The eggplant parmesan was disappointing. Mushy. We had to order pasta separately and the sauce was minimal. Service was good and our server was fun. The special ricotta appetizer was fabulous and the desserts were good.

Amazing! Food was amazing! Service was amazing! Our server said he had only been there two weeks. He was such a pro! We thought he would have been there for years! He did such a good job, making for a memorable night!

We had another great night at Fortunato. The service was great, and we always love stopping in for a cocktail at Stellina before dinner. Our only complaint is that both of our entrees were extremely heavy on the salt! And I mean heavy! We will be back but hopefully this feedback will help the chefs back off on this a bit.

Fortunato is a favorite! The food is always amazing. The setting has a great vibe. During our recent visit, the hosts and runners were perfect. Our only disappointment was the server. She seemed distracted? Not personable to the point of being rude.... Servers are so key to the fine dining experience!

Please consider a better Cabernet by the glass. A cold glass with a beer would be great. If you are gong to sell beer by the can, it should be cold.

As always, we had a great dinner at Fortunato's. Even though we visit infrequently, both the Host and our waiter remembered us and greeted us warmly. Our table was waiting and the service was excellent. We got drink recommendations (including for a mocktail) and ordered appetizers (House bread with olive oil and smoked ricotta, and Frito Misto - calamari, artichokes, lemons, and pepperoncini). Our waiter let us linger and didn't take our dinner order until we had finished the apps. We love the new menu - one of the many reasons we like coming to Fortunato is that their menu changes often and keeps things interesting. I had the Pasta alla Bascaiola (Tagliatelle w/ mushrooms, pancetta, cream, and parmigiano reggiano), my wife had the Butternut Squash Risotto w/ added sausage, and my son had the Manzo al Sugo (Braised beef chuck on polenta). We each tried everyone's dishes and declared them all outstanding! Our waiter Trevor overrode my wife's wine order with a suggestion of his own and it paired perfectly with her dinner. Sadly, we were too full for dessert - maybe next time, which will be soon!

Food and atmosphere itself would earn this play 4 stars. It was the above and beyond service that really makes me want to give them 5 stars and go out my way to write this review. The staff called me personally and walked me through all the vegan options available and even customized a menu for my girlfriend to use when we visited. Cannot recommend this place enough and will definitely go back when in Roanoke.

Great service from start to finish and a seasonal, updated twist on Italian classics. We had a great dinner- clams with fresh bread to dip in white wine sauce, grilled salad with crispy pancetta, stuffed shells… all was fresh, beautifully presented and delicious.

Fun, high-energy neighborhood spot. Reliably good pizza and pasta dishes, good selection of starters and sides, seasonal dishes. They did a fabulous job with take-out during Covid and deserve the community love now that they're fully back open. One of the places that makes Roanoke even better. Don't miss bartender Rachel shaking it up at the bar!

We ate here for dinner while visiting a friend in town. The food had some good flavor, but lacked in the thing that’s makes you go “mmmm”. It almost tasked like something from a grocery store hot bar. The drinks were delicious and our server was attentive, funny, and helpful! I would go back and give another dish a chance, but my expectations would be much lower.

It was very authentic and the food was well prepared. The server was cordial and checked on us without being overbearing. She wasn't familiar with the menu as one would expect, however she still displayed exemplary service with a smile.
