My girlfriend and I love to eat at Frank Fats at least once a month or so. We have never been disappointed in the service and or the food. If you are looking for an upscale Chinese restaurant you need to not look any further. Franks Fats would not disappoint you!! Doug/Wendy

Frank Fat's has been an institution in Sacramento and a hotbed of diners from government and politics. The food and service are consistently excellent, plus their garage next door provides abundant parking. The best Chinese food.

Everything was very lovely except that I noted we were on our anniversary dinner and they did not give us a very special table instead, they sat us near the entrance and by the bar it wasn’t very comfortable or romantic. The service was great and the restaurant was very clean. The food was less than good.

The years come and go and other restaurants rise and close, but Frank Fat's remains the best place to eat in downtown Sacramento. The menu never changes. The recipes are always maintained. The quality of service is always the best.

As always, when we come to Sac, Frank Fats is a must stop. Michelle, our server, is always wonderful. Ken, a manager, is delightful and so very kind. He is the “Face” for Frank Fats and has been for many years. Honestly, if he goes, we go. We now live in San Diego, and I haven’t found a restaurant there that can even come close to matching Frank Fats. Thank you so much for providing traditional Chinese food for many years, and I hope for many more years to come.

With a 7pm reservation and being on time to be told on presentation that we had to place our order and any drinks within 15 min because they are going home early was less than expected for the 200 dollars spent. Feeling pressured and rushed!! before even being seated was not pleasant. Not sure I would go back or go if I wanted a relaxed pleasurable dinner experience. The goal of rapid turnaround if better suited for a Fastfood restaurant...

Wonderful food. The waitress clearly did not want to be bothered. Also, I made the reservation months in advance, but they seated us in the bar. It was fine this time, but next time we make a dinner reservation, I want to be seated in a finning room.

The only thing our party did not care for was, when the Manager told us we had to leave because there was another party waiting. We understand there is limited seating but it was the way it was said “I’m have to ask you to leave, because there is another waiting for your table”. It made us feel like we didn’t matter. We had guests from out of town and it just wasn’t the correct way to say that.

Our mean was great and our server was awesome. the food was great as always. The only thing was and not a huge deal but we sat in the conner in the middle room and it was extremely cold. we brought it up to our server and he checked the air to make sure it was trying off soon but the entire meal my girlfriend and I were very cold.

This is a Sacramento staple. Reservations highly recommended - especially when events/games are happening at Doco (and then factor in extra time for parking). Feed is pretty tasty! The brandy fried chicken and steak dishes are always favorites. And you can’t leave without getting a slice of the banana cream pie. Excellent service.

Went here for a pre-theater date night dinner. We split a Mongolian baby back rib appetizer and the general Tsao chicken entree. The chicken was good but the ribs were amazing! So flavorful and crispy with just the right amount of heat. The service was excellent, attentive but not obtrusive. I had the pomegranate mojito, it was ok, could have been stronger and more pomegranate-y. Haven’t eaten here before but would definitely recommend and would come back again.

We visited to celebrate an anniversary. Service started well but our server ghosted our table for nearly 30 minutes. Drinks weren’t refilled and the meal was overly salted. We were tucked against a wall, and obscured from the server’s line of site. This location also made things very noisy and overall the experience was not pleasant. This has been a favorite of ours for many years, but we will not be returning.

What a special occasion it was to share a meal at this historic restaurant. Manager Patrick greater and seated us in an excellent booth - decor so romantic yet sophisticated. Luis our waiter was outstanding and so was the food. We actually thought to return the next day but drats - a Monday!!

We had to wait quite a while for our table to be ready (about 20 minutes). We loved the hot and sour soup and the dumplings. My entree was just okay. It had a little bit of chicken, a ton of red pepper strips and was lukewarm. I wish I had ordered something different. The pie was amazing and our server, Sherry, was fantastic.

Delicious Frank Fat’s special NY steak and crispy honey walnut shrimp. That plus a nice bottle of wine was perfect. Dessert was their banana cream pie, of course. Can’t ask for a better Sunday dinner. Plus I didn’t have to cook an Easter dinner. No dishes to wash and excellent, friendly service.
