Banana Cream Pie
Honey Walnut Prawns
lightly fried prawns glazed with honey sauce, walnuts, sesame seeds. An all-time Sacramento favorite
served with steamed bun and plum sauce
Very nice restaurant with well prepared food. Friendly staff. We’ll return for sure.
This is my go-to spot for lunch and when dining out with out of town guests. Best Orange Chicken ever, but truly I’ve never had a dish here I haven’t enjoyed. And make sure you try the banana pie!
Excellent experience. Menu with lots of choices, reasonable prices, food well-prepared, attentive servers, convenient parking. It’s a restaurant to return to over and over again.
Fantastic dinner. Its no wonder they've been in business for over 80 years!
We had a party of four and this was our first time at the restaurant. We asked our server if there were any specials or if she had recommendations. She said they had a restaurant anniversary special for the month of March which included chicken salad, walnut shrimp, pork chow mien, New York steak, chicken and vegetables stir fry and dessert for $35.00 per person. The food was delicious! We shared all the entrees and took some home. Plenty of food. For dessert we had the restaurant's famous banana cream pie and it did not disappoint. It was great. We will definitely return.
Frank Fats is always great. Love the food. Love the service. Love the bar.
I haven't been here in many years but the food is still great. The menu has a large selection. Overall it was a great experience.
Excellent food and experience
Great and as always consistently good.
Overpriced and overrated. Had to send back green beans because they were COLD. Nice enough service but inattentive. For a $200 meal, it’s shocking how sub-par it was. I wonder how much more they will be able to coast on their name recognition/reputation
frank fats was great. still a lot of charm and amazing food here. definitely get the full order of peking duck.
When we go near Sacramento, this is an absolute must! You can't go wrong with their fried dumplings! The Hunan chicken chow main was equally good. We grabbed a piece of banana creme pie to share later. Lots of bananas!
It was my first time at Frank fat‘s. We were fortunate to sit at the back which was more quieter. The food and service was excellent. I found my new spot for Chinese!!
Classic and old school = exactly what we wanted and expected.
This place never disappoints. Food, service, ambience, all great all the time. The new hip places might be good but don’t miss Frank Fats when your in Sacramento
My wife birthday dinner before the Blake Shelton concert at the Holden 1 Center. It was very convenient walking distance from the show. The food was excellent! Every item ordered was quite tasty...
Always a stellar experience. Happy Hour prices until 6. The mandarin duck and lamb skewer appetizers were to die for. Served with a choice of 3 sauces: plum, spicy mustard, and chunky spicy peppers. They were great with all 3. My friend enjoyed her martinis. She also had the honey walnut shrimp and a noodle dish. We shared a slice of banana cream pie for dessert, Perfection!
Delicious! Pot stickers were the best we've ever had and loved the sauces . Wor won ton soup was fresh and flavorful. Mongolian beef spicy but not overpoweringly. Our waitress was efficient and fun! Of course my Mai Tai was perfect! We enjoyed our lunch so much that we returned the next day for a repeat performance! Banana cream pie is truly a treat as well as the creamiest fresh ginger ice cream ever! The wait staff went out of their way to make our experience special.
This is one of my favorite Sacramento restaurants. The bar section can be chilly for dining since the door is in direct line with seating. If dining, it's best to sit beyond the bar.
Fat’s is a Sacramento treasure. Dine out often!
Frank Fat's is the place we go [often] but always around our anniversary, because it all, started here 28 years ago and has been a tradition ever since. It's most appreciated when they can accommodate us in the back room with a booth. Great servers and hosting. Love it. Okay, ad I absolutely love the Yu Kwok and Immigrant's Beef. We will be going back often and especially for the happiest times.
Great place ..... * STARS !!!!!
Always a dependable and traditional experience here. I need to go here more often.
We were seated in a wonderful private booth in the back. Very intimate - perfect for a romantic date night!
We celebrated Valentines Day and did the price fixe special. The food is excellent.
This was the first time I wasn't impressed with the food or the service at Frank Fat's. I would recommend it. I think it might depend on who waits on you because other server's were very nice. And it was Valentine's Day so may that's why it took so long to get my scallops. My date was polite but I don't think she was impressed either.
Pretty dang good.
The best Chinese food in Sacramento. Always great food but way overpriced but we still come back. Great happy hour.
We were warmly greeted. We were served attentively but not obtrusively. Our food questions were answered fully and we were totally satisfied in our menu choices as a result of our server's responsiveness. Frank Fats is our go-to destination when we want to celebrate.
The food and service were great. Our server was on top of it and her personality shined through! Going to be going a lot more often now!
Frank Fat's is our favorite Restaurant to go to downtown. We have been coming here
for over 45 years and we always enjoy the Banana Creme Pie for dessert. We brought
some friends here, before the Toby Mac concert and this was their first time here. They
will definitely back! We really enjoyed the Honey Walnut Prawns, Chili Green Beans and
Brandy Fried Chicken, to name a few. We were in and out within about an hour and had
plenty of time to get to our concert. Thank you, Fats!
Food cooked to perfection and service was sublime.
Great service. Food was very good and the wine list was well done.
We tried two appetizers and three different mains. All were excellent!
The food was excellent as usual. The service staff were excellent. We were not rushed and our appetizer was delivered before we ordered our main course. Food Not delivered all a once which other restaurants seem do. Nice serving pace. One of the best restaurant’s in Sacramento. We will keep going back.
Yes, it was amazing and the food was delicious, our server was a little bit weak but he seemed overwhelmed with the amount of tables he had, but it did not affect our lunch!
The food is always exceptional and last evening's meal did not disappoint. Amir (sp?) always makes us feel special when we dine at Frank Fats and each visit is always better than the last.
Friends in town for Lakers/Kings game, pressure to pick great restaurant. Frank Fats was delicious, excellent choice and everyone in our party loved it! The honey walnut shrimp and the string beans in chili sauce are out of this world, could be a last meal...
Delicious food with large portions and a menu with something for everyone. The best Chinese food.
We have never had a bad or even a mediocre dinner at Frank Fat's. The food is very fresh, portion sizes are adequate and the service was outstanding.
