                                                                      aside from the fact that the cuts are now much thinner (yes, we noticed)...presumably so they can get them out of the kitchen faster??...the signature prime rib remains the star of the show! the seasoning is down. the pink color is down! the sides are perfection! what's not to love?? anywhere you can bank on what you expect these days is golden. wait staff is attentive, without being intrusive. old fashions are the best! and there's always a birthday shortcake when appropriate! i have several disabilities and don't go out much. it's an effort. but this was worth the effort.                                                                       This was our first time to Five Crowns. We asked for a great place to get prime rib, and Five Crowns was suggested. Let me tell you it did not disappoint. We had a 45 minute commute, but it was worth the drive. All the help was friendly and constantly making sure that our every need was taken care of. The prime rib was fantastic and the creamy horseradish on the side was superb.

                                                                      While the service was excellent, the food was underwhelming. The NY strip ordered medium had almost no pink, and was very dry,no juice at all. Definitely didn’t taste like a prime steak house steak. Also had a large bone which I’ve never seen in a NY strip and made the 16 oz steak much smaller. Mashed potatoes were very wet even without the gravy as requested. Lamb chops were also tastelessly dry. The prime rib and creamed spinach were as expected and thoroughly enjoyed. Birthday free dessert was a nice treat. Unfortunately, 2 out of three were pretty disappointed overall despite the third having been there several times before.
