    Fun, high-energy neighborhood spot. Reliably good pizza and pasta dishes, good selection of starters and sides, seasonal dishes. They did a fabulous job with take-out during Covid and deserve the community love now that they're fully back open. One of the places that makes Roanoke even better. Don't miss bartender Rachel shaking it up at the bar!

    We ate here for dinner while visiting a friend in town. The food had some good flavor, but lacked in the thing that’s makes you go “mmmm”. It almost tasked like something from a grocery store hot bar. The drinks were delicious and our server was attentive, funny, and helpful! I would go back and give another dish a chance, but my expectations would be much lower.

    It was very authentic and the food was well prepared. The server was cordial and checked on us without being overbearing. She wasn't familiar with the menu as one would expect, however she still displayed exemplary service with a smile.

    Everything about our experience was excellent except the noise level. We had difficulty hearing each other, the excellent wait staff, etc. We were anxious to eat and get out. I appreciate a bustling atmosphere but the noise was borderline painful, and this was early in the evening. What are the OSHA standards for decibel levels? How is this affecting the wait staff? Sorry, but won't be returning for a relaxed dining experience. Would I recommend for a friend? Only for carry out.

    Our favorite restaurant in roanoke. Food is excellent snd very reasonably priced for quality ingredients. Pastas are house made. Especially love the eggplant parmigiana. Service superb, Trevor and Drew are so knowledgeable and fun.

    Restaurant has IMO gone downhill over the years. Dishes aren’t are as tasty, cocktails aren’t as good, service and ambience have taken a turn for the worse. We ate there frequently pre-COVID, and have tried multiple times to give the restaurant a chance to turn things around, but we’ve given up after our last visit.

    This was our first-time visiting Fortunato. I chose it because they had gluten free options. We started with the caprese appetizer which was delicious, and we tried the old fashioned and the red wine blend. I had the gf risotto and my husband had a pasta dish. We don't live in Roanoke but would love to try it again if we're ever in the area.

    New in the area and we were referred by our son-in-law for an anniversary dinner. Trever was great and the food delicious. We are from New Jersey and get some great Italian food between Philadelphia and Manhattan and this was right there with them

    Great dinner again this evening. Love the changing menu for fresh options. Love the attentive wait staff and the outstanding mixologist. The Duck Ragu Gemelli Pasta was perfectly prepared again tonight! Thank you Chef!

    We celebrated my birthday and it was so enjoyable! Our waitress was so sweet. She greeted us with a smile and took time to review the menu. She had me sold on the eggplant and I must say it did not disappoint! It truly was the best I have ever had and I not only enjoyed with my taste buds but my eyes as well. This was well worth the one hour drive to get there and we can’t wait to return. Thank you to everyone who makes this restaurant so outstanding!

    The food was very good. But one of the dessert special was horrible. It was an ice cream sandwich and we were told that the ice would be served with brioche buns. And the buns were worst than ones you get at Kroger. And it was not brioche. When we told the server that the bread did not seemed like because because it was so dense, his response was “ Oh alright!” Apart from that everything else was decent.

    We had an early reservation and all went well until our server got slammed. Noise level was extremely loud, even though our table was in a corner by the window. Service was friendly and attentive until the restaurant filled. Our appetizer, salads, and wine service were timely, but our entrees and subsequent wine service were slow or lacking. We really enjoyed the cheese and bread appetizer and the salads were tasty and a nice size. There were some ingredients lacking from our entrees, per the menu description, although we did not notify our server. We thought the wine selections nice, but pricey. Overall the food was good, and a fun night out, but we won’t be rushing back as we would have a few years ago.

    Our table for 2 was right next to a large table for 20 in a back dining room. They were SOOOO LOUD we had to shout at each other and my partner left with a headache. Food and service were excellent, but seating was inappropriate. And we had a reservation.

    Had dinner with my daughter and we love the vibe there. Beautifully decorated and love the Chevy van on the wall! We had great drinks and an incredible salad, it was so good I almost ordered a second one.

    The host and wait staff were all incredibly nice and helpful. Parking was pretty accessible nearby. The restaurant itself was not too big, but nicely decorated, a good quiet but not silent. The food itself was great too, and a pretty good value

    The bucatini all'arrabbiata and the pasta alla nerano were both delicious. Just enough spice in the arrabbiata to know that chilis were included without overwhelming the flavor of the pasta or other ingredients in the sauce. Service was perfect, sufficient attention and banter without being intrusive. Canollo was just the right size with exactly the mix of textures that should be there. No complaints at all, not even minor complaints. Excellent experience!
