocre just does not cut it….restaurant was loud, and after two hours of being jerked around, this place will be left off my list.

    I have enjoyed dinner at Frankie Rowland’s over the years - last night’s dinner was terrible - at first my steak was served almost raw - it was returned to the kitchen and came back a very burned well done - I was stunned anyone in the kitchen believed it was acceptable to serve

    This is one of my favorite places in Roanoke to eat and the best place to get a great steak. However, this was my worst experience ever here and I hope it was a one time thing. The tomato mozzarella salad wasn’t good. The “fresh” cheese was hard and must have been frozen. The oysters which are usually good had a mix of a few with really little to no meat. The Brussel sprouts which are usually amazing were undercooked. My steak was great, although a little bit saltier than usual. I’ll absolutely give this another shot because usually it’s a 10/10, but it wasn’t last night.

    We went for Thanksgiving dinner, but opted to order off the regular menu. Our server, Hunter, was great, very knowledgeable, and friendly. The steaks were perfectly cooked, even the sides were exceptional. Would definitely come back next time we are in Roanoke.

    I've been there about 5 times. The steaks are excellent, the prices should dictate that $$$$. Went for T.G. Dinner special. The last 2X's the service feels stretched. Not sure if it's the lacking of help, or lack of training/work ethic. The exterior lacks a welcoming image. If you do not see the awning, you'll miss it. The price point is not equal to the experience.

    We had Thanksgiving dinner at this restaurant this year and had an excellent experience! My husband had the steak, which was delicious and rivaled some of the finest steak houses in NY. I had the Thanksgiving plate, and it was literally the most delicious turkey I've ever had. To top off a great dining experience, the service was excellent! I highly recommend this restaurant.

    My husband and I went there for our 38th wedding anniversary dinner. Love their pineapple martinis! My dinner was fabulous - I had the petite filet, shared a baked potato and asparagus with my husband. My husband ordered the oysters on the half shell (the waitress informed us that they were blue points). Unfortunately, his oysters were pretty tasteless (he's a seasoned raw oyster eater). He was surprised and disappointed. In the future, should there be one, he would not order that dish again.

    First time visit being new to the area. Nice quiet atmosphere. Seated by friendly staff and waiter did a great job reviewing specials and the menu. Ordered fillet, special seafood trio and everything was cooked as ordered and excellent.

    The best steak i have had in a long time, service was great, ambiance to be updated/improved. The sitting is not comfortable and the decoration/lighting is the lowest of all. Definitely i will see you next time in the beautiful Roanoke!

    We ordered the filet mignon, and it was one of the best, if not THE best, steak we’ve ever had! Service was perfect, dessert was complimented because we had birthdays at our table, and the crème brûlée was straight out of Heaven. Mwoi!

    Perfect evening! The service was outstanding and the steaks done to perfection— charred on the outside and medium rare on the inside. Lovely puréed potatoes, tender roasted Brussels…and the dessert! Lava cake! It isn’t cheap but the expense was worth it.

    From the moment my wife and I walked in the door until we walked out the staff at Frankie Rowland’s treated us as if we were the most important people there. The staff was extremely polite and knowledgeable. The food was amazing and we will definitely be back to eat for sure.

    Overpriced and overrated. Lobster bisque was served luke warm with no lobster chunks or pieces. Looked like cream of tomato soup. I’ve had much better at a local chain restaurant. Mild fishy taste with no depth. Steak was over salted, but cooked to specification. Waitress was arrogant and not at all attentive or helpful. Ambiance is dark and noisy. You can see and hear the loud bar crowd as you sit at your table. Chairs are very low, feels like you’re sitting on the floor. Not impressed. Save your money.

    The oysters Rockefeller came loaded with hot red pepper flakes. This ruined the taste and experience. No where on the menu was red pepper mentioned or I would have asked for it to be held. I should have sent them back. The lobster bisque was a puréed lobster. No flavor and no lobster. We put bread in it to pretend there were lobster chunks. Should have sent it back. The fish and filet were very good. Very expensive. Would not go back. Too many other choices.
