   Great food and fantastic service. Old English style decor with quiet ambience. You feel like you are eating with the Tudors or something. Not a history major so don’t judge me on that haha. They help split the plates with a small fee but I think it helped improved the dining experience. The split plate looks more like 2 full plates of food. I am sure they gave more than one portion. Super generous with the food. Highly recommended for a special date. We got Lobster Bisque, The Pride of Crown Salad, the dried aged Henry VIII cut Prime Rib, and the chocolate Soufflé. All great picks. The Salad has roasted walnuts and bacon bits to give a slight saltiness and different texture to a simple salad. The dressing is a perfect balance of sour and sweet. The Lobster Bisque is rich with bits of lobster meat floating on top. The prime ribs just melts in your mouth. The cream corn and spinach are so good they should be sold separately. The whole dinner experience was fantastic. Tip: valet parking is $8. You can park in the neighborhood for a brisk walk over. In the summer you can walk on the beach nearby and then stroll over to have your dinner. They split your plates for $4 each but I am pretty sure they gave more than a single portion. Totally worth it and improves the experience. The soufflé does take a while since it’s freshly prepared so order ahead to avoid wait.

   What a disappointment! Our friend’s salmon dinner was terrible but she refused to send it back. It was her birthday and we felt terrible! But our waiter was the absolute worst! We all came away shaking our heads and confused! We’re big fans of Five Crowns and this experience was not what we are accustomed to at Five Crowns.

    Prime rib was disappointing. Salmon was good. We did not get served the birthday trifle. We were not offered to order a second beverage. One server was good, but the main server seemed like she would prefer to be somewhere else.

    We had prime rib and salmon with a cheese plate and the strawberry white cake for dessert. Everything was delicious. The service was great too.

    Best Prime Rib around. Tyler was our server and he was amazing. We brought my parents who are 75 and 83. They are very high maintenance and he handled them perfect! Only small hiccup was that there was a wedding that started just as we sat down (4:30) and we were hoping to sit in the greenhouse. If that room is something you'd like, make sure you call before you book your reservation. Plus was It actually ended up being great inside the main room for a cold day. Nice and cozy with he fireplace. Can't wait to go back.

    This is a very expensive restaurant, and while the prime rib was delicious, the 1970's presentation of the food was terrible. The choice of creamed corn, creamed spinach and mashed potatoes is so outdated. We had a reservation, but it took 15 minutes to get our table ready. Don't sit upstairs- there is no atmosphere unless you want a private room. I dread to think of the cost. If you coming for the m at alone, it's great, but you will walk away spending at least 100.00 per person!

    Everything perfect again! We were here a week ago and it was so good we had to come again this week. Old fashions the best and the prime rib the best with all the trimmings and topped off with a hot fudge sundae!💕

    Sarah was our server and she was magnificent: very attentive, knowledgeable, and represented the Lawry brand well. After my last poor experience with the prime rib, November 2021, I must say five crowns has restored the wonderful Lawry’s tradition of excellence. And since my Chicago Lawry’s is closed, I envy the people of Southern California for their wonderful fine dining establishment.

    It was hard to evaluate as it was very busy during OC restaurant week. Our server(s) were hustling and check on our table and overall kept up with the dinner's pace. The OC Restaurant week's Caesar salad was okay, but I detected some grit when eating the green portions of the Romaine. I fear the lettuce was not rinsed sufficiently and sported some soil particles. I would have preferred the Crown salad which was not offered on the special. Other than that hiccup, I felt the dinner was good. My wife appreciated the tiding once the staff know it was her birthday celebration dinner.

    We went for restaurant week and had a fabulous meal. The prime rib was excellent, the sides were delicious and the dessert was just right not too big or too small. Service was efficient for such a busy Friday night. We'll be back!

    We celebrated our anniversary here. The staff made it very memorable and the food was perfection. I had the prime rib which is always delicious along with creamed spinach and mashed potatoes and Yorkshire pudding. I just love the creamed horseradish to complete the meal. Excellent service and ambiance. Could not ask for more!!

    I was there for restaurant week and the meal was excellent. I couldn’t make my original reservation and was accommodated with a later one, so all was well! The prime rib was so good and the service was professional and unrushed. So old school, and perfect for what it is.

    It was our first time here, came for restaurant week to check out new places, and it was just good/avg… octopus over cooked (tough), hamachi was amazing, prime rib was good (perfect temp, needed seasoning which they provided), and the flan was good. Honestly… overall it was good… the ambiance in the restaurant overall was cute. Priced appropriately for a prime rib place. Would we come back? Maybe… but not likely.

    We went to Five Crown last night during their OC Restaurant Week to celebrate our anniversary. The wine paring were decent and my Cesar salad was tasty. My husband had the grilled octopus and the portion seemed a bit tiny. Our prime ribs were cooked to perfection. Not too rare for my hubby and and exactly medium rare for me. The creamed spinach was slightly salty but tasty, nonetheless. The hot fudge chocolate Sunday was the perfect end to the delicious meal. Overall we enjoyed our food and were glad that we picked Five Crown instead of Fleming’s Steakhouse.

    Came here for the OC restaurant weekly for the dinner prix fixe and everything was delicious. They were also able to accommodate my husband's gluten, dairy, and soy allergy. I ordered the Syrah Wine, with the Grilled Octopus, Prime Rib, and Honey Citrus Flan (light and not too sweet). Husband ordered off the prix fixe menu and got the Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail with the Henry VIII Prime Rib. Cooked to perfection. Their Five Crowns Old Fashioned was on point, and their Bermuda Triangle Taro was like another dessert. We also love the Red Telephone Booth! Overall experience, incredible.
