We had a Groupon so decided to go to Finbars on a Saturday night. We planned to have a leisurely dinner so ordered the calamari appetizer for starters & the eggplant parmesan and the "two in a bowl" fettuccine for later. The calamari is very good and although only half of the appetizer had been eaten our two main courses arrived at the table; so much for a leisurely meal. We complained to the waitress who reported our complaint to the manager. He was nice enough to apologize to us for the issue. If you want to eat FAST, go to Finbars. Oh, the eggplant and pasta were both delicious. If you want a nice meal and want to spend a little more time eating it, it is suggested you alert the wait staff or you will be in and out in 25 minutes.

The menu is extensive. If you can't find something you like on this menu then you sure are a picky eater. I had the penne arabbiatta with a meatball. The sauce was very good but the large meatball was nothing special. I should have gone with the sausage. My wife had the two pastas in a bowl. She thought it was quite good. The portions are good but the prices seem a bit high for pasta dishes. Oh, the calamari appetizer with two different dipping sauces was very good. Next visit I might have that as my main course.

We had a family gathering of 14 people and Finbars sat us at their back room. This allowed us to have privacy...and...screaming kids. In addition, our waitress was amazing as well as the food. We live in Pismo Beach and Finbars will become our traditional family gathering whenever we visit again. Thank you, Alma

excellent food and menu options. we had the specials and they split portions for 2 people in our party with no charges. we shared a bottle of wine which was excellent. the service was prompt and attentive and the server was knowledgable about the menu and the wine. we were there on a sat night and it was a little noisy with the band in the bar for conversation but not that bad at all. overall excellent and we'd go there again for sure.

The food was fair at best, the best item was the salad dressing. The pizza was soggy and both soups I tried were oversalted. The majority of the desserts seem purchased from Sysco or the like.

I had not dined at Finbar's for over a year and decided to visit this past weekend. The noise level was very loud as their were many families present. It is apparently very child friendly as many children were actively yelling and running around. My food was just okay. A key ingredient (pine nuts) were left out of it. I attempted to locate my server to bring this to his attention, but could not find him for 15 minutes and then had to wave him over. I was finished w/ the dish at this point and he offered to give me "a bag of pine nuts to enjoy later". We were offered some cheesecake to go, but since we were going out to a movie after dinner and it was 80 degrees outside, we said no thank you. I doubt we will ever return.
